What a waste. I recall all the pomp when handing over the helicopter to the army. They painted it useless colour, probably innoson weaponized it with disregard to the weight limits of the copter. They tried to take off and the heavy bird toppled over....

You do not need to pay any tithe. You are better off and better rewarded helping a person in need than giving it to the church

PoliticsRe: We Must Fight Corruption For Its Damage On Nigeria Economy - VP Osinbajo by Stylz69(m): 8:40am On Sep 21, 2016
presidency:
OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT

PRESS RELEASE

WE MUST FIGHT CORRUPTION FOR ITS DAMAGE ON NIGERIA ECONOMY-VP

It is important that Nigerians insist that the problem of corruption must be dealt with considering the extent of the damage it has caused the country's economy.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, made the assertion today while receiving a delegation of the University of Lagos Alumni Association that paid him a courtesy call at the Presidential Villa.

"We've watched corruption fighting back, some people even said bring back corruption, but not the man on the street," according to Prof. Osinbajo who added that the nation has witnessed excessive corruption.

Said he : "no economy can tolerate the level of corruption seen in Nigeria without consequences. Look at the Northeast, while a war is going, Nigerian lives being lost, some local governments had been taken over, and yet people cannot account for $15B meant for security equipment purchases."

"The corruption has been so much. Look at the sheer amount of money stolen and decisions taken that fuels corruption, decisions taken just with the sole aim of cornering national resources," the Vice President lamented.

While explaining the Buhari administration's approach to the fight against corruption, the Vice President noted that "we are not sitting down focussing on it, all we do is to empower the relevant agencies EFCC and co to do their jobs. Our main focus is the national economy."

Continuing he said "what catches our attention is the kind of discoveries we get and hear of daily." But he observed that Nigeria is still blessed with honest people, adding that as a nation it is important to pay serious attention to issues of integrity.

According to him, regarding the current government, "I can say is one that is completely focussed on dealing with issues that concerns this country. I work everyday with the President so I can say so. He is totally focussed on how to make this country a better place to live."

The UNILAG Alumni Association was led by Dr. Sunny Kuku who noted the group's support for the Buhari administration, expressing readiness to assist in any way necessary. He said the members of the Alumni Association were proud that one of them rose to the high office of the Vice President. Prof. Osinbajo said he was glad to receive the group in his office and grateful to be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Speaks as if corruption is in the past whereas it still thrives in the current administration. Ask Abba Kyari who turn himself to fund raiser for Bayelsa Gubernatorial elections and collected 500million from MTN... Dambazau, Buratai, Amaechi. Fight corruption in its entirety or don't fight it at all but quit the talk.

Not really useful over a long distance cos it uses Bluetooth. However using crowd sourcing you may be fortunate to locate your item however that relies on another trackr user being nearby.

Car TalkRe: Single Exhaust Vs Double Exhaust by Stylz69(m): 9:44am On Jun 28, 2016
MontyNG:
I thought the choice of single or dual exhaust system depends on the engine layout... So this question is like asking what kind of engine you would like!

Let me explain...

Straight line engines - or L engines will have single exhausts! eg If all the cylinders of the engine are in a single line, then it will only exit on one side and therefore you'll have a single exhaust!
Popular examples in cars in Nigeria are all your "4plug" engines that have all the cylinders in a line

If it's a V engine... then you'll have a dual exhaust setup because you'll have 2 lines of cylinders with each exiting on each side of the engine
eg are your V6, V8 and V12 engines (V12 not so common)

Then you have your W engines which will have 4 lines of cylinders and therefore, you'll get 4 exhausts
eg W8, W12, and W16 engines (Bugatti veyron for example is a W16 engine... one of the few W16s out there and the biggest engine out there at the moment)

That's how it is... Having a single exhaust doesn't limit the flow of anything like the OP said so it can't be a disadvantage... It's just what the engine needs!
Not necessarily. Some 4 cylinder engines actually have dual exhausts ( though i cannot confirm whether any exhaust gases come out of the second one)and some V6 engines have single exhaust ( though some SUV and car manufactures crate a dummy second exhaust for looks only) eg the Prado had only one exhaust but they create a dual exhaust look on the rear fender making it seem like it's a dual

InvestmentRe: How I Was Cheated By Mutual Benefits Life Assurance Ltd by Stylz69(m): 6:46pm On May 25, 2016
These insurance companies are all the same however my experience was through African Alliance. I started in 2012 and was contributing 200,000 monthly with a payout of 24 million in the event of my death. Well ...I didn't die in the 2 years and 1 month I was contributing so I decided to cash out and move my money to other things considering it wasn't generating any interest and all. The broker told me when I was signing on that I could cash out after two years without penalty. Alas, when I did, I got on 4,790,000 instead of 5 million . When I confronted the broker, he offered to forfeit his commissions which I later told him not to. It seems like the broker got a commission from my monthly payments. The thing is I never even defaulted, rather I even paid for months ahead.

