BascoVanVeli: We need to keep an eye on Dean Furman. This is the south Africans most dangerous player. If he gets a foothold in the midfield we will be in for a long night.
Most importantly our players should show a sense of urgency and ruthlessness. We have to impose ourselves on the match. We have to show a mentality of champions and limit the mistakes.
3-0 I like that final score |

cromz: Akpeyi as GK should be considered as a blessing. Akpeyi is also very familiar with their style of play because he plays there. Why can't you think positively. azin He tire me.....how about we turn the table and infer Akpeyi should snitch in them, their players, coach entire modus operandi....if you think they know about Akpeyi's weakness, don't you think Akpeyi might have one or two on them also which is a plus for us....but no y'all won't think like that....only Akpeyi get weakness, Dem be Superman.... |

Danielnino00: Me too oo.. Those South Africans (players, coaching crew and fans) know Akpeyi like the back of their hand... They know how jittery he is . even the fans of his club are happy he is our first choice.... They will try and put pressure on our defence so Akpeyi will commit mistakes...
Make we start Ezenwa abeg.. I bet when Ezenwa is started and he fumbled, this thread will blow up again And what's with the southi know Akpeyi blah blah.....well it's tomorrow na, or today self, we will see what they have learnt about Akpeyi soon enough... |

Clementoke: I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that our first real test was against Madagascar had we won that game. Just the same way the Guinea game would have been our first real test if we had lost against them. Naija, I hail!! azin I over hail Naija people get wahala...you know that song by Ebenezer obey about a man, his son and a horse that sumptuously define a Nigerian Look at them on this thread, always changing mouth, changing gears and way too much people who Sabi tactics pass our coach... Pre tournament they don't like Ighalo, Etebo was called a carpenter so much I had to really check if he is truly one before football helped him... Nobody gave Madagascar a chance, including me and everyone thought Guinea was the real deal, we lost to Madagascar, since then Guinea was not the text anymore but Madagascar... Then Cameroon will beat us blah blah, they tried to intimidate us with how Cameroonians are jam body blah blah but we beat them and sent them home.... Etebo has been a Beast in this Afcon, ighalo is the top scorer, we have qualified and really nothing anybody could use against the Super Eagles, instead we bring out Keshi from nowhere and start another Keshi vs rohr debate.... |

OMANBALA1: Of course, we were danm lucky to beat Cameroon....lol. Any tactical sound coach like the South African coach can read Rohr so easily. The team has no rythm no telepathy just random movement of the ball till a chance is mistakenly created. Our progress does not correlate with our play.
I am just waiting for Rohr dismissal...you cant give what you dont have....end of road. any tactical sound coach like South African coach hak hak hak, I haven't read so much crap today....south Africa coach tactical sound, abeg swerve.. OMANBALA1: I once said Iwobi is a poor impression of an attacking midfielder..
Nigga is so confused and lost most times....Iwobi on GWG is a sorry site. Nigga is poorer that poor on the field. and can you ease up on the bashing please...this same poor iwobi scored the winning goal against the defending champion...im sure semid4life is eyeing you somehow somehow... |

timay: As a winger , nobody will question your defending deficiency but question your attacking prowess, whether it is good enough or not. That is the point of complain concerning Simon. He offers very little offensively, which is his primary duty.
No club in the world will sign a winger because he can defend, but primarily because if his offensive prowess and how good he can wreck havock to the opponents defense.
Like the guy earlier said, if we are not playing a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, he shouldn't be starting, cos his club has taken away the attacking instinct of Simon we used to know. He plays more or less like a full back now i get you |

EEGA: It's not only today.Even against Guinea he was poor in attack bar his free-kick and his defensive contribution.
Simon is a WB, suitable for 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 not 4-2-3-1. what do you mean by the bolded? For instance can we say the same for chukwueze whose defensive contribution is poor? I mean if Simon attacked less and defended more, yet it is a poor game, chukwueze also attacked more nd defended poorly, why is it great Which Kain logic be that... Both had their purpose their strong points, it was very evident in the match that chukwueze was needed, there's not much need for the defensive duties of Simon that awaziem cannot handle on his own... we needed someone that could put the fear of the Lord on the cameroonian defender, as offensively poor as Simon was, he still manages some take ons, then and there I knew if we bring chukwueze in the game, then we would definitely score.... I'm not insterested in the debate of weather he contributed to the goals or not, he performed well, moses also, I was mad at iwobi in the first half, but was more madder with Aina, infact I rate him very low for yesterday matche, all the boys played well...well akpeyi is akpeyi, neither well nor bad, just there...just hoping none of the balls would get him unaware ( I'm still looking at the first goal suspiciously ) |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Starboytwo(m): 10:58am On Jul 07, 2019 |
EEGA: You dey talk like this because we later won.
We got the first goal because we attacked them first.
But after the first goal our guys wanted to defend till halftime which gave Cameroon chance to equalize.
It's attacking football that won us this game not some defensive football.
Egypt lost yesterday because there coach in a bid for defensive solidity opted for a 4-2-3-1 instead of his 4-3-3 flat which has been winning him games. baba, we won them simply because we are better...that's all...the two goals they scored came in quick succession and we controlled much of the 1st half.. Second half we made changes after we saw that they don't really know how to play and we can even beat them despite being 1-2 down and we did beat them... Could have been 4 and a hatrick if ighalo had not shot straight at onana...onyekuru will score that goal, maybe osihmen too.. Just let a better coach handle this team, we have enough players already, pick the best and watch this team, this Era dominates the African continents back to back to back... |

DrKlever: . I honestly don't understand you people again. Is Moses Simon a defender? Is defending his primary duty? What do you mean by he put up a strong defensive shift all the time? A type that forces us on the back foot even against acclaimed minnors. Oga, attack is the best form of defence. You could see that in yesterday's game when Chukwueze came on. so you think rohr instructed Simon to attack more or defend? Answer this simple question |
