Sir koruji i quite agree with you on the importance of the road project, but the fact remains that the laws of the land must be respected. Now look at this people that have been giving control of the road for over 2 years now trying to get land dubiously through OGD. i will personally appeal to Amosun to let them have the land if i were one of his advisers, we all know the end result of the road project. It is failure. Bicourtney have a track record of poor service anyway

God bless you. More importantly for me is the question Is Bi-Courtney doing the road as a social service or profit venture? Why subvert due process? Its sheer blackmail.

That company is just not competent. MMA 2 is an eyesore when it rains. Just typical Babalakin.

He is the sort of Nigerian we should all celebrate and encourage.

Gbawe, you sure? Okorocha has the history of being the only politician who promoted a party Action Alliance and at contested under PDP during the presidential primaries in 2007.

Okorocha has a complex issue. Seriously.

Can't fathom all the praises for a loudmouth when a Sullivan Chime, laid back, walks the thought.

Spiritual intervention or marketing for a partnership with the church in the execution of the project? Dr. Babalakin is a staunch muslim and I seriously doubt he went there to pray.

boriswole:

He said: “There’s nobody who wants to give out money. This road was given to Nigerian Banks to finance; Nigerian Banks don’t have a long-term contract. We were holding meetings upon meetings, but you discover that all they can give is money for a year or two years and what you need is money for 15 years.

http://thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/12674-lagos-ibadan-expressway-god-will-subdue-forces-against-completion-says-adeboye.html

Dr Babalakin is a daredevil borrower and with his reputation, no bank will partner with him. His poorly completed MMA2 project still has a large debt over-hang.

What does this say about the jury system? Are jurors such legal minded people as to be able to see through the labyrinth of arguments and the counter? Politics / Re: Imo Will Pay N18,000 Minimum Wage, Says Okorocha by stormm: 9:12pm On Jul 06, 2011
Hmm. This Okorocha too talk. Basic economics shows that the problem of Nigeria is neither N18,000 or N50,000 basic salary, but the attendant inflation and rise in cost of living. Without a corresponding increase in infrastructure development, increase in capital investments in the economy, massive industrialisation, improvement in energy supply, provision of affordable housing, introduction and implementation of policies that make the salary meaningful, the salary increment will come to nought.

How has the economy fared for all the salary increments since Udoji?

Secondly, promising everything at once seems to me like being in a haste without taking note of the undulating terrain.

Waiting to see how it plays out.

Or you think this reconcialiation was a mere happenstance. Of course, they feraed the 'rascal' is coming to liberate Kwarans from the papa n pikin bondage!

Like or hate him, Tinubu is the most politically astute, energetic and consciously active politician of his generation.

Now, more to the point, I dont just hate Mr. Gbenga, I detest him with an unfathomable passion. I hate his person, I detest his politics. He unleashed a savagery in Ogun State that turned a normally sane dude into an animal. Imagine a situation where you suddenly see your guy carrying a gun, savagely threatening peeps you are with, turned the traditional institution you revered into a kind of joke, made the state into a situation of anomy.

no regrets on Dani Elebo(apologies Prof Soyinka)

X-factoria:

Guy, take it easy!!!

X-factoria,

I'm still trying to fathom what your issues are. Are you saying other options have been tried before the concessioning or that the so called PPP arrngement wsa not in any way untoward? 1) Ogun State govt house VI was liaison office, sure provisions were made to the upkeep like the Abuja liaison office. But what sold/concessioned for peanuts. The house is on Ahmadu Bello Way, opposite the Bar beach. Apoje Palm Oil Mills; A farm settlement the govt NEVER invested a kobo into, generates enough revenue for its upkeep. My parents were distributors of Palm Oil from Apoje. End result -b concessioned. Gateway Hotel Ijebu Ode: Concessioned for N20m for a whole of 25 years.