I've actually been told A and E...na so the light dey be when e enter naija and the option of getting a 'rewire' to remove the light. I was also at a mechanics and warned the chap working on my wheel to be wary of my ABS sensors. Another guy walks up to me and asks what ABS is cos his light is on. I tell him to talk to the mechanic working on his vehicle to sort it out. When he mentions the ABS issue to them...they just stammer and end up saying 'oga, na so easy dey be'
Car TalkRe: Pros And Cons Of Venza by Stylz69(m): 11:43am On May 17, 2016

You didn't specify the year model you're looking forward to purchase.

An Avalon, a venza, a highlander, an RX lexus, an ES lexus are all based off Camry platforms. In fact same engines and most common parts are shared. If you're not comfortable with driving a Camry, then you shouldn't feel comfy in any of these.

Note that I never said I had any issue with a camry or driving one. I just said I'd rather not pay the price of toll for an SUV for what is essentially a camry.

I've worked on and driven lots of these cars, they're good. They're fast, and almost at par with premium or luxury cars. The Fabric Upholstery's were designed using premium grade fabric (actually Toyota uses premium grade fabric in most of their interiors), the JBL synthesis audio is exhilarating, very very sweet rich sounds.handling, well, its not a Ferrari so don't expect sporty handling, don't even start talking fuel economy, or else go buy a corolla or picanto or something.
Venza, to me, is a great buy.

Well... I love the interior especially the panoramic roof but the 4 cylinder AWD is boring...it's just a big camry and yes I hate that I pay 300 naira toll at the airport.

PoliticsRe: Subsidy: Muslims Call On Labour To Dialogue Not Occupy Nigeria by Stylz69(m): 6:01pm On May 12, 2016
Only the tiny cabal would have benefitted from removal of subsidy under Jonathan. This informed the mass demonstrations at that time. But poor Nigerians stand to benefit if subsidy is removed under a transparent leader. That is why we do not need to agitate over the current increase. It is a difficult phase that will pass onto prosperity.

PoliticsRe: Proof Buhari's/APC Fuel Subsidy Is A Scam Planned Months Ago To Decieve Us by Stylz69(m): 4:50pm On May 12, 2016
fiizznation:
This is actually the right time to deregulate the downstream oil sector. What's the essence of paying exuberant subsidy to the major oil marketers when the price of oil has crashed in the market? Though I still think the 145 naira per litre is kind of too much{ maybe 120/115 naira per litre is ok and somehow understandable}, but the subsidy removal timing is spot on and every reasonable Nigerian should support it.
The government never used the term deregulate. The fact is they have not deregulated. You cannot peg prices to a ceiling and say the market is deregulated. What if my costs exceed 145 naira. What if I decide I want to cater for cars that require premium high octane fuel which costs more. You then tell me I cannot sell more than 145 naira. Lastly, you do not increase prices when the product is still unavailable!!! You just put more money in the pockets of the black marketers.

Silly! FRSC and their silly ideas. Tell me how you want to implement this. Spot checks? Use of binoculars? Secondly, is this really under their purview? This should be done by the VIO. However, those ones are only concerned with targeting vehicles they feel can pay spot fines if found without complete papers while letting visibly road unworthy vehicles to pass by

PoliticsRe: Fuel Scarcity: Nigerians Are Being Deceived – Marketers Reveal by Stylz69(m): 1:47pm On Apr 22, 2016
Even with an 'ineffectual baboon ' as president, we never suffered such a protracted fuel crisis as we are seeing. At least he was effective in ending scarcity. This administration is totally clueless and cannot seem to figure out how to tackle this issue. DPR issues threats and their staff go behind and take kickback from station owners. Fact is tankers are being diverted to those areas where they can brazenly sell at 180-200 naira per litre...those that are not diverting sell at the dead of night to black marketers else tell me how those countless people standing on the road selling in jerry cans get their fuel...unless of course they have their own import license. That's all

PoliticsRe: Present Condition Of Roads In Aba Abia State by Stylz69(m): 3:52pm On Apr 20, 2016
dfrost:
When I referred to existing structures, I wasn't implying only roads. Basic infrastructure like the ones you mentioned: refuse. The government can decide to map out a portion of the state for waste disposal/management. An individual can't do it lest the owners of the land lynch him or her to death.

The area you where mentioning is likely not to roads only but housing et al. So roads is a major problem not the only problem.

Aba is to the East as Lagos is to the West albeit without a seaport. People used to come from the North to get materials for clothing et al but no longer the case because of the roads.

I concur with you on the point of the residents and their manner of approach wrt refuse disposal. It's a culture thing and not necessarily governmental but the government has to put measures in place for moving refuse/waste at the right time.

Lastly I'm not from Abia but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be concerned. I have friends there so I visit the town once in a while.
Well inform your friends to save up so they can move out of Aba to this new district. It will have a proper waste management disposal plan so they won't keep getting high on Methane from the decomposing waste. I won't say that Aba is beyond repairs but the state of those roads are unbelievable. How could they have been left to degrade to such a level. The Governor is passionate about public private partnership so I believe he may leave waste management to the private sector. Who knows??
