PoliticsRe: Does Sanusi Have A Hidden Agenda?unanswered Questions About Bank Mds’ Removal by sweetpain: 12:44pm On Aug 15, 2009
The fact remains that Sanusi had executed a bad corporate coup d'etat which is a bad omen for the Nigerian economy, especially in this period
  of global economic recession.

Even at the early stage of the recession when Fredie mac, fannie mae, JP morgan and AIG were in financial kaput, Ben Bernanke and Henry
Paulson quietly injected billions of dollars into these banks so as to prevent a total collapse of the American economy.Despite all the bail outs,
how many of the Amercan bank and automobile CEOs were SACKED? To the best of my knowledge, Jim Wagner of general motors honourably
resigned so as to pave a way for his company to recieve the bail out money, he wasn't SACKED!!

But on a second thought, it's only in Nigeria where this kamikaze attitude towards sensitive national issues exist.
Nigeria is not USA and USA cannot be Nigeria. We can use whatever lesson there is to learn from this brave move by a CBN gov. Most of these loans were non collateralized and the desperate argument by Akingbola that the sums involved being too vast (esp with respect to petroleum product importation), does not wash.

It is hoped that bank CEOs will behave more responsibly in a country noted for official impunity. Nigerians will be dumbfounded when the true revelation comes to light on what parcentage of these bad debts is directly traceable to these directors.
PoliticsRe: Bank Teller Loses His Job For Trying To Stop A Robber: by sweetpain: 12:27pm On Aug 06, 2009
If this had happened in Ngr, to start with the boss who fired him would have been taken to the cleaners because it would have been alleged that the robber was in league with him. But chances are that it is true.
EducationRe: How Would You Feel, If You Are An Illiterate? by sweetpain: 6:16pm On Aug 05, 2009
If I was illiterate I will be free of certain burden and restrictions that literacy brings like wearing condoms. A fool's paradise is paradise nontheless.

If the sex is right, why not. Inevitably you get to accommodate or even begin to like your dislikes.

you can have best of both worlds,

A functional wife and an attractive chick on the side.lol
Yeah. Couldnt agree with you more. That way you get to eat your cake and have it.

But come to think of it, an attractive wife is already functional by being attractive.
RomanceRe: Teen Pregnant After ‘swimming In Pool’ by sweetpain: 12:01pm On Aug 03, 2009
What minimum concentration of sperm is required to achieve conception in an intercourse? I am told something in the order of 10mil/ml. Now if a bloke ejaculates 5ml of sperm into a swimming pool, what concentration will you get?

For this woman to have a case, the bloke has to be in that pool ejaculating into the same water every 5secs continually for 100yrs
PoliticsRe: Govs, Top Govt Officials, Religious Leaders Behind Bokon Haram Sect? by sweetpain: 3:33pm On Aug 02, 2009
There is no doubt he was getting some kind of patronage or sponsorship from politicians.

My thinkin is that If the boko haram boy was not utterly stupid, with that kind of followership, he should have taken things slowly and at some point become a major kingmaker in Ngr politics. He would have made money of a kind he never would have got from saudi or iran. Did I hear someone say it wasnt about the money?I say bulls.hit. Its always about the money. I read the guy lived lavishly. I mean cars and women. Its a pity he has had to give them up in a most embarrassing manner.
PoliticsRe: Senate Orders Yaradua To Sack Lukman by sweetpain: 11:49am On Aug 02, 2009
Lukman- that dinosaur from the military era is used to churning out policies for his masters to shove down the throat of southerners. He still lives in the past. In the military era, non of these scandalous malfeasance in the news (PIB,Petroleum uni in Kaduna, delisting of cross river as an OMPS) would have raised any eyebrow.

The northern establishment has hijacked this govt from an ineffective and ineffectual leadership. It is up to southern senators to stand up, speak and hold their ground or continue to enjoy oil money in Abuja while the rape of their land continues.

As far as I am concerned, Lukman is Petroleum minister for North Nigeria.

Tsiya:
Just cuddle in ur safety zone and think the govt will build roads for and then you drive ur jeep for safari down the North.

The government would have gotten much vital information from him  about his activities and his organisation and potential organisations. Mohammed Yusuf is just 39, he can not command such organisation without funding and moral backing from some people who make profit or benefit anytime their is crisis in Nigeria. This guy is not a business man. His members are not business men. They must have a source of funding. That is what the government should have focus.

Summarily executing had denied us to know the truth, like many other religious and ethnic crisis in Nigeria.
There is hardly anything you can get from an idiat (advanced idiot) like yusuff you cnt get from his follwoers.

