highcollide:Prior to 1992 when Tinubu became an elected Senator, he was the Treasurer of Mobil Oil Nigeria. As at 1993, Tinubu was already a Senator representing Lagos at the National Assembly during the short lived Babangida transition. Tinubu was part of the inner caucus of MKO Abiola's team. As at the time that case was filed in 1993, a lot had transpired in Nigeria. The June 12 elections had been cancelled. The money could have been funds meant for any number of political plans/schemes in Nigeria, and could have been owned by Tinubu or on behalf of others. What Tinubu refused to do was state the true source of the funds and only tried to account for it, hence he had to forfeit the funds without further prejudice. There is no narcotics or drugs accusation concerning the funds. I maintain those funds were traceable back to the politics of the Babangida democratic transition programme that had just been truncated at that time in 1993. No drugs involved whatsoever. |
highcollide:The Zombie is you who called me out while challenging a false claim that Tinubu cannot step into America, when indeed America remains Tinubu's playground that he strolls in and out as he likes. I reckon I should have let the false claim slide despite the misinformation due to acute ignorance? |
highcollide:Where in the documents was it alleged that the money was due to drugs/narcotics trade? Yes he forfeited money he couldn't defend its source, for personal and political reasons best known to him, as it concerned the political environment in Nigeria at that time, but show me proof that it was drug related. |
highcollide:Since you know more than the ignoramus who is making claims of drugs/narcotics, why not post your evidence that Tinubu was charged with a drug related offence or that the money he forfeited was categorically ascribed to drugs funds. |
litdutchboy:You are still grasping at straws. Show evidence that Tinubu was charged for drugs/narcotics related offence, or that he forfeited money that was categorically ascribed to drugs. |
litdutchboy:Dude stop beating about the bush. You have not said anything new that I did not know of over 15yrs ago. I am asking you to show me proof that the judge gave judgment on a narcotics case, or that it was explicitly stated that the funds were traceable to drugs/narcotics. The funds were traceable to nothing and Tinubu could not also explicitly show how the funds belonged to him. Hence the funds had to be forfeited. Do you think funds are not stashed for electoral and political purposes, or you think NADECO and the June12 activists carried out their tasks without funding? Or you think Tinubu did not have political godfathers, African and international political support as at that time who provided funds for political resistance in Nigeria and outside Nigeria for Nigerian politics? There is a lot that the funds could have been for, which were better not revealed in American court. Hence the need to walk away and forfeit, without further prejudice. Till today, Tinubu walks freely in and out of America, without diplomatic immunity. |
litdutchboy:Exactly! You should have shown me where the Judge accused Tinubu of drug dealing. Why not show me a charge that reads drug/narcotics offence? You must think I am easily fooled. Is this not the same tale that has been in circulation since Tinubu's campaign for 2nd term as Lagos Governor? Did you think you unearthed anything new? |
highcollide:Is it true that Tinubu cannot step his foot in America? Or you have Tinubu mistaken for Atiku? Can you show me where Tinubu was accused of drug dealing? It seems many of you are new to this old tales. |
I thought I was going to see some proof to the allegations. In the end, it was just beer parlour tales to deflect from the disappointment of Atiku not being able to visit America. |
awelekiti:You mean the very same Tinubu that strolls in an out of the USA as he likes? Maybe you are confusing Tinubu for Atiku. |
litdutchboy:When did probability become fact? The evidence you provided also supposed it could have been funds whose transaction was a violation of US laws. But you prefer to hold on to the narcotics probability, as a better propaganda. Continue holding on to probabilities, while Tinubu continue to saunter in and out of the USA. |
Is Tinubu the one contesting against Atiku? Or is Tinubu the cause of Atiku's American visa woes? Has there ever been a time that it was denied that Tinubu had to forfeit funds in his American bank account at a time before he ever played any role in Nigerian politics and public service? Did the forfeiture ever attribute the funds to drug dealing? Was Tinubu ever criminally convicted by the US courts? Has Tinubu not be strolling in and out of US since then, and even attended the Democratic Party convention of 2012 in North Carolina, that ratified President Obama's 2nd term candidacy of his party? |
Ben Obi should talk about his own party the PDP, while Yemi Osinbajo talks about his own party the APC. Unfortunately for PDP Igbo politicians like Ben Obi, their Igbo online keyboard warriors have already accepted their political handicap, and asserted that if APC gives its 2023 presidential ticket to a Yoruba candidate, they will singlehandedly ensure PDP gives its own ticket to a Northerner who will then select an Igbo to be Deputy as it is their preferred political destiny in servitude to the North. |
kindnyce:Nope |
zombieTRACKER:Ok |
Atiku, what were you previously doing in America such that you even owned a mansion there that was recently put up for sale? Why are you suddenly afraid of the same America you used as a base with your mistress and later wife, Jennifer Douglas? Suddenly you do not like America anymore, but your supporters and presidential campaign officers previously boasted that you had applied for USA Visa. Is it that you did not get assurances that you will not be arrested the moment you step onto the soil of USA, being already indicted there for corruption and money laundering? |
raumdeuter:I will never fall victim to the crocodile tears of the Igbos. Those who do not know the depth of deviousness they are dealing with as it concerns the Igbos and their hypocrisy, need to encounter such past political news and topics like this, and the topic where Yoruba elders complained about marginalization by the Jonathan regime and the ensuing Igbo reaction and rejoice over the complaints made by the Yoruba leaders. |
