As much as I support president Buhari's anti-corruption drive I don't think extraditing Alamieyeseigha will be a good move at all. The man has been prosecuted in Nigeria and he was found guilty, convicted and sentenced appropriately. He served his time and afterwards he was pardoned by the sitting president. The charges they want him to be extradited for relate to the same period he was in power and for which he was earlier convicted here.

A man shouldn't have to face and be punished for the same charges twice in different countries. Since he has served his time here and he has been pardoned, constitutionally he is deemed to be a free man. Extraditing him would amount to allowing the Britons ride roughshod over our laws. Besides we always hear of the UK and the Us asking us to extradite our citizens to face charges, how many times have they extradited their own citizens to Nigeria to be prosecuted?