Now convince me, economic brigandage or unbundling in-efficiency?
Politics / Re: Daniel Defends The Renting Out Of Olumo Rock! by stormm: 11:29am On Jul 01, 2011
@OP,

The ex-commissioner of Information has come again to defend the untoward policies of his principal with so much pasion, one is almost hoodwinked into believing their rubbish. It is apparent what Ecstasy does to people, a frame of mind you believe people around you are dolts. If truly the concessions were in the interest of the people, do they need to be rushed or shrouded in so much secrecy?

The guy needs to go back to school to learn the finer arts of image management. Whitewashing a decrepit property is not the same as a renovation.
Politics / Re: Daniel ‘sold' Olumo Rock Before Leaving Office (lol) by stormm: 4:58pm On Jun 30, 2011
" Gateway Hotel Abeokuta was valued at #1.4b but was concessioned for #300m. Gateway Hotel Ijebu ode was valued at #700m, but was concessioned for #100m. Gateway Hotel Ota was valued at #630m, but again concessioned for #130m, while Gateway Hotel annex Ijebu ode was valued at #132m, but was concessioned for #20m, all of these for 25yrs respectively. we will definitely step on toes to retrieve our assets back" -Amosun

Gateway Hotel, Ijebu Ode concessioned for N20m for 25 years? Only an evil minded OGD has the capacity for such wanton looting, brigandage, sabotage. Or are people saying that hotel that hosts various conferences thru'out the year does not make up to a million in a year before being concessioned? OGD will surely rot in the hottest part of hell.
Politics / Re: Daniel ‘sold' Olumo Rock Before Leaving Office (lol) by stormm: 2:46pm On Jun 30, 2011
@compaq,

I suggest you read through what SIA has said. What do you make of the concessioning; Economic brigandage or unbundling inefficiency?

How inefficient is Ogun State House, VI, Lagos. Do you know that Apoje Oil Farm has always been a profitable venture? FYI, Apoje Oil Farm is one of the farm settlements, legacy Western region. Are you aware that the same OGD was claimed they invested in turnaround for Gateway hotels? Before concessioning, have they considered other privatisation options, by today's property valuation in Nigeria, are you saying OGD sold barren land? C'mon.

Even the federal govt under Obj considered various options before unbundling. And in cases where fraud or untoward action is suspected, the privatisation is reversed. For example, Transcorp/Nitel, Folio Comminications/Daily Times(Anosike brothers are currentlt being prosecuted) among several others.
Politics / Re: Daniel ‘sold' Olumo Rock Before Leaving Office (lol) by stormm: 8:07am On Jun 30, 2011
COMPAQ:

There is nothing wrong with concessioning Olumo rock. What has the government done with it all these years. Did the money from it ever reach govt in those years? I am not saying the terms in all these OGD deals are correct, but then the value of something is the price people are willing to pay for it. If you like, value NITEL at $2bln, but if the all the bids revolve around $600mln, then $600mln is the value. Simple.

I think Amosun is talking too much. I have been to Gateway hotel Abeokuta around 15years ago and it was an embarrassment then, so where is he getting grandoise valuations from. There is nothing wrong with privatising these things. If Amosun thinks he can actually run all these companies he will discover that the cost of running them exceeds the revenue they bring in.

I'm sure you are aware that privatisation is not just concessioning, The main problem here is OGD used concessioning to perpetuate fraud. So get that and stop whinning rubbish. If the bolded are your opinion, then shouldn't the incumbent look into the issues and right all wrongs.
Politics / Re: Daniel ‘sold' Olumo Rock Before Leaving Office (lol) by stormm: 7:41am On Jun 30, 2011
talk true:
Let him leave the debt as it is, use only the federal allocation and the Internal revenue, to work in his tenure so he can prove that governors can work with what they have

And in your thinking, bolded is enough to pay the N18,000 and still develop infrastucture?

More importantly, are you just a commentator or you are really interested in the affairs of Ogun State?
Politics / Re: Kwara Begins Census Of Jobless Youths by stormm: 11:35am On Jun 29, 2011
