Well, some of them are relatively "peaceful" rather than extreme. Pakistan continues to be a rather embarrassing spot on this question; Afghanistan is 'landlord' to the dilemma!

Now the question really bothers the mind - and I'm wondering how it is that Muslims make the claim that Islam promotes perfect peace and tranquility in any country where it is practiced.

The thing is that it is recycled news - and they've done it again and again since 2005! If you follow the links for the 3 years (200[b]5[/b], 200[b]6[/b], 200[b]7[/b]) the news have been so-called "updated", you will find just one thing: it's retold in new vocab! The pictures remain the same, the circumctances and gist of the news are the same; there hasn't been any tangible "update"! The BBC has done this with a number of news items in the religious and African news sections - and not many people have noticed.

Wait until 2008, and I bet you, the BBC will definitely recycle the same news - of course, in dressed up journalistic jargon.

Actually, I wasn't that interested in the reaction of Deya's Church members - or that of his pastors who sought to defend his otiose 'miracles'. The issue was that the BBC was playing mind games by bringing the report again and updating it to make it look and sound as if it was something fresh. Have people noticed that the BBC does this often?

Follow the links I posted and see the games that the BBC was playing!

In other threads, I've registered my disavowal against suspicious dramatists on the pulpit. And that was why I didn't bother so much about Deya - we know him here in the UK.

While we pray not to fall victim to any act of violence, it is our responsibility to seriously challenge issues that make us potential victims to such acts.

The love that conquers anything is that which seeks to expose threats so that people can go about their lives without such threats.

I believe that an ideology that promotes jihadist terrorism should be challenged

I believe that the deception under jihad should be challenged and exposed

I believe that only when we understand this problem would we be able to rightly deal with it

I believe that speaking against this jihadist terrorism is the starting point to dealing with it

I believe that we should endeavour to appreciate life and hate death

I believe that me and my family should NOT be made victims at the expense of rewarding jihadists with 72 virgins in any jannah

I believe that we can love Muslims despite differences in beliefs; and practically loving them should include exposing the deception of jihadist terrorism

. . . and I believe that to be quiet in the face of this threat is to consciously choose to be a victim.


If my beliefs on this topic are unwelcome, it would only mean that your appeal should rather have been left unposted.

Is there really a Muslim society/country that is at peace with itself and have sought to promote the welfare of her people? Which one of the Muslim countries has actually been peaceful and tolerant towards non-Muslims?

Everyday, we get to understand a bit more of what Islamic intelligence is all about.

Be honest. Your explanation is not at all the reason why Muhammad pronounced women as half-witted human beings.

There is no basis for that in the Hadith or even in the Qur'an. Men and women are prone to want to go beyond set boundaries; so why is it that only women be singled out and given such pronouncements of being half intelligent?
