@flyboy zee as promised here is 0W20 AND MOBIL 1 5W 30 engine oil .
|
ceetee: Still waiting..............You can get genuine Toyota WS ATF from Gudu market or inside Apo mechanic village. It costs between 8000 and 8500 for the 4 litre can. I knw cos I drained mine bout a month ago |
Flyboy Zee: My 2002 Acura TL Type S engine requires a SAE 5W20 graded engine oil. I searched the length and breadth of Naija, but couldn't get the oil, so I had to settle for Total Quartz 9000 graded SAE 5W40. I believe that would also work for you. As for the guy saying Mobil 1 is 5W20, I don't think that's true, Mobil 1 is graded 0W50. See the pictures attached below.@Flyboy Zee, you obviously have not searched the length and breadth of Naija assuming by that, you mean a trip to your local mechanic workshop and back. Please do not misquote me, i said i used Toyota OEM Engine oil for my car which is 5W20, however when i was using an 05 corolla i used Mobil 1 0W30...and Mobil 1 isn't graded only 0W50. See link http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_0W-20.aspx Like i said, you will find 5W 20 and 5W 30 Engine oils at Gudu Market in Abuja. When i have time, i will go to the market and take some pictures to prove it, till then...visit the link and do some more research |
I suggest you use the oil recommended for your vehicle. Let me share my experience; i recently got the car and the driver who was to deliver it serviced it in lagos using Mobil XHP which is 15w40 ( i think) or 20w50... anyway, i drove the car for a few days and didn't like the performance. It was sluggish and my gas mileage was poor ( it was doing 24.5 mpg average). I changed the oil to the recommended 5W20 and the performance improved. Mileage improved slightly as well ( bout 29 mpg). |
Gudu market in Abuja. My car uses 5w 20 and 0w 20. I get my Toyota OEM Engine oil from that market. You can get Mobil 1 5w 30 from there as well. So if you have a contact in Abuja, ask him/her to go to Gudu market. Mobil 1 5W30 is 2000 naira for 0.965 litre bottle. |
What of memorials on our highways on which people die daily or are road users are less human than does that travel by air? |
So, i scoured the internet and found this on the Toyotanation forum. Press Lock Wait a half a second Press Lock Wait a second Press and Hold Lock for three seconds (the car should beep to confirm) This was the sequence i unintentionally did and started the car using the remote. |
Today I stumbled across a feature I never knew my car had and I want to know if it is a factory fitted option or 3rd party. I was trying to unlock the car using the remote buttons on the key. I didn't realise I was pressing the lock button and I guess I held it down for about 2 seconds. To my greatest surprise, the dash lit up and the car started. I was startled and tried to unlock the doors but they wouldn't respond to the key press so I used the key to unlock it manually. Has anyone experienced such? Note that the key is the 4 button key and no extra key fob. Is this a glitch or do these cars come with a remote start feature? |
I am sure the vehicle has at least a Third Party Insurance so get him to contact his insurance company. They will bear the cost of you repairs... in principle! In reality, most of the insurance out there are fake. |
parismarc: Zenith Bank-Maitama branch, all d gals in that branch r yellow and sexy.Yellow? More like covered in layers of pancake.I agree though, it seems like being fair-skinned is a criteria for getting a job in the maitama branch. |
Please contact me if you have a Peugeot 406 V6 for sale. Thank you |
Though not a honda but a similar thing happened to my toyota. Gave it to a mechanic to repair my brakes and he returned with a huge bill telling me he 'serviced' my gearbox; he drained the ATF and filled it with LUBCON instead of the toyota Type IV. Two weeks later my transmission began to slip and the gearbox finally packed up. I called the mechanic and he said it will cost 30k to repair; i gladly paid, still the gearbox died. I finally had to change the gearbox, however a few weeks later i began experiencing hard shifting from the gearbox. Mechanic said it was the gearbox being too powerful, another said it was the engine mounting...finally visited a garage and got the vehicle scanned. It threw up an error code relating to my shift solenoid. I quickly 'googled' it and found out there was a recall on toyota vehicles experiencing that fault and it was a 'brainbox' fault. However, the person who scanned it said that was academic and said the gearbox had to be stripped down and the solenoid changed. I paid for the scan and drove off to Apo, bought a new brainbox, put it in...PROBLEM SOLVED!! LESSONS LEARNED 1. Don't give your car to quacks who will put destroy your transmission 2. A diagnostic scan is always a good step tp take especially if you have a check light warning 3. GOOGLE is your friend. Trust me, there is no fault a car will have that hasn't already been experienced by someone else. There is a lot to learn from online forums. ...... Finally sold the car and got a later model; however the driver i hired to bring it to Abuja decided the ATF was low and put in Mobil ATF 220. I nearly killed the Arrow!!! As soon as the vehicle arrived, i drained the transmission and put the recommended WS ATF. I learned my lesson and wasnt about to buy a new transmission Mechanics and drivers are car killers!! |

Hey Ikenna, What Peugeot brand would you recommend; im torn between a 407 or 307 CC. What year/ engine type of these models would you recommend? Also, in terms of spares, reliability, fuel economy...which would you recommend? |
I think Jeep is a trademarked name for Grand Cherokee SUV... In other words, A Jeep is an SUV but an SUV isn't necessarily a Jeep ... |
