No more basketball today. Till tomorrow. Any other game will just be an anticlimax grin

Close one there. What a series.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:49pm On Apr 23, 2023
This game is all about runs. Kings make a run, then GS replies with their own run. Rinse and repeat.

Is it me or is Westbrook somehow playing well enough that you can excuse any of his inevitable mistakes. The dude might end up getting good money in FA if one GM, thinks he can do what he his doing now for a whole season.
He could get 12-15m on a conteder, or 20m in a small market

How can points not have impact. Everyone knows Lebron can't control a game the way he used to say 5 yrs ago, but to say 25pts on very good efficiency more often than not does not have any impact is reaching.
There're very few winning teams in history where what Lebron is doing right now would not make him at the very least the 2nd best player on said team.

PS: Even in his prime Lebron missed dunks, every single player in history has missed dunks, and layups.
I'm borrowing the words of some of our analysts here grin. Maybe that was reaching. But my point is, when you really expect him to have a foothold on a game, he defers. I'm not mad though. Age is catching up on him.

Lakers will win game 4..
Lakers won't lose at home..

They where just relax after the early lead
I hope so, because Memphis is coming back with a vengeance. I can feel it with the way they played the last 3 quarters of this game.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:17am On Apr 23, 2023
And for LeBron, it's safe to say he's old. He doesn't impact the game as he used to. He scores points but more often than not you can't really feel the impact of those points. The efficiency has gone down mostly because he's taking too many threes. The IQ is there and the mind is willing but the body is letting him down. Look at the open dunk he missed today. He's also missing layups. For us to have any chance in this series or the rest of the playoffs, AD has to be our best player. You could see in game 2 that just a little more production on the offensive end and we could have won that game.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:48am On Apr 23, 2023
Man Menphis are a scary opposition. They just keep coming at you. If not for our good start this game would have ended in tears for us. Even an unfit Ja is dropping 45 on our head, talk more of a fit one. I hope we play better in game 4 if not it's 2-2 and back to Memphis.

So the Celtics made 21 threes tonight. They were +18 on points from threes, plus they shot the same amount of FTs as the Hawks and missed just 2 more than them. And they still lost. I'd be worried if I were the Celtics.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 7:40am On Apr 21, 2023
They really waited for Bron to be 38 before they talked trash about him grin

And why are the Warriors crowd booing Sabonis on every touch of the ball? He wasn't the one who tried to smash someone's ribcage cheesy

And this is without Giannis o. No one wants to go 2-0 down and then go on the road. That basically means the series is over. Suns, Grizzlies and now Bucks have ground out a win to avoid being in that situation.

I wasnt capping when I said this is a nightmare matchup for the Lakers. Some folks wach for names. Others watch the games themselves. They way the Grizz play, if they are clicking, the Lakers cant stop them. The only hope for this game is to hope the young team relents late 3q, try to cut things to 10 points and see what happens in 4q.

The only other team I fear more in terms of matchup is Denver. If Jamaal Murray plays anything like the last time he was healthy, they coming out in the West. Lebron iced him the last time, but that was 4 years ago. Legoat don turn to papa smurf
Yea Memphis is for real. There's a reason the Lakers were only a +1 favourite with Ja missing.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 1:43am On Apr 20, 2023
E be like say we go carry our one win dey go back LA. Because the refereeing has been shocking so far. Shocking. And it doesn't look like it'll change.

Westbrook is just funny. Takes a pull up jumper and misses. Next play he drives to the basket and also misses grin And the funny thing is none of his teammates touched the ball on both plays

Kawhi is playing some nice basketball these playoffs. On both ends of the floor.

You don start ooo. You don start ooo. The Lakers were not the underdog. AD and Lebron cannot be the underdog in this series. The only thing that makes it look like it is the uncertainty surrounding your glass of a person. This two have won together(even though na bubble, all win na win. cheesy grin) and Lebron's tremendous experience is very important here. Interestingly, i would rather they dispatch you guys, so we can make quick work of them again if and when we go past the Kings. No hard feelings. cheesy grin. Your team may be uncertain, but your upside is high. Your supporting cast is showing up too. More dangerous than I even thought.
Continue your agenda. I have your screenshots
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:10am On Apr 17, 2023
Man the amount of key injuries we've recorded so far is not good. Giannis, Ja and Herro all injured. AD had his own scare too. And it's just game 1.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:15am On Apr 17, 2023
This series no go easy for Suns as people think am o. There's something about having a team that has been together for quite some time. And we were right to question the depth of the Suns. The Suns bench combined for 10 points in this game. I don't care how good your starting 5 is, that won't win you games.

But this is just game one sha. Make I no too over analyse. Teams will adjust. I expect the Suns to take game 2 or else it would be a very short series.

Which narrative? Are you alright? How can this team even win without Ja Morant? I am not sure anyone would think twice about this Memphis Grizzlies without Ja.
I'm talking about who was the underdog at the start of the series with both teams healthy. We all agreed it was the Lakers, but because of agenda some people want to twist the narrative.

I was about to tell you that. Ja or no Ja, the Lakers played well, they calmed the grizz fast game. And Lebron played exceptionally well, man I mus enter gym tomorrow, no excuses. What he is doing right now, man, I would not believe it if I didnt see it. And a lot of the "post analysis" you are seeing here is jealousy the old man actually played a great game.

This series still belongs to the grizz, but I think overconfidence did them in in this game. When Lakers were still returning punch for punch with 4 minutes left in the game, Grizz became worried and started losing their composure. Otherwise this game should have been tight to the end.
Yea. When your role players win you a game like this, you can't get too confident, because it might not happen again. Rui won't go 5/6 from 3 again I can bet you that.

Yea Bron and AD played well, bar the TOs from Bron. And I liked the weak side blocks. But he wasn't aggressive offensively. I guess this is the mythical feel-out game that Bron always does. But AD man, he was huge on the defensive end. The only time JJJ saw chance was when AD was not in the game. JJJ ate Bron and Vando alive in the paint grin

People like to move goalposts instead of admitting that they are wrong, it's just a human thing.
For me personally, some of these playoffs matchups are wonky, that is why I have not made any predictions and will just enjoy the games. For instance GSW vs Kings, yes GSW has the experience but their away form this season has been atrocious, as for the Kings, they have been bad defensively all season and good on the offensive side of the ball, but their coach is a defensive guy with championship experience, which has to count for something, so that match-up is just somehow
That's the thing. I'm just happy to win this game because I know it only gets tougher from here. Memphis is a very good team, and they have been together basically since Ja entered the league. The Lakers on the other hand just formed this team and they've barely played together due to injuries to Bron and DLo. I can't get too cocky
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:55pm On Apr 16, 2023
A team that has two all-stars in Ja and JJJ who also doubles as the leading shot blocker in the league and who would probably win DPOY. Plus Luke Kennard who is shooting an unbelievable 49% from 3 this season. Plus Tyus Jones that they almost unanimously call the best backup PG in the league. In all of this I have not even mentioned Bane and Dillon Brooks.

If no be crase dey worry you.
