Christianity EtcDavid Did Not Kill Goliath, the Bible Is Not Infallible by Swaginton(op): 4:45pm On Nov 10, 2013
Written by Femi Aribisala
One of the myths of Christianity is the infallibility
of the bible.
Quoting Paul, some Christians insist every word
in the bible is “God-breathed.” (2 Timothy 3:16).
When you identify contradictions in the bible,
they either refuse to acknowledge them or try to
rationalise them away with highfalutin
apologetics.
However, these apologetics have not made the
contradictions disappear. All they do is establish
that these bible-fanatics are not committed to
the truth.
Christians generally believe little David killed
mighty Goliath, according to the “infallible”
account of 1 Samuel 17:50-51. This feat is
drummed into us from childhood.
However, the same “infallible” bible also credits
the killing of Goliath to Elhanan, one of David’s
mighty men.
2 Samuel says:
There was another battle with the Philistines
at Gob, and Elhanan son of Jair from
Bethlehem killed Goliath from Gath.” (2
Samuel 21:19
This record of Elhanan (as opposed to David)
killing Goliath can be found in many bible
translations but other bible translations of the
same 2 Samuel 21:19 say Elhanan killed “the
brother of Goliath.” These translations include
the King James Version (KJV); New King James
Version (NKJV); The Living Bible (TLB); and New
Living Translation (NLT).
Of the latter, the New King James Version is
remarkably unreliable.
As a matter of policy, King James sometimes
adds its own words to bible verses, effectively
doctoring their meaning.
Although the translation says Elhanan slew “the
brother of Goliath;” the words “the brother of”
are written in italics, indicating that they do not
appear in the original Hebrew text but were
added at the discretion of NKJV translators.
However, my purpose here is not just to
demonstrate the fallibility of the bible. Bible-
worshipping Christians will always reject that fact
no matter what.
My purpose is to determine if David killed
Goliath.
The question then arises as to which version are
we going to believe? Should we believe the
classical position that David killed Goliath, or
should we believe the equally biblical position
that Elhanan killed Goliath?
For a number of reasons, the account stating
that David killed Goliath is the less believable.
It is in the tradition of kings and rulers to take
credit for other people’s achievements under
their kingdom. David was no exception to this.
Saul and David
The account of David killing Goliath is so full of
contradictions that it is clear it is the fabricated
version.
One of the problems with the account has to do
with the inability of bible-writers to determine
precisely when David first met Saul.
We are told that when Saul transgressed against
the Lord, God sent an evil spirit to trouble him.
(1 Samuel 16:14). Someone then recommended
to Saul that he should hire David to play the
harp, offering the dubious thesis that soothing
music is a demon-repellent.
But then the man recommending David said
something strange: he extolled David, a young
teenager who was not even old enough to be in
the army, as a man of war:
I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite,
who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of
valor, a man of war.” (1 Samuel 16:18
This description is a giveaway. It is obviously
written after the fact. There is no basis for
describing David, a youth keeping sheep, as “a
mighty man of valour” and “a man of war.”
By all accounts, David was not even a man yet.
On this recommendation, Saul sent word to
Jesse, David’s father, that his son should be
seconded to him.
However, David entered Saul’s service not as a
harp-playing musician, but as his armour-bearer,
even though we are told later that Saul’s armour
was too heavy for David. (1 Samuel 17:38-39).
Nevertheless, whenever Saul came under attack
by the evil spirit, David would play a harp and
the evil spirit would depart. Saul quickly took a
liking to David, and he sent to his father a
second time that David’s secondment to him
should become permanent. (1 Samuel 16:22).
However, when we get to the incident where
David is alleged to have killed Goliath, we
discover to our surprise that this same David,
who was supposed to be Saul’s armour-bearer/
musician, had never met Saul before.
In that contradictory account, David was just a
young boy tending sheep. His father sent him to
deliver lunch to his two brothers at the war-
front.
On arriving there, he found Goliath terrorizing
everybody and offered to fight against him.
He was then brought to Saul who, on meeting
him for the very first time, said to him:
“You are not able to go against this
Philistine to fight with him; for you are a
youth, and he a man of war from his
youth.” (1 Samuel 17:33).
However, in the earlier version, David was
specifically introduced to Saul as “a man of war.”
Contrary to the earlier account where Saul sent
emissaries to David’s father twice, he now did
not know who David’s father was.
Conclusion - The bible is a book written and
compiled by men; and men are not infallible.

CelebritiesVideo Director Sesan Releases Press Statement Regarding Skelewu Video by Swaginton(op): 10:41pm On Oct 16, 2013
Here’s a public statement by Sesan concerning the skelewu video which leaked yesterday.

My attention is drawn toward  the chaos surrounding the release of the Skelewu video .

Myself and my team shot the video for Davido in Nigeria and to the best of my knowledge my client and his team were very happy with the result, when they watched/ and approved the video. If he has since had a change of heart, that is ok. I am not in any way responsible for the release of the video. I believe Davido and myself did a very good job regarding the video production and as a professional of over 10 years. I find it very irresponsible and immature if my client and his management publicly put out false statements/comments, in an attempt to tarnish my name, credibility and reputation.
I remain dedicated, humble, focused and as hard working as ever. Thank you to all my fans and industry professionals – Stay blessed.

