happytbaby:Thanks! Just what I wanted to hear. My Dh and I have talked about Baptism(im a Catholic) and child dedication but not naming. I just assumed since we wouldn't be around family there was no need for it. I guess we would have to talk about it cos FIL is late and if MIL insists on having it done, the expenses would still be on us. Thanks simababe. I guess its more str8 forward for muslims as per same day paroles....no much preparation needed. |
DrPrincess ok. But the baby already gets its name written on the BC on the day of birth, right? So the naming ceremony is just for formalty? |
tbash16:Oh really? Kai! Means we have to start budgeting for that. But is it compulsory? ![]() |
My own question is a bit derailing but its kinda connected ![]() A manager in my office asked why I decided to birth in the US and deny my Parents (well not mine cos we don't do it) and my inlaws the joys of Day 8 naming ceremony In his opinion (not that it matters to me), 'better healthcare' is an excuse and I shouldn't use that to deny the grandparents their joy.So my question is to the Yoruba 's amongst us that don't get to travel with their mothers...How do you handle the 'naming ceremony ' issue? |
No Nnystc. But why is he on Nairaland? Is he not Canadian? |
praiseworks:Sorry for the late response. If you are still taking 100mg of vitb6 then that is the culprit for delayed AF. Stop the vit b6 and AF would return in a few days. Sorry if you mentioned me in the last couple of days and I dint respond. Hope you have gotten your answers already. Baby dust. |
Shamstiel:1 tip that worked for me was keep checking for available slots until I found something close enough for me. |
seyewest:Maybe the VO was a woman....cos even me im thinking. Why would an 8months pregnant woman fly across the continent for a 2day trip? Was it vacation for 2days? Did they transport something illegal? Why did they take the risk? That's why he was asking if going with a medical report stating his wife was fit for the trip would make any difference. |
seyewest:I have read and reread the OPs post and unless he edited his post( or pregnancy brain no let me understand ), I don't see where he said his wife is currently pregnant....her baby is 3months old now...so if she really is pregnant, we need to give the guy an award ![]() |
tyosho:You should do airbnb. Got a good deal on there. Few pointers....... Don't forget to check the filters and ensure where you are renting is family friendly. Some people charge for extra guests.... contact the host to ensure your baby doesn't count as extra guests. And also ask of their tolerance for having a new born around You can ask for deals/discount.... I did and my future host gave me a very good deal. If i remember anything else id let you know. Cheers |
Ladyguinivere and seyewest I don't think thats what the poster meant. He travelled with his wife to SA when she was 8months pregnant for 2days (very risky, I wonder what the purpose of the trip is). I believe the wife has birthed the child hence the 'my wife and 3months old baby' applying for US Visa. So the purpose of trip to US can't be child birth (unless there's some sort of inconsistency. |
OmoBendel24:You wan dash me VO work? ![]() |
^^^oga Austine2020 her answer "I was stamped for 6months so I decided to stay for 2 months instead of 2weeks" does not really support the strong ties IMO. If she could tell the VO she 'just changed her mind' about how long she was staying just because she was stamped in for 6months don't you think the VO wouldn't see the kids as a strong enough tie? Or was she with the kids on that trip? Was she with her whole family? She changed her mind on a wimp. She can decide not to return to Nigeria at all on her next trip...... That's what I think anyways.... I wasn't the VO. |

eigmaticme:Teamie im really shocked and sad to hear this. Haba! Just yesterday I learnt one of our other sept mamas miscarried and another one again today? God please console our mamas who have just suffered loses and grant them double for their trouble. Affliction shall not rise again. You shall become pregnant again and have a stress free pregnancy. You shall deliver safely at the due time and bring forth healthy babies. You shall carry your babies in your arms and they would suckle your breasts. Your children shall grow and call you mummy. Your children shall fulfill their destinies. In Jesus name, Amen. God please there shall be no more loses in team September. Enough is enough!! We decree that we shall all carry to term and deliver safely, there shall be no lose to mother, babies and father.. |
First of all, id like to welcome our newly registered mamas lastbornop and omoNwa to team September. I wish you healthy remainder of your pregnancies and safe delivery. Id update the list. For the genital warts ish, maybe mama kafy4bill can help? Or any experienced mama should pls torchlight the matter for my teamie |
desoul:Positive: PTA would become easier to get Negative: 'CBN' rate is no longer 199naira...it's now whatever the bank 'decides' to sell at |
mamarazi:Lol. Most times guys too, like girls, don't know what they want. After a birthday dinner with his family for his dad's bday my ex calls me aside to tell me he had been double dating. I asked him why and he said its cos 'im a wife material, his family likes me and it was putting pressure on him cos he wasn't ready for marriage. I smiled and told him we have to end tinz cos I dint want to 'put pressure' on him and he started crying. Dude actually got angry at me for not crying during the break up ![]() Only for him to show up some months to my wedding to propose marriage, get thee behind me satan! 7years after and he's still lamenting about his screw up. |
mamas please what lagos market can i find this kind of Abaya? to wear cloth don tire me

mznumbers:You should just be confident! 250k job isn't a small job, so just try and exude confidence and you should be fine. You still have some days before the interview, you can make a weekend trip to cotonou or ghana so you can at least have a travel history...just to show you would not abscond on the first opportunity you get to leave Nigeria. |
Izzystevens:They have already scanned the passport picture before returning to her. No worries. |
Tallgirlslim just breathe, you shall be fine. Please do not resign your job..the economy is so bad right now that I would not even advise my enemy to quit getting at least a monthly stipend. If possible, you can ask for unpaid leave for a month or two so at least your baby would get to 3months and in that time hire a nanny(a mature woman, not these small girls). So you spend that 2 months watching the nanny, it might leave you some confidence to leave your baby to work. Or you can get a nanny just before you put to bed and watch her during your annual leave, then resume work. You can choose to carry your nanny and baby to work with you. Meanwhile, have they categorically told you you are not entitled to maternity leave? |
talltosyne: Thanks Talltosyne, I had no idea. Mowojuoluwa may God replenish what you have lost in tripple folds. Awaiting your return soonest. |
Fvine:Thanks dear. Sorry about your cold. |
osas4g:Congratulations dear, may he be a source of joy to your household. |
switlolly27:Done! Welcome back dear. Team blue or pink? |
Temyb my heart goes out to you, but guess what? Your babies are alive and doing well. You are in a trusted system where we are sure both your babies would come out strong and healthy. I don't think they have to stay upto 6weeks tho, they might be discharged a lot earlier (that's what you should be saving your energy praying for now). I watched a program on TLC where the doctors had to deliver the woman of her quadruplets at 31weeks and the babies were discharged to go home with their oxygen tanks. A mama in the pregnancy thread just lost her baby that came at 34weeks in Nigeria When the bill eventually comes, negotiate negotiate negotiate!!! and draw out a payment plan. Its not illegal. Even countries are owing money. |
Ajujuju2:Hactually I hear the pain for CS isnt as bad as that for Myomectomy (Fibroid surgery). So I should be able to 'chest' the CS pain too...by Gods grace. |
Nnystc:Me? Spoilt? Mba kwa!! When people are aspiring to be Hebrew women, na Virgin Mary be my own roles models ![]() I rep team pregnant virgins ![]() |
If I choose CS cos I want my Vjay to remain tight for my husband....who e concern? |
chloe7:Yea I can attest to this. My last trip in October i got LOS -JFK-LOS for 185k and that wasn't the cheapest o, it was just my preffered airline. |