Safety zone is what we are all looking for. I hope you found yours.
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Yusuff Muhammed Bullet Riddled Body by sweetpain: 5:20pm On Jul 31, 2009
I always believed that everyone should be realistic in their expectation for justice in developing countries with limited means and mass illiteracy especially in cases of clear guilt like this.

What would you have the govt do? Put him in jail and make a hero out of him? That is preparing the ground for an even bigger conflagration and loss of innocent lives.

Money that can be spent on his trial could be use in building good roads for our jeeps.
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Yusuff Muhammed Bullet Riddled Body by sweetpain: 5:06pm On Jul 31, 2009
Education (book) would have done Mohammed Yusuff a lot of good especially in understanding the threat and what he was up against. But now its too late for the low-life, conceited, worthless idiot. Similar fate await the likes of this in future-one way or another. Boko haram.Boko hoax.

MrCrackles:
What obvious?
The poster has generalized and forgot the fact that, the idiots perpetrating the act are just a bunch of deranged and jobless poofs
People should use thier bloody common sense and choose words carefully to stop fanning unecessary religious hatred and bigotry
Fair enough, the bastards at the centre of the callous crimes are muslims who are fanatical but then it doesnt mean Islam kills. . .
Islam kills when murders are committed by a people who see islam as justification. Why is that difficult to understand?
FamilyRe: Find Condom In Your Husband’s Pocket: What Will You Do? by sweetpain: 12:37pm On Jul 14, 2009

I am not a woman so I wont know what to do.

Seriously, I think this is a very awkward (and potentially explosive) situation for which our men need to have a ready answer. The wise ones can prepare ground by saying sth like "oh baby, I couldnt help myself, I had to get condom just incase that menses thing fail to go away" (even though she knows condom or not you aint doin shi t when 'uncle Jack' is there).

This will usually serve as a useful alibi for months if not years.
BusinessEver Been A Victim Of 419? Lets Share. by sweetpain(op): 1:26pm On Jul 10, 2009
Since there is no section on crime, I figure I should bring this under business because a lot of 419 acts will usually present as one business proposal or the other.

I got a call on my cell phone yesterday from a certain engr whose voice or name did not ring a bell from anywhere. He felt offended that I had forgotten about him so soon. Anyhow he thought I should know he has a job for me and I should call him back. Since I am not looking for a job and I am not a contractor it was clear this idiot wanted to con me using my airtime. How audacious.

I have had calls like this before (like I am sure a lot of peeps on NL) sometimes telling me about packages from the UK or US to pick up etc etc. I will usually play along and waste their credit but these people will never give up. With the kind of awareness Nigerians have about the activities of these conmen, it makes me wonder how they still manage to eke a living plying their trade. Hence I have to ask, have you ever been staged in a 419 scenario and conned? What was the story? Did they get away?

But now with this I don't believe continue to run from this, it might just work out.
The question is what 'might just work out' (in your statement)? If the objective is to have a discreet affair with passionate daytime trysts, I see no obstacle. Go for it.

But if on the other hand you are looking at marriage, sorry I have to say you are so lost. The relationship will buckle at the first sign of social pressure. Keep it low, keep it quiet and have fun. This kind of relationship can last a long time if properly managed. That is all the prospect it has.
CultureRe: Did You Hawk Anything On The Streets As A Child ? by sweetpain: 2:34pm On Jul 03, 2009
At age 8-9yrs, I hawked cold water in maltex bottles with plastic corks. However mum had to stop sending me out cos she was spending more treating me for toe injuries (usually complete nail avulsions) which was invariable when this particular child would go out to hawk.

I also made and hawked paper bags for self. All neighborhood kids were doin it, why not me. Of course that was when we were not busy lookin for roosting places of those mean hens for their free eggs.
Foreign AffairsRe: Nigaz! Someone Has To Sack Their Marketing Team by sweetpain: 1:03pm On Jul 03, 2009
I think all the excitement and outburst of emotion is either unnecessary or misplaced.

The word nigaz or even nigger historically has no place either in Nigerian or russian contemporary/ancient history or culture. Agreed it may have touched on a sore point in certain aspects of American subculture or history it is not a reason to disregard an acronym that so succinctly captures this merger.

What Nigerians want is gas they can use to power their automobiles and generate electricity that will get their economy going and certainly not irrelevant and unnecessary sensibility to words that no longer have real value/meaning even where they originated.

And it is certainly undeserving an issue to be in the front page of a serious networking website. It should be removed.

And too_soon might be a whinning younger brother. What does it really matter who mum likes more. You've been given life, go live it to the fullest.

Well may be for those who have loads of cash and property to harvest when the inevitable happens it might be an issue who parents like more. But a wicked son can always use a court order to prove that mum liked him more grin