RomanceGuys!things You Should And Shoudnt Do If You Want That Girl by Swaginton(op): 12:51pm On Oct 10, 2013
Being a gentleman never goes out of style, in fact
its the best thing that could happen to a guy after FIFA
14, that is. But what is a gentleman without a femme
fatale? Sadly many guys of all brain sizes make some
really bad decisions when it comes to talking to girls,
especially the ones they really like. So I have a come
up with this little piece to give you one less thing to
worry about in life. You can thank me later
.
(1) Don't stare or ogle at a girl uncontrollably.sure this
girl is 'the most beautiful goddess I've ever seen', yes,
she is more beautiful that the evening sunset, yet that
does not give you the license to fix your retinas at
her.she will not only find that creepy and uncomfortable
but it gives off the impression that you are a desperado.
Subtle glances are a lot more appealing.
(2) Dont be double sided like a casette. In other words,
don't lie to impress a girl. Sure we see movies where a
girl gets impressed with all the trouble the guy had to
go through for her but then again that's why its a
movie.Be real to yourself and eveyone around you.If
you lie that you have a Bugatti, trust me she might
definitely want a cruise in that buggati soon.
(3) Keep ur language simple and PG-13.So I have this
friend who thinks he could impress girls with a wide
vocabulary of swear words and guess what, suprisingly
girls run away from him. Using swear words is never
cool especially when you are with a girl. It tends to give
them this feeling that you are aggressive and that's a
step backward. A solution to this could be expanding
your vocabulary.
(4) Hygiene: *sighs*... O my, a lot of guys are culprits on
this one. There is nothing more repulsive to a girl than
a guy with body or mouth odour. Infact this single flaw
could liquidate all ur efforts and strain ur relationship
wit the opposite sex. Do whatever you have to do to
stay clean. I think this is pretty clear enough
(5) Your style of dressin matters a lot... Being a
gentleman doesn't actually equate dressing in a suit or
tie but it is very neccesary not to dress out of line... I
know many guys have their unique sense of style but
sagging is NEVER cool... It is actually repulsive to most
girls. Sadly, most guys ignore this and they end up
pulling a 'Lil wayne' in d worst place possible: a class of
Law students
(6) Gurls love scholars-smart, intelligent people with a
purpose in life. However, if you want to impress a girl
NEVER try to act smarter than you actually are. You
might (most definitely will) end up making a fool out of
yourself. For example, stop asking all too obvious
questions in class, there better and more effective ways
to do dat. Try gettin straight A's in your next exam
instead. This 'I-too-Know' syndrome will only put you in
the lecturer's bad books, and will probably portray you
as someone who cannot reason out things with his
brain.
(7) Exercise patience: I might sound like a Pastor here,
but patience is really neccesary. You meet this girl on
Facebook, and you've had sleepless nights because of
her. Big deal.Do not rush things when dealing with her.
Patience is a virtue here. Keep the conversation simple
and things will fall naturally into place. NEVER, I repeat
NEVER send amorous messages to a girl you just met
on Facebook or Twitter, not only will she ignore you,
she'ld tell her friends and probably everyone else too.
So don't be too surprised to see a picture of your
message trending as a big joke on Twitter.
(cool Say the right thing at the right time: You finally got a
girl to go to dinner with you on a first date. You are so
excited and you don't wanna mess things up by saying
the wrong things. Lemme give you a hint. You could
talk about everything in the world but don't talk about
her body. Leave her big tummy alone, ignore her giant
mole (or beauty mark as she might want to call it), and
keep things simple.Girls love flattery but even that has
a limit.Don't ask too many questions at a time,its a first
date not an interview session.
(9) Bbm-blackberry messenger..in this side of the
world, bbm is more used than dictionaries (I stand to be
corrected). Socially,it is a very useful gadget in meeting
up. If you re chatting with a girl and eventually u ask for
her contact, she would probably decline the first time (if
she has worth). As a guy don't panic. Infact the little trick
here is to quickly act like nothing ever happened.here's
a quick re-enactment:
Boy:can u give me your numba so I could give you a
call sometime.
Girl: I am sorry, but I don't give my number to
strangers.
STOP!!! Don't do this:
Boy: I am not a stranger,I could be the number one
guy in your life if you jst give me the chance. (OR) Do I
wanna eat ur number. Why can't you just trust me.
Rather just act in line:
Boy: ok dats true though, anyway what have u been
up to lately.
Don't ask her for number again and I bet you she would
bring back the topic herself
(10) This next one is a bit raunchy but trusts me it
happens to a lot of guys. You see this hot girl and you
just can't resist approaching her, but alas there's a
problem. You have a boner!. Keep your dirty mind in
check. A responsible girl who notices that will be
automatically turned off and your chances blown away.
(11) Every girl loves a funny guy; "that guy that makes
me smile", "that boy who makes my day" etc.
However, you should always know the limit as a guy. if
a girl tells you are funny, enjoy that feeling. If she tells
you are a clown, that's badnews. You might just end up
in the friendzone as her personal jester.Don't try forcing
your jokes on her if she doesn't understand, just let it
go. And also important, don't tell dirty jokes, sure it
worked for the family guy, but this is reality. It could
easily sell you off as a pervert and am sure you dont
wanna give off that kind of impression.
I could go on and on about what you should and
should not do but I think this would suffice. If a girl
rejects you it doesn't neccesarily mean you did
something wrong though you just have to examine
yourself. Ultimately being male is a matter of birth.
Being a man is a matter of age. But being a Gentleman
is a matter of choice.

