diamond68: So a celestial soul is downloaded into a flesh , basically imprisoned in a flesh where it then starts to feel pain and then is subject to all kinds of pain and hardship and torture and afflictions. It feels the pains of lack and violence and disease and struggles etc. also has to contend with the insatiable desires of this demon called the flesh that walk it into all kinds of painful situations just to get its satisfaction and desires met. It’s like being trapped in hell. The body is the perfect hell. The flesh is a component of the biblical hell. This is Gnostism an ancient heresy. |

Christianity Etc › Re: After Death: What Happens? Where Will You Be? by Steep(m): 9:22am On Jan 17, 2025 |
UncleAyo: I personally believe that death marks the end of conscious existence. Once the brain ceases to function, all experiences, thoughts, and awareness also come to an end. The cessation of brain activity, as observed in medical and scientific contexts, supports the conclusion that consciousness is inextricably tied to the physical brain. As such, no brain activity means no self-awareness or ability to experience anything beyond death.
The phenomenon of death is just like our state of nonexistence before birth. Before being conceived, one had no consciousness, no memory, and no self-awareness. Death is a return to that state of non-being. It is likened to a dreamless sleep or the absence of experience altogether.
There is no empirical evidence to support the existence of an afterlife, reincarnation, or any continuation of individual consciousness. Instead, life is a finite experience bound by the laws of biology and physics, so it is important you live your life to the fullest with the understanding that that is the only existence you have.
Somebody should please help me with evidence of afterlife. If possible, a video evidence that can be empirically examined.
Sterope (my good friend) your contribution will also be great here. If life is a product of random mindless atoms bumping on each other, then life ultimately has no meaning, good and evil are just figment of imagination, heck what does imagination even mean. Rape, murder, stealing etc are matter of taste, love is just a product of chemical reaction, why punish a set of atoms for crimes. The atheistic world view ultimate lead to despair, chaos and nihilism, atheists cannot successfully live out their world view. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Jesus, Jehovah?! by Steep(m): 12:41pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
gohf: Teaching us how to pray, Jesus said, Holy is your name. Not Holy is my name or the name. God's name is sanctified, is hallowed, Matthew 6:9
What does it mean to pray? It means to call upon the name of the Lord.
The first time we come across this in the bible is in Gen.4.26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.
That means from the beginning there were those who called upon God, so when God said to Moses that he didn't reveal himself or appear by his name YHVH to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It means there is a purpose by which God reveals himself in that name and there was no need to do so for Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. And I believe that purpose is salvation.
God reveals himself as YHVH to save the people of Israel from bondage, and I believe from Enosh, people called on the name to be saved. With this understanding this brings us to the book of Romans and what is written in chapter 10. God is a Trinity of persons, The father , Son and Holy Spirit are One God. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Jesus, Jehovah?! by Steep(m): 12:39pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
gohf: The question is, is Jesus Yahweh/JHVH?
Now though some go from believing that Jesus is a god to believing that Jesus is God and even as far as proclaim that Jesus is Jehovah, NONE of the first true apostles nor Christ Jesus himself proclaims that Jesus is Jehovah. So the simple answer is NO. Jesus is NOT Jehovah and he is NOT Yahweh, he is NOT YHVH.
One of the basis of the believe that Jesus is God is that he says or uses the phrase, "I AM" which was recorded in Greek eimi, like the example from John 8:58 before Abraham was, I am. And because "I am" is seen as the name of God they assume that well Jesus says "I am" so Jesus is Jehovah God.
The issue with this is that, does it mean every usage of "I am" means "God" or does it mean "Jehovah" but we know that is not true so why is the case different here. Well when God introduced Himself to Moses He said, I am that I am, but God didn't stop there in Exodus 3:13-15, but goes on and says, tell them I am Jehovah God, God of your fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob. Not three gods but one and the same God, which Jesus never claimed to be, Jesus only said I existed before Abraham and that's the truth.
If "I am" was God's name, in Exod.6.3, God would have said, "I am" but he said, "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, though I did not reveal my name, YHVH, to them."
Personally I believe it's sad that due to misunderstood the third commandments many Jews didn't say the name of God and even banned it from being said but that doesn't mean Jesus took a roundabout part of proclaiming that he is YHVH- Jehovah.
In that same chapter 8 of John John.8.54 Jesus answered, "If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God.
Who do the Jews claim is their God, it's YHVH. Now in Hebrew yod is Y or J in English and waw or vav is W or V. So YHWH or JHVH is the same I want us to understand that.
The question is, is Jesus YHVH? Jesus means Jehovah is salvation which is also Joshua, when translated directed from Hebrew and Jesus when translated from Greek. Now neither his name, be it spelling or meaning, is YHVH, Jehovah. So why then do people believe that Jesus is Jehovah?
Let's go into some of their "scripturally proofs" that make some believe that Jesus is Jehovah? Jesus is Jehovah or yahweh, He is Almighty God. |

Let agree for a minute that truly, those complex structures cannot be arrive at with just evolutionary explanations.
The God who create these complex form must be himself very very very complex himself and not happen just by chance. My Question Is, Who Created God?

gohf: John.3.34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.
1. So God gave God to God without measure? 😏
And when God was his second person he died and gave himself back to his first person God so that his third person can come. God is not changing to different persons rather God has, is and will always be three persons. 2. So God changed Himself to three forms or He was always three forms. If He was always three forms so then why did He say only He is God? Why is God not differentiated anywhere in scripture as God the Father, God the Spirit why did He only reveal Himself has One God and even gave commandments in line with thay revelation? So who is talking of forms of God. When God says he only is God it is with respect to other gods. The only true God is the father, Son and Holy Spirit. |

Truthseeker10: So according to the diagram, The father, the son, and the Holy Spirit do not make up one word 'God'? If yes, what makes up the one word 'GOD' that is in the middle of the diagram? The diagram is clear, it says that God is the father, God is the Son and God is the holy ghost but however the father is not the Son neither the Son the holy ghost. Like saying the man is the teacher, judge, and father but father is not the same as teacher neither the same as judge. In the case of Trinity we are not talking of positions or offices but rather personhood. |

How many persons combine to form the word one 'GOD' in the middle of the diagram? you are still not getting it, if a Man is a doctor, a father and a teacher does that mean doctor, father and teacher are what makes up that man? I am not saying that is what what the Trinity is, but just as you cannot say a man that is in different positions or offices is made up of those office or position so also, the father, Son, and holy spirit are persond of the one God. |

The diagram shows that there cannot be a 'GOD' without the three persons combining. No, the did not say that the father, Son and Holy Spirit are parts of God. Rather the father is God, the Spirit is God and the Son is God. |

YOU cannot say that the FATHER IS 'GOD' in Isolation of the Son and the Holy Spirit because they are partakers of that word 'GOD'. signs, you get it all wrong, persons do not mean parts of God. Truthseeker10: There is nothing to read slowly about. Below in the screenshot is the diagram of the Trinity. You can clearly see that three separate persons(The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit) Have one essence (God) in the middle of the diagram.
So how can John 1:1 tell you that GOD(essence) in the middle of the diagram is with THE GOD(essence) also in the middle of the diagram. Does that not Show that the essence Of GOD is separate from the ESSENCE of THE GOD? So why are you arguing that GOD and THE GOD have the same essence or nature? In that diagram you are seeing one God at the middle are you not? So where does the three God essences come from? God is one but shared by three persons, so each person could properly be called God. The father is God, The Son is God and The Holy Spirit is God all have same essence, they are same being buy different persons. |
