IbroSaunks: Here's my question. How often do you see "gonna" or "twenny" in American official publications?Thank God you said official, writing on Nairaland is not an official publication therefore people should stop correcting others on NL |
Please for the benefit of everyone, I mean those that can and cannot speak.. Spoke.. Spake... English very well, can we have our own NIGERIAN ENGLISH. William Shakespeare is an English poet but the English he used then is not what we use today, Moral: English keeps changing everyday... Anyone trying to correct another persons english, should probably go back to william shakespeare. We as Nigerians we have the right to our own english. English has evolved and it is still evolving, the Anglo saxons, the romans. The truth is that English is actually a blend of many languages even the anglo saxon had a blend of the dialects of the west germanic tribes. Nigerian English all the way |
Inferiority complex is when you try as much as possible to imitate a white mans language. We are Nigerians and if Americans can refer to "want to" as "wanna", "got to" as "gonna" and "twenty" as twenny, even sef the digit 1900 is referred to as Nineteen Hundred instead of one thousand nine hundred. Is that not GBAGAUN to the highest level? NO its not.. Its called American English... Who is fooling who? Abegii all those GBAGAUN that you read about everyday including the ones dey claimed Patience made are nothing but NIGERIAN ENGLISH. E0D |

I believe TRUE pastors will forgive all that have insulted them just like CHRIST begged my Lord to forgive the people that crucified him... OR a TRUE man of God can curse you back like Elisha did to the 42 kids that called him a baldman were mauled by bears... Since we are living in the new testament, your guess is as good as mine... |

Why collect money for fees from the students in the first place, if they know that they are going to close the schools later.. They should pay back whatever amount that they collected from each student.. Otherwise I will only see the government as a fraudulent one |