I choose to blame the PDP government, who despite the violence perpetrated across the country since 1999, failed to prosecute and convict even a half human being. Jos riots, no conviction. Kano riots, no conviction. Kaduna riots, no conviction. Sagamu riots, no conviction. Ketu/Mile12 riots, no conviction. Aba riots, no conviction. Odi massacre, Zaki Biam massacre, no conviction. Fulani terrorist herdsmen from the Jonathan to Buhari regime, have been moving freely and issuing threats, yet no arrest, prosecution or conviction. Obasanjo the letter writer, you are one of those who have failed to provide justice to ensure peace. Those who succeeded to the Presidency after you, including Buhari, have also embraced this total disregard for human life in Nigeria. |
xcellencia:Educate your ignorance with the American styled presidential system we run, and the US presidency and its officials, then you will understand who a Chief of Staff is, and how powerful the role is. |
Corrinthians:Hahahaha! I hope you will also like when I objectively criticize Buhari for the poor fight against corruption within his own presidency and the general corruption that remains unabated in the civil service? |
Aisha Buhari is the first democratic first lady to have been shut out of power by the husband, as it should be. Patience Jonathan was summoning service chiefs to report to her on security challenges. If Aisha is referring to the much maligned Kyari who is Chief of Staff, then she should remember he is only discharging his duties as Chief of Staff, who is by default the most powerful officer in the presidency after the president, and alone has total access to the President. Even a vice-president does not have the control and authority a Chief of Staff is reposed with by virtue of his principal, the President. A vice-president is only as relevant as what roles the president delegates to him/her, and the constitutional succession to power in the absence of the president. |
I will someday tell my grandkids about the havoc called PDP that once ruled Nigeria for 16yrs of failure. I will also tell them how Nigerians eventually summoned courage to sack them forever. |
You cannot force those who do not want to join and support APC to do so. Majority Yorubas support APC and will vie for its presidential ticket for 2023, just as I expect minority Yorubas who support PDP to also jostle for the PDP presidential ticket for 2023. Leave the Igbos alone to the PDP that turned their region to Dubai and gave them 2nd Niger Bridge on paper. Besides, the Igbos have already accepted their loss to Yorubas in 2023, saying that once APC fields a Yoruba candidate, they will somehow singlehandedly ensure PDP does not waste its time fielding a politically handicapped Igbo who would disgracefully lose to a Yoruba. They would rather have PDP field a Northerner, who would then give the Igbos their deserved role of deputy. What many do not know is that Igbos have long realised that they need to hide behind their Northern masters to have any political relevance. Hence their anger that when the North had to rule through Buhari, their traditional deputy role was not reserved for them. They have found a way out with Atiku, and their anger and animosity towards the North or HausaFulani from 2014 has suddenly evaporated. They forgot that a Tofa/Ugoh ticket of the NRC was soundly defeated by an Abiola/Kingibe ticket of the SDP, even in Kano the home state of Bashir Tofa. It is not a good feeling to be politically handicapped like the Igbos are, so I commiserate with their unpleasant situation. |
I like it when people like the OP are miserable on a supposedly happy Christmas day. Continue to hyperventilate in agony. |
Each party will likely present a Southern candidate that best reflect its support base in the South. However, Igbos have already alluded to their certain political failure if APC presents a Yoruba Southerner as presidential candidate, because truly, they know of the hate their tribe have been propagating across the country and expect to be paid in kind. Igbos have all accepted that they cannot defeat any other southerner in a national party primary, or in a general election where another major national party boast of a Southern candidate that is not Igbo. That is how much inferiority or self inflicted political irrelevance the Igbos have ascribed to themselves among their Southern neighbours, as it concerns national politics. So the Igbos would rather not contest and fail, but would find a way to get a Northerner they can support to defeat their worst fear passed on from generation to generation, which is the towering shadow of the Yorubas. |
The dude has replied and clarified that he never referred to himself as a UN youth ambassador, but the Nigerian ambassador to the Youth Assembly who usually hold their meetings at the UN premises. |
QuietHammer:Beaf. |
Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural body, on Sunday said Nigeria would continue to wallow in “abject socio-political, economic and developmental blindness until an Igbo man becomes the President.”I reckon the Igbo ruled SouthEast is already like Dubai? Or Igboland was like Venice or London or Rome prior to British colonisation? Extreme tribal delusions as highlighted by the Ohaneze spokesman, can no longer be termed a psychiatric disorder, but culture. The typical mindset of the Igbo has always been that Nigeria should have been left for Igbos to rule, while others watch on as spectators. Only an Igbo will ever be good enough for all available federal positions, as attempted by Azikiwe and NCNC in the federal alliance with the Tarawa Balewa government. If you want the presidency, get off your high horse of arrogance, and campaign for it like you need it across Nigeria like every other tribe you denigrate have to do. |
Saraki and David Mark's partners in the legislathief arm. Saraki slept overnight in the National Assembly car park, just so as to scheme his way into the Senate presidency early the next morning unopposed, while his opponents where in a party meeting he was also billed to attend. Unfortunately for him and his supporters, the goodies he expected from the position never came, such that some turned into Armed Robbers robbing banks with Saraki provided vehicles and parked at the Kwara state government house, while Saraki himself lamented how his plans to "empower" his teeming supporters with his position as Senate President, was foiled numerously by the APC federal executive. While the budget bribes that Jonathan steadily supplied to David Mark's senate, were never forthcoming from Buhari for Saraki's senate. |
I still fail to see the fraud here? |
They used it to build their party secretariat that remains unfinished. |
MURIC must have a hand in this nonsense. |
