The Egyptian army has overthrown President Mohamed Morsi, announcing a roadmap for the country’s political future that will be implemented by a national reconciliation committee.

The head of Egypt's armed forces issued a declaration on Wednesday evening suspending the constitution and appointing the head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Adli al-Mansour, as interim head of state.

Mansour will be sworn in on Thursday.

Morsi's presidential Facebook page quoted the deposed president as saying he rejected the army statement as a military coup.

In a televised broadcast, flanked by military leaders, religious authorities and political figures, General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi effectively declared the removal of Morsi.

Donmams: First Lady Patience Jonathan has slammed those describing her office as unconstitutionally, saying it cannot be separated from the Presidency.

The first lady, through her media aide, Ayo Oshinlu, was yesterday reacting to a newspaper editorial that criticised her for speaking from a podium with the nation’s official seal two years ago.

According to Mrs Jonathan, her office, just like American First Lady Michelle Obama’s, derives from the Presidency and has responsibilities to discharge, whether ceremonial or official, in order to “smoothen the operations of the president and the Presidency”.

I wish Jesus or the Bible said something this wonderful....Or the Moslems themselves follow these words. It is indeed sad that the so-called religious people (Africans, Asians and Arabs) are the world greatest racists; and the world most nonreligious nations (US, UK, Europe, etc) have long seem the pains and ruins of racism and tribalism and kicked against it. I will live by these message despite been a core-Day-Star member...I wish others could as well.
