Amosun just made himself politically useless.
The more the recent upstarts fail, the more I respect Tinubu's ability to stay ahead despite being out of political office for 12yrs.
Many politicians did not realise that they only got into office in 2015 due to the Buhari wave that swept the country then. It shocked the likes of Gov. Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, who refused to decamp to APC with the rest of the N-PDP, upon calculating that he would be free to contest for the PDP ticket in 2019 when Jonathan concludes his tenure in 2019.
Alas, Jonathan lost in 2015, and Babangida Aliyu also lost his Senatorial bid which he had claimed he was going to the Senate to relax. As 2019 approached, he had become so politically useless that he did not even contest for any position in the PDP.
Senator Shehu Sani too did not realise he became a Senator at the mercy of APC that fielded him. Rather than face his job, he became a clown making banters over serious national issues and engrossing himself with an antagonism of the Kaduna State governor right from day 1. He has now learnt he is a nobody, without riding on the back of Buhari and APC.
Even Saraki was lucky to have decamped to the APC when he did prior to the 2015 elections. Same as Kwankwaso. Both have now learnt that their 2015 electoral success was due to being in APC, and they needed APC more than the APC needed them in 2015. |

The lazy South voting on twitter would soon say the North rigged an election that is statewide and not national.
As for those who say they did not vote today because their presidential candidate lost, maybe they thought today's vote is for the same candidates and positions as 2weeks ago?
The same Kano where Atiku of PDP was rejected in favour of Buhari, is now giving PDP more votes than 2weeks ago. It shows that the candidate matters in the choice made by the electorate. Atiku should take a nap in shame.
Besides, it is very normal to have voter apathy having recently cast a losing vote. And the losing party did not even do anything during the 2weeks interval to motivate its supporters to vote. |

“No other state has achieved what we have achieved, financial independence, as Lagos state; no other nation, they all depend on allocation from the federal government. Lagos State today will not depend on any allocation before we take care of capital needs; we build roads and bridges everywhere from Oregun to many parts of the state.

IloveToMess: Shut up your rotten mouth who is Tunde Bakare , We are talking of a woman that made Jonathan president you are talking of a fake pastor that hanged up to remove Jonathan. When people in Yoruba land both politicians and religious leaders went mute when Yaradua was still ruling as a dead man Dora Akunyili was the only one that cried out in front of Nigerians and the whole world even as a sitting MINISTER , what else do you want?? I reckon that was why Jonathan called Pastor Tunde Bakare and SNG to Abuja, and offered them money for the role they played then, after he had become President upon Yar'Adua's death? Why did Dora not cry long before SNG had taken over the streets of Abuja and Lagos to protest the exclusion of Jonathan? Also, why were there no protests in the SouthEast that Jonathan be made acting President, at a time the Yorubas were protesting for Jonathan's cause? I did not know that Tunde Bakare daring to contest against Jonathan as the running mate of Buhari of CPC in 2011, is regarded as a gang up, rather than democracy in action? Maybe CPC and other parties should have adopted Jonathan of PDP as the sole presidential candidate in Nigeria? |

Asshurbanipali: It is not true. Her alert saved the country at that critical time. She was the minister of information and not like the liar Muhammed we have today.
For Akunyili it is for Nigeria's sake and not about slavish and stupid loyalty But slavish stupid loyalty was betrayed by her, thus making her a traitor just as Turai Yar'Adua regarded her after cooking in her kitchen for Oga President. I'm only thinking with Igbo logic here, and Igbo logic concludes that she betrayed her boss, regardless of her patriotic action. |

You meant to say that Dora Akunyili only grew courage when she saw the likes of pastor Tunde Bakare of Save Nigeria Group, and Prof Wole Soyinka, protesting in Abuja and Lagos that Jonathan must be made acting President in the absence of a sick Yar'Adua. |

Asshurbanipali: That alarm was the only thing that was needed to sack Yaradua. Remember she was serving in that same Yaradua govt as a minister but she knew when to stand up against the cabal and exposed the mess in the presidency then, unlike the type of ministers we have now that play along even when they know that there is danger.
It was Akunyili's alert which actually came first that set other actions in motion. Akunyili was a legend You mean Akunyili was a traitor that betrayed her boss whom she was previously cooking for in the kitchen of Turai Yar'Adua? That was me thinking like an Igbo who claims everyone betrayed him. |

Politics › Re: How Igbo Leaders Caused Nigeria's Current National Political Problems by StOla: 4:10pm On Mar 07, 2019 |
As the coup appeared unsuccessful, J.T. Aguiyi Ironsi, who was supposed to have been killed alongside other military officers, ended up becoming the new military ruler of Nigeria. Rather than immediately arrest and punish the coup plotters, he kept them in detention where they were treated as heroes. This and subsequent actions sowed the seed for the eventual Biafra War . On the 23rd of February 1966 (i.e. a month and 8 days after the first coup popularly but wrongly known as Nzeogwu coup), an Ijaw born Army officer called Isaac Adaka Boro who hailed from Kaima town of present Bayelsa State, declared the secession of the Niger Delta Republic in an attempt to free his Ijaw people from the monumental marginalization they had been suffering under Igbos in the old Eastern Region.
Aguiyi Ironsi immediately ordered Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu to arrest him and hand him over to the military high command under him in Lagos. Ojukwu went all out against Isaac Adaka Boro with federal military might and within 12 fighting days killed 150 Isaac Boro's soldiers, arrested him, stripped him Unclad, and had him driven to Lagos and handed to Ironsi who immediately charged him to court and within two months secured against him a conviction of treasonable felony for which he was sentenced to death by hanging fixed for December 1966 by the Supreme Court.
His 'crime' was that he declared secession of The Niger Delta Republic from Nigeria – sounds familiar?
Meanwhile the Igbo coupists who shed innocent blood of other tribes and even sprayed bullets into the bellies of the pregnant wives of Ahmadu Bello and Brigadier Ralph Shodeinde were not charged to court or arraigned before any military tribunal six months after the coup had taken place. Their dates kept being moved, Aguiyi-Ironsi kept dilly dallying. This formed the reason for subsequent destructive actions that played out.
Isaac Adaka Boro was in detention waiting for December to come for him to join his ancestors. However, a revenge coup was executed on July 29 led by Northern soldiers and Ironsi was killed. Major Yakubu Gowon took over, released Isaac Adaka Boro unconditionally and re-instated him into the Nigeria Army with his previous rank. By this time, dark and ominous clouds had stared to gather over the North as reprisal killings against South Easterners were unleashed by Northerners.
As a result of the large mass of people of South Eastern extraction being maimed and slaughtered by Northerners, on May 30, 1967, Major Odimegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu declared secession of South Eastern from Nigeria and without consulting or apologising to Isaac Boro, declared Biafra Republic and drew a map of Biafra which included the very areas that made up Isaac Adaka Boro's earlier declared Niger Delta Republic for which he fought against him and killed his soldiers.
Seeing such level of arrogance in Ojukwu, Isaac Boro asked Gowon to provide arms for him to crush Biafra by fighting on the Nigerian side in vengeance for Ojukwu's frustration of his own secession declaration 15 months earlier. Isaac Boro, as an Ijaw man conversant with the waterways, led the Nigeria Army through the coastal areas into Igboland to finish off thousands of Ojukwu's soldiers thus leading to the crushing defeat of Biafra.
But today, Igbos accuse Ijaws of betraying them in the war. Who betrayed who? Lesson: Beware of the crocodile shedding tears. |
