For the umpteenth year in a row, we're going to have our regular end of season discussion on whether the Celtics should end the Tatum-Brown project cheesy

They should have traded Brown for KD when the opportunity came. What were they even thinking?
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 3:33am On May 30, 2023
The Heat lead by 21 with only 4 FT attempts. Is this telling us you can win a basketball game despite shooting significantly fewer FTs?

LeBron fans are just a shameless bunch.....
Never seen a purported GOAT excused so much for his failures. When he wins, he did it all by himself, when he loses, its either his teammates, his limbs, climate change or some extraterrestrial factor beyond his control.
Disgusting....
Ahh, you're here finally. What took you so long? grin Cry along

If you are injured sit on the sidelines. No excuses. We know Lebron has intentional minions out there, ofcourse it would be bad PR to come out and say it himself. This is not new. Leb-Old and his fans do this every other year. You got swept, just shut up and come back better.
Oh, Shams is now a LeBron fanboy who reported this just to prove LeBron could have done better than reach the conference finals at age 38? grin Does that mean that everyone who has said LeBron needs surgery is a LeBron fanboy?

Why are you people so insecure? cheesy

NBA ref Eric Lewis is under investigation by the NBA. He is alleged to have a Twitter burner account which has been linked to his email. I always knew there was something fishy about this fellow cheesy

Are any of the two being considered as GOAT?
Kareem is considered the GOAT by many. But that's not even my point. I'm saying you can't call it a longevity stat when you have other all-time greats who didn't do it despite playing 20 years.

Again you read to reply. You never learn. I never said playing longer is detrimental to one's career. What you are doing here is that in your comparison, you are bringing up arguments that are directly related to the fact that he has played for much longer. The number of years you play can be directly affected by a lot of factors beyond your control, so I am not accepting that as a high-end point. Bringing the argument of points is only fair if you consider averages per game. And stop giving me more ammunition. cheesy grin. If you are in your prime for 19 years, you should be winning a lot more than others. If you are not winning, then perhaps your prime is probably overrated in comparison to some.
If he and his sidekick can stay healthy the perhaps the prime years would have been utilized better. Or you want to deny that injuries have hampered LeBron on the Lakers?

And I gave a list of all-time greats who also played 20 years, but their scoring achievements doesn't even come close to that of LeBron. So longevity is not all you need, you need to be great too.

Learn Leb-Old fan. If you give me 50 years too I guarantee I will reach that total. cheesy grin. It's quite dumb to compare raw points, which is definitely a function of time, for two players that played different lengths of time. This is a more useful argument, let's compare points per game at least for players who have played 10 years or more. Nobody cares about the all-round player. What does that even mean? We look at the results first. I would rather be extraordinary in two out of five things, and play with others who are fairly proficient than seek to be proficient in all, as long as the former leads to more success. Learn Leb-Old fan. Learn.
So are you insinuating that it is a negative to play more years in the NBA? How is playing 20 years instead of 15 detrimental to one's career? LeBron should score points for that, don't you think? And these are not just long years, they are long prime years. Lebron has been in his prime for 19 years basically. He defeated father time.

Shut up. I have told you this Leb-Old fan. This is a useless argument. He has 10 scoring titles. Period. There's no way to prove it can't happen in this era. You never learn. Alternatively, you can wait until we are able to travel to other universes. cheesy grin
Shut up. LeBron has both scoring title and an assist title, to prove he's the better all round player than MJ. Not to even mention that he holds the all-time scoring record. MJ has no case here my boy.

One would think MJ won a championship every single year he was in the league. Who then won the championship in the other 9 years he was in the league? Abi we don't count 1st and 2nd round exits? grin

Oh, my bad. Y'all have assured me that losing in the 1st round is better than losing in the Finals grin

only the PPG these days will have you crying.

Why una they average 130 points per game?

Why are you shooting 5 secs into the shot clock and it's a three point shot with a defender in your face? Are you? Jason Terry? Lillard? No, Just some randos shooting threes anyhow

You have to put all these things together and see the league isn't great just because players are scoring high PPG now.

Just look at this Denver team, They take their time to execute and it pays off. Even warriors no sweep a lebron led team and they did. They take their time on offense allowing them to set their defense.
You should also put into consideration that there are more 3 pointers in today's game, hence the rise in PPG. And over all, players are more efficient.

I've said it here before that the year MJ averaged 37, he attempted 28 shots per game and went to the line 12 times. The most shots LeBron has averaged in a season is 23 and the most times he's gone to the line is 10. So it's not as if MJ was shooting at an insanely efficient level that made him score 37. He just shot more.
