You are comparing ‘SCOTLAND’ with ‘LONDON’?
Are you for real?

Maybe it’s a good time to remind ourselves:
Country : Scotland & ENGLAND

What you are doing is akin to comparing ABUJA (FCT) with GHANA.

Apples & Grapes
My Boss cheesy... Who am I to argue with you? England and Scotland both pays same minimum wage for all sectors. But the standard of confortable living you can get with 350pounds in Scotland is worth nothing in England.

London is just like most capital cities- densely populated and first go to city for everyone looking for jobs and socials. crime in general is going down, just that knife crime predominantly amongst gangs is takng the spot light. People still move about freely even at midnight

Scotland is cool but can be extremely slow but much better than inner Wales ..like moving from Lagos to Enugu
"Extremely slow" Same thing I was told before moving here but the truth is Scotland is more than what most people presume it to be . In Scotland, life is easier and comfortable for raising up kids and having good family with moderate and comfortable lifestyle. London is more expensive and easier to spend life savings for paying bills

Glasgow used to be stab capital of Europe until the late noughties, when they adopted a different approach and reduced it considerable.
London's stabbing is just off the chain, even with tougher sentence- perhaps they just feel these kids in ganags are mainly killing themselves..
London is over populated and its difficult for any stringent rule to curb the menace. I was in London few weeks ago and it was like hell with different kinds, types and varieties of people. Scotland is just so cool and comfortable

where in Scotland are you and how is the cost of living in Edinburgh?
I am in West of Scotland. The cost of living in Edinburgh is very great according to your taste and size. But you can check www.gumtree.com to compare and contrast between the cost, register on gumtree and send a message to the landlords to make enquiries too, You can also try and negotiate the price with the landlord as per a typical Naija because I just stopped pricing things here even at the supermarket cheesy

Please also ask if all bills (electricity and gas bills) are included in the rent or not , You can also ask for the monthly cost of the bills.

Pcm...is pounds per calenda month.
Pcw... is pounds per calenda week.

Search for Edinburgh and put in a flat in to share , or 1/2/3/4/5/6/7... Bedrooms flat or cottage.

Wishing you all the very best bro

A teaching Job is not a ‘shift’ job.
A teaching job is a full time job.
How can a full time student be employed to teach in a School?

Teaching Assistant (via an agency, MAYBE). But teacher? NO.
Teaching has both part time and full time.

Hey, your people aren't wrong per se.. I'd be very careful taking a teaching job cos just before I started typing this reply, I was researching on prohibited jobs for tier 4 students. I have to tell you, teaching did come up as one of the prohibited ones.

If I was you, I'd go into Google and search "jobs you can and canNOT do on a tier 4 visa.

On a good note, teaching is a very good job here and if you are allowed to take up teaching, securing a teaching job should not be too much of a problem as long as you pass the Professional Skills test, which is usually in literacy and numerical form.

Good luck....
Thanks alot bro. I just rechecked google now and saw that Teaching was not mentioned as part of the prohibited jobs on tier 4 visa.

Teaching is a very good job in UK, Physics and maths teachers are currently on high demand now.
The above tests are not required for the full registration except one is unable to provide some documents like uknaric, TRCN certificate, etc . My UKNARIC statement of comparability has done justice to the literacy and numerical aspect of the registration.

Thanks bro. I am on long vacation at my Uni here from may till september so I can work for full time. I am working as a private home tutor with a tutoring agency here and they also assisted with the GCTS certification. The plan is to be a Physics supply teacher to school and be on 20 hours contract as from september 2019. But my people are saying its against the immigration law to work as a Teacher.

LaaJiblik:
It’s a good thing you have done the certification.
Questions:
You get a teaching job in a 7am - 3pm school (Mon - Friday) in term time.
When will you attend your own lectures? Saturdays and Sundays?

Have you modified your 20 hour per week work time? Or you hope to teach for only 20 hours per week in a school?

she has a degree in teacher's Education/chemistry and also attended a training on nursing for 2 years in one of the hospital here. What's her chances of getting something done with all these in Scotland.
That is very good sir. Please let her register with Teachers Registration council of Nigeria (TRCN) before leaving Naija and also let her go to any hospital to volunteer as a social worker (care assistant) for experience. so that the medical Director of the hospital or head teacher of where she taught can act a referee for her for either medical or tutoring job in scotland.

Hi everyone. Please am I permitted to work as a teacher in UK on tier 4 student visa? I am a registered Physics and Mathematics Teacher in Nigeria with the Teachers Registration council of Nigeria (TRCN). I have fulfilled the mandatory requirement of becoming a registered Teacher in
UK (scotland) via this link ( https://www.gtcs.org.uk/registration/qualified_uk_row-checklist.aspx ), paid and got my UK statement of comparability from UKNARIC (https://uknaric.org/) and registered with the General Teaching council for scotland (GTCS) but waiting for the final certificate from GTCS. Some people are saying I am not legally permitted to work as a teacher even with GTCS certificate because I am on student visa. Please I need your input. Thank you
