grin grin grin grin
I'm sure you don't even know that Durant Has a higher career PPG than LeBron James.
This is someone with 4 scoring titles to Lebrons 1.
Durant scores whenever and however he wants.
Sometimes, I dey feel like say you dey smoke kwale weed before you argue.
Physicity kor, radicality ni...
Lol. The greatest scorer that ever lived has 0.1 more points than LeBron while playing 5 fewer seasons. I'm really impressed grin Let's see what his ppg number would be after year 20 cheesy. And PS, KD has 4 scoring titles to LeBron's 1 but LeBron has more 30ppg seasons than KD. KD won scoring title with a freaking 27.7ppg, which is just 0.5 points more than LeBron's career average. Twice LeBron averaged 30+ppg and didn't win scoring title. KD won scoring title in his two 30ppg seasons. That’s why these things are very tricky when you analyse them fully wink.

Skrrrrrrr:
Absolute nonsense.
Non of those guys had the skillset of Durant.
Durants major issue has always been his poor mentality. If he had as much rings as Lebron, despite hopping teams, just as much, he'd be in the Goat conversation. Infact, if he had won his rings with the Thunder, rather than joining the warriors, he'd be ranked just as High as those guys...
The difference between Lebron and Durant, is simply mentality. Carrying a team on your back when it matters most, like he did with the Cavs. Not any nonsense physicality. Physicality or no physical, the goal is to score and Durant does that just as much (better sef, forget longevity) as Lebron.
If Jokic continues in this direction, he'd be in the Goat conversation and he isn't physical...
All these your IFs. If my mum were a man I'd call her dad. But let's use Steph for an example. He has 4 rings. Why isn't he in the GOAT conversation? Steph won a 4th ring and the best argument he could get is "Is he the greatest point guard ever?"

And when I say physical, you think I don't also mean the end result of it and all the advantages that comes with it? With physicality, you can go and get a bucket basically whenever you want and no one can stop you. And that's how you help your team win games. That's how you help your team win championships. Imagine KD was 20-25 pounds heavier. Man, he'd be unstoppable. When the jumpshots don't fall, you can say to yourself, "fu*k this shit, I'm going to the basket". Going to the basket means your chances of scoring increases because you either score a layup or a dunk or you go to the line.

And lastly, this notion that you’re peddling of Jokic not being physical is strange. Is it the same Jokic me and you are watching?

Question, was Kareem physical? From what I have heard, Wemby's team is trying to go the KAJ route, instead of adding too much muscles, they are going for agility instead. KAJ played at around 205 all his career at 7ft 2in. Wemby can go for the lean, agile 80s style center who don't pump iron.
KAJ was about 220/225 in his peak weight. But I know Wemby will get there too. But I also know he'll grow taller. He's currently 7"5. And the difference is Wemby's game is going to be different from KAJ's. And lets face it, 7"2' will always have a smaller centre of gravity than 7"5' grin

lol we all just finished watching jokic. He dominated all night during the playoffs to win the championship.

Tim duncan wasn’t athletic and led the spurs to multiple championship. Dirk nowitzki.

These guys dominated and where the best in their days.

Na recency bias they make people put KD higher than these guys.

You no be God o, you no fit determine how far person career go go
Dirk had a fine career, but he's not the GOAT neither can you say he's in the conversation. And you mention Jokic? Lol. Jokic is as physical as they come. Forget that he doesn't have muscle. You can't stop Jokic in the post. Go and ask AD cheesy Duncan was physical.

Note, when I say physical, I don't necessarily mean athletic. Although it could be part of it. There are many ways to be physically imposing, and size and build is definitely a reason for that, as well as the way you use that size.

You be God? 😂😂

I no know say you sabi tomorrow
I'm even generous saying this. KD is a top 15 or top 20 at most, and saying Wemby will not have a greater career than him is not reaching
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m):
Skrrrrrrr:
Lol. Since when has KDs built been a hindrance?
This is one of the purest scorers in the NBA history.
There are many ways to score, you either go physical and do post ups like Lebron and Giannis, or you have a good jumpshot, the problem with relying on physicality is that, there is always that person who you won't be able to blow by.
KD is highly skilled, he has never needed to be physical.
That's why he's never in the GOAT conversation.