In addition to the above, there are little things that EVERY girl expects from ANY guy who approaches or 'blocks' her. Read:

The Things Guys Should NEVER do When Relating with Girls

LiteratureWhen The War Comes by Swaginton(op): 7:35pm On Sep 29, 2013
We have pleaded, and we have wept.
We have threatened, and we have cowered.
But when the war comes none of this will matter
anymore. In the streets and in the bars and in the schools, all patriots in the west and south and east will scream "BLOOD!", and we shall get it from the arms and necks and legs of these northerners who spite Nigeria.
When the war comes, friendships will be renounced. The hausa man who sells groundnut in front of his southern neighbor's house(and they've cracked jokes for 15 years together), will find himself alone and despised. He will be dragged through the streets by boys whose
parents his people murdered in cold blood.
He will be whipped by the blood-lusty girl who lost her
fiance.
He will be tied to the stake by a man whose wife was butchered by the bokos.
He will be prodded with hot metal by the widow whose husband's mangled body was recovered from a bomb site on christmas day.
He will be, slowly and methodically, cut open by the parents who lost their only son, a graduate, after years of school toil.
He will be bathed in oil by boys who lost their favorite girls to an explosion;
And then someone will toss a matchstick to the pile, and he will scream his way to the other world.
And he sold groundnuts to these people for 15 years...and yam sef!
No one wants this...but we're on the fast track to a brutal ethnic cleansing. very brutal. And make no mistake, despite my convictions of non-violence and desire for a united country and peaceful Nigeria, I'll be there. Zeus, I might even be the one to toss the matchstick. Sometimes,
violence is necessary that peace might reign.
And a word to the "I am ontop of the situation" president.
Dear Johnny, the SSS and NSA and Police wont save your ineffective, effeminate and push-over arse. When the war comes, all that would matter is "are you one of us or not?", and one side will kill you.
  God bless Nigeria...MUST!

This is hilarious!!! Genevieve Nnaji has threatened to
slap EME singer, Skales If he mentions her name in his
lyrics again.
EME rapper, Skales probably never saw this coming.
Well incase you didn't know Skales in a
song titled "no time" said that genevieve was top on his
list and he wants to give her the D, but now Skales
might get the 'S' Lmaoo.
The far from happy star actress issued a
statement this morning and I quote:
"Can you imagine that boy telling me he wants to give
me the D ..what does he know, is the D sef? ..that is by
the way..the next time i hear him mention my name in
his lyrics again, I'm gonna give him a dirty slap, he'll
never forget..what sort of nonsense, am I his mate? how
much does he have?"
Banky W was contacted but all he could say was "I told
Skales..upcoming artist don't mention her name in
songs…now we have to go and beg all
together….Wizkid is already buying her gifts..we can't
spoil EME's name, A slap on Skales is a slap on the
whole family"

SportsWhy Is The Coach Always Blamed For The Incompetence Of The Players by Swaginton(op):
Yesterday was perhaps a historic day in the world of English football.am not just talking about the mauling of manchester united by their rivals, manchester city.

It was also the last day paulo di canio presided as sunderland's manager.poor canio*sighs.

Anyways,as I woke up to be greeted by the shocking yet expectant news of his sack while I was still recovering from d harsh reality of man u's game yesterday.

I began to wonder;why is the coach always the first to be blamed?.moyes himself is already under immense pressure.don't the players themselves have any sense of responsibility?.sometimes the manager isn't given as much financial backing as he wants cause the board is more concerned with profits yet they want instantenous success..I personally believe(I stand to be corrected though) that sometimes players put up underwhelming performances either to get their coaches sacked or to force their out of their clubs so why are the coaches always at the receiving end?

FoodPatronage On The Newly Opened Shoprite In Ibadan Hits A New Low by Swaginton(op): 10:16pm On Jul 31, 2013
The first day it opened it was like a tourist site, but the
Ibadan people have since found their way back to their
local markets...lol. Barely a month after the grand
opening of Shoprite at Heritage Cocoa Mall, on Oba
Adebimpe Road, Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State, the retail
store has been hit with low patronage. The number of
Ibadan people who go there to buy things have
reduced drastically. Some residents blame it on the
prices of goods at shoprite. While some say it's
cheaper to buy some goods from their local markets
than from shoprite, others say though it's cheaper to
buy from shoprite than the stores in their
neighborhood, the difference isn't much and the
transport fare to go to shoprite and back isn't worth it,
so they stick to shops in their area.
The most patronized commodity at shoprite Ibadan is
the freshly baked bread, everything else na
manage...:-) Though people go there a lot on the
weekends...just to look around. Hehe
