Ameachi is NO orator of course. Not all brilliant people are good orators. But he's tough and rugged and APC needs his daring, never say attitude when it comes to dealing with life threatening situations. That man risk took a VERY big dangerous risk supporting Buhari/APC. If Jonathan had won the elections what would have become of him can not even be imagined......... APC realizes that and have no other option than to be eternally grateful of admiring of him.
In fact, Ameachi's inclusion in that list is more political than any other thing. Buhari/APC needs his kind of person badly. He's a fighter for what he wholeheartedly believes in.

Amaechi was Director General of the Buhari Presidential campaign. The 1st opposition campaign to unseat a sitting president in the history of the country. That is no mean feat, it shows acumen and organization abilities and on that basis alone, he has demonstrated he clearly has what it takes to manage a ministerial portfolio. In politics when someone contributes significantly to your victory, he deserves to be rewarded, that's how politics works for good or for bad.


Like them or not there are 2 major personalities in Buhari's victory, Tinubu and Ameachi. Without them Buhari would be making attempt no 5 in 2019!

Firstly, the presidency should attach portfolios to the nominees in order for Senators to ask much more relevant questions with regards to the expertise of the nominee in that area.

Secondly, the screening should be done by relevant Senate committees, with the committees having the power to recommend a general Senate vote on the nominee; or to reject the nominee.
