I can confidently tell you that if it happens again, that will be their end. @OP, you have Genocidal tendencies. God will always deliver the Biafrans. Bleep Nigeria |

Jashub: Who is telling you that? Who is feeding you that lie? Look if not for corruption, Lagos will have nothing. You keep forgetting that Lagos was once capital of Nigeria, and that the seaport there influence so many things. Let another major seaport be created in the south-south(like Portharcourt for instance) and see if Lagos popularity will not crumble like a house of cards! This is the reason for Lagos massive commercial vibes. Get another seaport in the rivers, akwaibom and watch Lagos become a regular state in Nigeria |

Chii59: Babe. Let him make the first trip. It may look like "what's the difference?" Men commit to what they find important to them. It's not just about money. I fell in love with a nairaland guy and travelled almost the whole day by road to see him. Guess what, while I was still in his town, he told me he wanted a break. I know people are different. But if he loves you, let him come over. Not you. "he told me he wanted a break ", as you are still on the road. Opeeeeoooooo |

Education › Re: No Resumption Until FG Pays Withheld Salaries – ASUU by survivor10(m): 11:35am On Dec 07, 2020 |
DTaj: You are obviously a young man/woman...
During the military era (especially during Babangida and Abacha regimes, starting with Babangida) ASUU strike, when Dr. Attahiru Jega was ASUU National President, lasted over 11 months! In fact, under Abacha, ABU Zaria was shut for 14 months (ONE YEAR & TWO MONTHS!!!) and students in that era lost 2 academic sessions- 1994/1995 and 1995/1996 (the two sessions were cancelled!).
The truth is, anyone who went to school during the military went through hell.
There was no National Assembly to apply pressure on the Government, human rights activists were hounded, jailed, and killed (some bombed out of existence during Abacha's regime!), newspapers were shut and proscribed regularly (Punch, Guardian, defunct Sketch, etc suffered this fate and huge losses), there was no social media (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc, etc); there were no smart phones (in fact there were NO PHONES AT ALL, we all used to queue at NITEL's public offices to make calls and everyone heard your conversation- a very harrowing experience it was!) to record anything; there was HUGE FEAR in Nigeria...
Democracy, with its faults, is FAR BETTER! Very soon, this particular strike will hit a year and might surpass ABU record of 14 months. Your generation didn't get it bad as ours. |
