Silly people - The 'West' are installing their puppets with ease.

Anybody could have warned those fools about the 'West'.

Maybe I am being naive but I have always been told growing up here in America that I must go back and do what I can for Nigeria, even if my father cant return. I thought a successful democratic capitalist nation is characterized by a partnership between public and private sector. What if the private sector included diasporans, wouldn't that develop the nation tremendously? So do you feel like diasporans should not feel the need to go home to help develop Nigeria? Maybe I should just stay in the United States when Im done with my MD
Dont change you attitude - Nigeria needs people who think like you.

Unfortunately there are some 'pompous, arrogant sellouts' who believe Nigeria should transform itself into the 'West' before they return.

Let them live and Die in that foreign land they find themselves as mere economic migrants. Second class citizenship is what they've accepted.

Their attitudes are warped and their return to Nigeria will not benefit Nigeria in anyway.

Only people willing to make a difference should return - Not those longing for the day Nigeria introduces 'food stamps'.

Politics › Re: Ancestral DNA Results of Nigerians. by Sunofgod(m): 8:27pm On Jul 26, 2011
Light Black skin is actually a deficiency. Its due to a lack of melanin (pigmentation).

The different shades in skin colour are related to this. The lighter the skin, the lower the amount of melanin found inside that person. The extreme of this abnormality is 'white people' whose skin contain little or no pigmentation. Just like a Nigerian Albino.

Their known to be more prone to skin cancers because of this defeiciency.

Those wanting lighter skin normally are suffering from an extreme form of inferiority complex. If they were more aware they would actually see it as a curse or form of lepprosy.
I wouldnt say so because based on Afem4eva's theory, Igbos have more darkskin than light skin ppl and those dark skins are from the pleasure of Yoruba men.

EzeUche thatz always yelling about light skin Igbos is even darker than me, dark as tar. And the dude looks Yoruba. sth is going on in his genes.
Dark skin/light skin has nothing to do with genetic make up. You cant tell somebody's ancestry from their complexion.

Plus Nigeria is the number one market place in the world for skin bleaching creams so that puts a further dent in that theory.

And is this going to become a new insult on NL - That a person looks Yoruba? I think such an insult is way below the belt.

Onyeama denies internet reports on Ojukwu’s health
On July 25, 2011 · In News

BY Vincent Ujumadu
AWKA — Chief of Staff to the ailing Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Mr. Bob Onyeama, has denied reports that the health of the Ikemba Nnewi, who is on admission in a London hospital, was deteriorating.

There were reports from the internet Monday that Ojukwu may not be in any position to return to the country very soon as there has not been any significant improvement in his health since he was rushed to the United Kingdom last year.

Reacting to the report, Onyeama said: “There is no truth in the internet reports that the health of the ailing Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who is in a London hospital, has deteriorated.”

Onyeama said Ojukwu, who suffered stroke is getting better. He also said he and Ojukwu’s wife, Bianca, were with him and that nobody else had seen Ikemba to warrant any speculation about his present condition.

Also, Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Peter Obi on Media, Mr. Val Obienyem, urged people not to worry about the internet reports, adding that the state government was monitoring Ikemba’s recovery and assured that he would soon return to Nigeria fully recovered.

Nobody is disputing the fact that moslems are notorius terrorists.

The point the poster is trying to make is that when on the very rare occassion a terrorists attack is carried out by a non-moslem, should moslems still have their name dragged through the mud?

And should the non-moslem terrorist be refered to as something other than a terrorists?

Politics › Re: Drought In East Africa by Sunofgod(m): 6:39pm On Jul 24, 2011
ElRazur:
This may sound harsh but I am of the view that Nations that faces climate challenge - especially in an underdeveloped world - are at a massive disadvantage. The horn of Africa or those region has been plagued hit by inconsistent rainfall, prolonged drought and an ever encroaching desert. Yet this same nations lack anything of interest that the world may want.

If you look on the other side of coin, in the middle east, you have nations that are within or inside what is essentially a desert or an arid region, yet this nation managed to avert food crisis. In fact, most of these nations are seen as developing nations (third world). How come it is always different for Africa?

Well, these middle-eastern country are rich in oil or sit on a vast quantity of oil and as such the world interest in them are high. Let's not forget that these nations are located in places considered "strategic position" on the face of the earth and vital to world peace at least.

Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia are essentially desert but it is rare for them to have food shortages. You see, without what the world want from these African nations I am afraid that most of them will die as a result of famine.

To further illustrate my point, China and India had history of food shortages and possible famine, but they all manage to avert these looming crisis in the past simply by boosting their agricultural input amongst other things.  When you look at these nations of Africa - Somalia especially. There is very little one can do when the land is nothing but desert sand.

In the past, the whole world gave handouts and aids, but given the global recession and the fact that famine is always just on the horizon in these African nations, I really do not see any hope. Perhaps it is a case of survival of the fittest?
Most of the countries affected are not land locked. They have access to the sea and therefore have access to water.

So why do they not have irrigation systems in place?

The problem is these 'perpetual' wars they have been fighting. It leaves them with no time to plan and collectively come together to ensure there are no food shortages.

I speculate the wars are linked to the 'arab' presence in those regions.

South Sudan is in the process of escaping this trend and may in the long run become the benchmark country in that region.

Further more whenever they show those starving on TV you always see guns everywhere - they dont have food but they got plenty of AK47's.

These people need to rise up and solve their own problems. Its not beyond them.

Why is it that when a criminal who happens to be a muslim commits a crime it is associated with islam, But when another criminal who happens to be christian commits a crime its not associated with christianity. (note the suspect in the norwegian case admitted to police of being a 'christian fundementalist')

Thats the same problem we have in 9ja, a year and a half before the elections when the BH menace initially resurfaced i used to work 100km from maiduguri, then they were killing islamic scholars who preached against them and going into mosques and shooting pple. But u hardly see those grabing headlines then,

My point here is  a wrong is wrong who ever commits it. Lets stop the cheap politics going on now with our national security.

Politics › Re: US Removes Nigeria From Terror List by Sunofgod(m): 5:28pm On Jul 24, 2011
Very risky move by the US.

I think Nigeria should be removed from the list but certain states in Nigeria should be included in that list.

Whether or not you are a potential terrorist should be linked to your state of origin. (Northern vs Southern States)

At the same time 'America' need to add 'America' to that list - I heard there was another gun massacre there this weekend. But of course this wont be widely publicised.

We need to solve our own problems first.

Climate change is also affecting us and we haven't found the answer.

East African coutries need to come together to solve their problems. If not, they all die!!