Look at all those who have ever been in the GOAT conversation. They have one thing in common. They were physically dominant. MJ was a physically imposing guard, you know what Bron is, I don't need to tell you about Wilt or Bill. Kareem was dominant in his prime. Magic was a 6"9' guard. Go through the top 10 GOAT list and you'd see that physicality is a common theme.

I am yet to watch the kid play a full game. But Im not seeing how his game will translate to the NBA. I feel like he needs some strength and post presence. A player that size will need a defender to believe he is a viable post threat and give him enough room to operate. Well sha, lets see... looks like a good kid in a good organization. Cant beat Pops for character development.
The reality is he'll never have the kind of strength people want him to get. That's just his body type. He can't have a greater career than KD for exalple and that's not a slight on him because KD has had a HOF career. KD had all the skill but that dominance was lacking because of the shortfall in physicality. And in the NBA you need that physicality.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:43am On Jul 10, 2023
Lol. Someone is now making it about LeBron fans grin Una thinking sha. You think LeBron fans are scared that Victor or anybody for that matter would have 20+ excellent years and therefore surpass the GOAT?

Yea, I'm scared. I've got shivers. Can't you see the goosebumps? grin

By the way, after tonight's game, Jokic joins LeBron and Larry Bird as the only players with 500 points, 200 rebounds and 150 assists in a single post-season. Elite company
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 3:59am On Jun 05, 2023
They say a series never really starts until someone wins on the road cheesy Lets see how Denver responds. This was a massive win for Miami. This is Denver's first loss at home this postseason. They've been a force there, leveraging on that altitude and crowd. Great game from Jokic scoring wise. But those assist numbers didn't stack up. Just 4, as opposed to Murray's 10. That right there is probably the reason they lost this game.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m):
3 rings against LeBron and yet zero FMVPs in that stretch. Is that one ownership? grin If there's anyone that owned LeBron it's KD. Those championships will always be knows as the KD championships. I'm sorry the history books are not kind to your man cheesy

LeBron vs Steph without KD in the playoffs/play-in: 11-9

LeBron last 10 games vs Steph (playoffs & reg. season): 7-3

No KD to save lil homie grin

grin grin grin grin. I still cannot see how Miami competes in this series. I was talking about them making 3s, but just saw that Denver only shot 29% from 3,which is 10% points lower than their average.
The series is Denver's to lose. I can see the same pattern playing out as against the Lakers. Anytime Miami tries to go on a run, Denver responds with their own run. They never let go of any type of lead
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:36pm On Jun 02, 2023
Nuggets committed 8 fouls or the refs blew for 8 fouls?

Again, I'm just being sarcastic grin
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:18am On Jun 02, 2023
Khanben:
There was nothing of the sort, Miami only have themselves to blame, you only get FTs if you drive to the basket, only Bam was even attempting to try to score from about 8ft in, every other person was just driving to kick out or taking a jumper or shooting the 3 ball.
As for how they will cope, they will only avoid getting swept if their 3 ball starts falling at a high enough clip, they cannot beat the Nuggets with defense because they just don't have the personnel, but they might be able to outscore them if they shoot the way they shot during the Bucks series and the 1st 3 games of the Celtics series.
If not at most this series goes to game 5.
Yea I was only being sarcastic smiley
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:10am On Jun 02, 2023
Man the FT disparity was too much in game one. 20FTs to just 2FTs. The refs want Denver to win. How can Miami cope?

Jokic is already a better player than Howard has ever been. Jokic is a phenomenal playmaker (top 5 all time in my book), a great scorer and rebounder and an adequate defender. Dwight was an all time great defender and great rebounder. But you couldn't run an offense through him and as a scorer we never got to see him at his very best because he adamantly refused in his prime to play an offense which maximized his ability. In his stint with the Lakers, he was told that his PnR scoring efficiency with Nash was number 1 all-time, and they hoped to increase the number of those sets run, but he refused and wanted the ball in the post because of his stupid feud with Shaq.
So Jokic clears for me and if he wins this title, he is going into top 5 center of all time discussion.
It's easy to say top 5 center all time until you have to remove one or two names from that top 5 centre list. You have Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Hakeem, Moses Malone, David Robinson. And it gets harder if you consider Duncan and KG centers.
