Why's Van Gundy hammering on flopping like that wasn't a foul on GP11? Is he afraid to call it? The Warriors get away with too many illegal screens. |
Shebi we're watching all the fouls on shooters now, after the game now someone will come and ask why Lakers shot too many FTs. |
Lol. He talked about factors then still went ahead to ignore the factors. Curry drives to the rim more, good and fine. But who meets him at the rim? The best rim protector in the game, AD. In fact, LeBron too can be an excellent rim protector when he finds himself at the rim. On the other hand you have Looney and Draymond who averaged a combined 1.4 blocks in the regular season and are averaging the same in the Lakers series. And to think that Looney is even seeing fewer minutes in this series. Where then is the size at the rim? Context matters. One thing about guys like you on this thread is that whenever your bluff is called, you resort to insults, claiming no one understands basketball like you do. We know people like you and how to handle you. |
etidy:I'm all for physicality, because it suits the Lakers more. That's how we love to play. But you can't say the refs should not blow if you clearly impede me. The rules are there for a reason. All those things like flopping or jumping into the defender to get a FT shouldn't be called. Look at the Lakers/Grizzlies series. Both teams shot similar amount of FTs because they play almost the same style. That was the case for Kings/Warriors. Jump shooting team with poor interior defense. Nobody complained about the FTs in those series. |
You can't be taking away my strength (which is scoring in the paint) and expect me to win. When you illegally stop me from scoring in the paint, I expect the refs to blow. I don't care if I go to the line 40 times. We go to the FT line a lot because no one can stop us in the paint. |
For those complaining about the FT disparity. The stats don't lie. Stats and eye test shows GS are notorious for committing fouls. That's what playing small does. You can't compare Draymond trying to defend AD at the rim to AD trying to defend Draymond at the rim. There's a 5 inch difference between the two of them and an even greater wing span difference. And one is an elite rim protector. Now add LeBron to the equation. LeBron himself is bigger and stronger than every single player on the GS roster. And you'd have to foul him most times to stop him. Stats say that during the regular season, the Lakers were the team that committed the least fouls while GS ranked 28. Stats also say that GS shot the fewest amount of FT per game while lakers shot the most. Combine those two things together and the fact that GS is a 3pt shooting team, what you should have is a massive FT disparity between the two teams. It should be a shock for both teams to shoot 15 FTs like they did in game 5.

Honlucas:If that crew refs the game, just be rest assured that they'll be a game 7 |
I almost fainted when I saw this ![]()
|
birdman:But this is what I've been emphasising right from time. They only work well together. Steph might be more valuable as one who can carry a team without the other but there's no major success to show for it. |
Skrrrrrrr:Bros. I'm talking of a full season or something like that. Then we can judge. Don't forget a bulk of that time was with KD as well. |
birdman:Bros you don't seem to get the point. Even LeBron has a poor record without AD. The tree cannot stand without it's root. Dray is not built to carry a team. Never has. Never will. But as a key piece in that GS system, there's no one better at that. And we haven’t seen Curry lead this team without Draymond either. They have been successful together. |
Skrrrrrrr:Bros, you read the graphic well so? ![]() |
This is not a good stat for the best shooter in the game. Or is it about mentality as they say?
|
Skrrrrrrr:He's been good on offense but terrible on defense. Every team wants to switch on to him. If you watched game 4 yesterday you'd know that was what the Lakers were doing. But should we fault him? |
Skrrrrrrr:And Steph and Klay are to blame for your game 4 loss that would essentially cost you the title. Nobody is innocent if we want to nitpick |
birdman:The way you people talk shiit about Dray's game is shocking sometimes. I can understand the non GS fans like you but I get infuriated when I hear it coming from the GS fans themselves. It just shows they are ungrateful. Draymond has been a central figure for this team for a decade. Yes he might not be this usefull on another team, but you see him in that GS team? I'll repeat myself, GS would have only 2 championships if he wasn't on that team. I don't know whether you guys trash him because he doesn't score 25 a night like Steph and Klay, or because he doesn't shoot 35 footers and do the flashy crossovers. Who do you think has been slowing AD down in this series? What happened to Looney in game one? The poor lad lost his starting spot after that game even though he is their best rebounder. If GS are wise they should trade Klay before they even think of Draymond. And I suspect that's what they'll do. You can get a Klay replacement easily in this league. But you can't get another player to do what Dray has been doing for GS in the past 10 years. |
Shebi na this same Sixers dem say they for blow out if to say dem win game one |
Honlucas:You squirt purple and gold ![]() |
Skrrrrrrr:Lol. It feels strange to see another Warriors fan with a different view abi. Y'all can't stand a different viewpoint |
But by and large, this series has been relatively even. The Lakers are 3-1 up but it could easily have been the other way around. Game 1, the Warriors could have won it. It was literally tied with less that 2 minutes to go. Game 2, Warriors blow the Lakers out and the Lakers reciprocate in game 3. Game 4 went right down to the wire and the Warriors could have been the ones smiling at the end. The Lakers have not been the dominant team in this series. They just happened to have won 2 clutch games. That's why I won't sit here and say the series is over. |
Why the argument here? The series is not over If you win game 5 at Chase then you can see what will happen in game 6. Don't lose hope. After all LeBron did it in 2016. |
What a game. What a nailbiter. Game ball goes to Lonnie Walker. He stayed ready. But Steve Kerr though. Man really cooked. As soon as I heard GPII was starting I began to wonder what he was cooking. That's 3 starting lineups in 4 games. Credit to Darvin Ham for having answers to all of them. Steph did some nice playmaking tonight and his teammates knocked down shots when open. But I think I'd rather have Steph the playmaker than Steph the shooter. Let him go 30 and 15 rather than 45 and 6. On to game 5. |
The recipe hasn't changed. steady986: |
The Nuggets don't really have a good defense. How do you keep letting Booker have efficient near 40 or 40+ games. Today he missed only 4 shots. The same thing the other night. This is not sustainable if you're the Nuggets. |
Good game from James Harden. It was overdue. |
That Pushoff by Tatum on Maxey is exactly why players flop these days. |
5 more minutes because we deserve it. |
One blowout deserves another. On to game 4. |
Skrrrrrrr:Harden averages 22.8 points in the playoffs. Lillard averages 25.7 |
felix00:This wasn't too long ago . When it comes to the playoffs, give me Lillard over Harden.
|
I was watching the 2nd quarter of the Suns game and I concluded that for the Suns to beat the Nuggets tonight and any other night in this series for that matter, both Booker and KD would have to go for 40 or something close to that. Then KD drops 39 and Book drops 47. I think that's the recipe going forward because these guys don't rely on their teammates enough to win games. Today their bench tried but Ayton only had 4 points from 6 shot attempts. They're not even making plays for him and others. It's just KD and Book playing hero ball and the rest feeding off whatever comes from it. Any night either KD or Book drops below 30, it's an automatic loss for the Suns. |
