my husband is scared of the idea of water his doctor friend said it worsens colic in baby and causes the baby to fall sick in the nearest future but I gave my first son water very well before he was 6months. I don't know why doctors keep saying water is dangerous for a baby that is not up to 6months

Do exclusive breastfeeding so you dont have to give water then.

Please mothers is it wrong to give babies below 3months water, I know medically it's wrong but my mother and mother-in-law has been on my neck to give water mainly because I'm using formula and also breastfeeding the baby.

Since you are giving formula, you have to give water to avoid constipation. If you were giving only breastmilk, there wouldn't be any need for water.

This is very correct. We used syringe while at the hospital or spoon. They didn't didn't allow bottle feeding at all.

If you dont want the babies why not opt for family planning or something? Why subject an innocent helpless woman to such horrible experiences. Its really painful.

I lost him same year I lost my beloved mother,and same day my eldest child added a year +. After his death,I will carry all the baby things,both the one he used and not yet used,sniff them and cry silently,when my other kids aren't around. After 4 months I took in again,and I was happy,at least it will help alot to ease my heart. But what happened? I fell sick,hubby refused me to go to hospital,he said he will call his nurse instead,he bought drugs,my sickness still persisted and he wasn't happy I was down,he came home one night with another set of drugs saying this one is strong and will make me better,my instinct was rejecting it,I told him these ones are too strong for me,I will call my doctor,this man started nagging that so I am calling him senseless and don't know what is good for his own wife? I can't go out to see a doctor,where is the money? He made me a full house wife,wetin I go carry use?

I told him what I found out,he started nagging again and forced me to take it,what Happened next? I started bleeding when he was not at home,before I knew it,the little festus there was out,it has already form sef,tiny hands,legs but no hair or sex yet. I was so traumatized,oya let me go to the hospital to do scan,he said ok. He keeps delaying till blood flow stopped.
After a week blood started flowing again,mind you I was still spitting and vomiting all this while. I started getting weak,see heavy clots of blood,my sister you go fear,I fainted more than twice, that was when I was rushed to the hospital and it was confirm there is a little product left and placenta,my dear I went through another horrible evacuation. That was how I lost my twins baby again. I shared this here, because I know other Mamas will learn one or two things.

I don't know if I should share what also lead to my one month old babys death. Hmmm.

I remember you very well. I remember the first one you lost exactly 1month after birth around November 2020 or so. I see you here and i am like this lady is really strong to be this happy and all with all she has been through. This thread is more than just a normal nairaland thread, it is like family. I'm so sorry for all you went through, i know God will definitely put a smile on your face soonest. We will keep praying for you. Please do share what happened with the first, we can learn a thing or 2 from it

Just gave birth to a bouncing baby girl via VG
EDD 21st April
DOB 18th April
My BS story is a very interesting one from beginning of conception right till Birth.
The conception came as a surprise because my last pregnancy was CS, since baby was breeched, so we wanted to wait for her to clock 3 before trying again, but God knows best. Was praying for both of them to be birthday mate because my first is April 16.
As the pregnancy progressed baby was in breeched position, but thank God she later turned head down.. Because the doctors were already giving option of CS, since I wanted to try VBAC...Went to the hospital on Sat and doctor checked and said my OS is still closed, funny enough my water broke that very night and labor started, I had already been briefed that I won't be induced because of the previous,that labor would have to be natural since I wanted to try VBAC ..Omo the pain was something else,for almost 24hours i was in labor... But thank God it finally ended in praise... Wishing rest mamas safe delivery....

Please i want to ask, whats the age difference between your two kids? The bs sounded like it was less than the 3yrs. I am thinking of vbac but fear dey catch me

Exactly,a new mum is supposed to be pampered,be on bed rest for atleast a month or more,to regain her strength etc. I do feel for you seriously, you are trying. I do fall sick latest before 2 months after childbirth Bec no time to rest like that, coupled with sleepless nights.

Some visitors add to the stress instead of easing it. If you ask me, just 1 person is enough. The rest can be coming from time to time. Not live-in biko. I no even get money to feed any extra mouth.

Yes, i did cs there in 2020. No regrets whatsoever.

I am on this boat o. My baby is 1yr and 4months. She used to like swallow, beans, rice, etc. Now, she wouldnt even taste it not to talk of eat it. Maybe those with experience can help us out

I dey follow up on my HMO and ask questions on a regular. Most hospital are guilty of extortion especially if you don't know what your HMO plan.

They recently sent us a list of all the hmo covers cause the complaints were getting too much, including the things that had limits. Most people at my workplace never knew they are entitled to private wards. They just throw you into general ward and collect money for private ward from hmo people

The hospital. The hospital is saying my HMO delivery is 40k whereas HMO is saying it's 300k for delivery exclusive of CS. That particular doctor is know for exploiting ignorant folks but not me. She refused me calling the HMO in her presence saying they will sanction them . Well! Delivery can be done anywhere

Hospitals are known for exploiting hmo patients.
Some would give an empty paper to sign without indicating the real bill so they can inflate it and extort the hmo companies

Are they not giving you pain killers? You wont be discharged till they switch from injections to oral drugs. The more you move around, the faster the pain goes away. You will be fine ma. Sorry about the pain. In less than a week you wont even notice it again. Just that the area will feel numb for a while. Ndo nwanyi oma, God is your strength

We took him to "Elewe omo" Herbal shop, we were told his head is open, I don't understand what that means?

The open head you are talking about is in every baby and will not close anytime soon. Its called fontanelle. A simple google search will explain it. Biko dont give that baby anything in the name of covering the open head before you end up harming that child.

Anybody used Solid rock hospital Ojodu for delivery? That's my HMO so I want to know if I can use them for delivery or just change to Mother and Child.

I had my baby at Mother and Child. Will still use them for the next....excellent services
