LaaJiblik: Congratulations Madam. Well Done!
Please, are you able to help other members by posting a brief summary of steps you took to achieve this? Thanks. Busy at work now but let me summarise all. 1st step : You must be a recognised teacher from Nigeria and registered with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. 2nd : Pay and send your documents to UKNARIC for Statement of Comparability via https://uknaric.org/3rd : Pay and register with Graduate Teaching Council of Scotland to check your credibility for registation via https://www.gtcs.org.uk/registration/qualified_uk_row-checklist.aspx4th : Contact your Nigeria School head or Subject head as referee 5th : Pay to Get your Police clearance certificate via Nigeria embassy in London 6th : Pay and Register for Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) for the adults 7th : pay and Register for PVG for children If GCTS is fully satisfied with all that, you will then be contacted after few months and given go ahead to pay for application as a Teacher 8th : Pay for your unique Teacher Registration licence Number with GTCS 9th : You are good to go as a Full or probational or conditional Qualified Teacher depending on your experience and credentials. |

MaCollins1: @STENON thanks alot, that was really good piece of advice, i learnt student visa denial rate is very high for canada, pls how true is this? sent you a mail.. Thanks once again If you believe they will deny you visa then that wish will come to fulfilment and if you believe otherwise, It will also come to reality. Life is all about been positive. Some will pass and some will fail. So choose your thought wisely. I have said all you have to do. Do it and get back to me here once the Profs have responded back. MaCollins1. Congrats on your CGPA and publications. You have all that is needed to get a fully funded scholarship for MSc and PhD. In addition to what everyone has said. Below is my own advice. It is a "Do It Yourself" thing Write a personal statement not more than 400 words and introduce yourself, your undergraduate institution name, country, course, cgpa(please don't mention second class or whatever, just write it as 4.49/5.00 and also in percentage 89.8%) ,your past research work, your publications and awards including names of journals, volume and pages of published work, any conferences attended, any software training you know in your discipline, Your hard and soft skills, Postgraduate research interest, how you intend to use your previous experience towards your new research, your present work, when you intend to start your postgraduate (mention spring 2020 or Fall 2020, depending on what opening they have) future career plan like going for PhD and becoming Emeritus. Search for any 40 different universities each in Canada, US, and maybe 20 in UK Click on your department Click on "People and Faculty" Check their individual Profs/Drs. Page to know their research interests/specialization Copy their mails and name Send them your written statement by personalizing it to them like... Dear Prof. Nairaland, My name is abc, (Add the body of your 400 words statement here). I wish to be your Graduate Teaching or Research Assistant. I have attached my certifcate, publications, awards certificate, link to my publications to this mail.(please remember to scan and send) Thank you in anticipation for your response. Warm regards, Your first name then surname Email address Active phone number +23470... Step 2. After a positive response, reply by asking of the funding package available for your studies while doing your MSc/PhD studies as a Graduate Assistant. Pray along with it and have a positive mind. I wish you all the very best bro. |

nomad26: Hello house, I bring good news. My mum and brother just got their visit visa valid for 6 months . My mum is retired and self-employed, this will be her 2nd time visiting the UK. While my brother has 2 years work experience in IT but no travel history and first time applying for any visa. I put a budget of 3K for 2-weeks stay for both of them (fully sponsored by me).
Timeline (Standard): TLS Lagos VI 20th June: Submitted online application (document self-upload) 26th June: Biometrics 18th July: Call from UKVI (asked if I was inviting anyone and how long they are staying, if I am fully sponsoring and how much, my brother's job title and company he works for, my immigration status in the UK and my job title...I think that was all) 19th July: Received email stating 'Application Concluded' 23rd July: Passport ready for pickup Picked up passports same day with both visas approved
These are the documents we submitted with their application:
Mine: 1. Invitation Letter for both of them (electronic copy with a scanned picture of my signature) 2. Copy of BRP and my passport data page 3. Tenancy agreement (scanned copy with signatures) 4. 6-months payslip (e-copy) 5. 6-months bank statement salary account (downloaded from my online account with no bank stamp)
Mum: 1. Cover letter - highlighted my mum's sources of income, she collects pension and is also self-employed. I also highlighted how much she has currently in her savings) 2. Copy of previous UK visa 3. Company CAC certificate 4. Pension Letter 5. C of O of residential house 6. Land C of O 7. 6-months bank statement (the one that her pension and income from her business comes into) 8. Excel table explaining deposits into her account, with 4 columns - Date, Amount, Sender and Purpose of transfer (we highlighted any inflow greater than 50K)
Brother: 1. Cover letter - highlighted his job, how much he earns and how much he currently has in his savings) 2. HR Letter of introduction 3. Work Offer Letter 4. Work ID card 5. 6-months payslips 6. 6-months bank statement (both salary and savings accounts) 7. Excel table explaining deposits into his account, with 4 columns - Date, Amount, Sender and Purpose of transfer(we highlighted any inflow greater than 50K) *I was a bit worried about the fact that we didn't include tenancy agreement for my brother because he shares a flat with his colleague and his name is not on the agreement but thank God that it didn't seem to matter. We didn't include tax cards either.
Thanks to everyone who contributes here, especially to giselle237 & MadameW for taking the time to answer my questions. God bless you all! Congrats bro |

hosey: The money should be same since your mum is not paying anything for her proposed travel as your sponsor will pay everything she needs. I have done this and it was successful. The question in another form means how much does your mum require for travel to the UK. So do you mean your mum need 0 pound for her travel to the UK if you put 0 pounds there.
This does not mean flight. It means all expenses she will need hence flight, UK accommodation, UK feeding and other expenses
Hence put same 1500 pounds for your mum and sponsor.
Your mum should also write a cover letter stating that your husband is responsible for everything including flight, accommodation, feeding and everything. Account for the flight money, feeding , accommodation and everything. Do an itinerary of travel. Account for how your mum will use the 1500 pounds for three weeks in your mum cover letter. Explain everything and let everything be equal to 1500 pounds.
Your husband should also state in his letter of invitation that he is responsible for your mum flight, accommodation, feeding and everything. Also he should that hence they should focus only on his husband bank statement for evidence and that your mum bank statement is just to show her proof of address.
From the refusal letter, the reason why they rejected your mum application is because you also stated that your mum will meet the cost of the trip. You didn't state that your sponsor will pay for everything in her trip.
Because of she stated she and your sponsor will pay for the trip, they looked at her account also. Obviously they will reject the visa because she is retired and has only 100,000 naira. They rejected the visa because of your mum financial circumstances does not reflect her ability to pay for her proposed visit.
Y did you say your mum and sponsor will pay for the trip. Y didn't u state only your sponsor is responsible. Follow the above guidelines if you want a visa.
Look at your refusal letter again and address it. Don't rush.
Good luck. let me save this information for future reference too |
