flokii: It's 100% Yorubaland and Yorubas have control over the land. Nigeria has taken more money out of South West than what was used to build in the Island part of Lagos. Everything Yorubas pioneered in this country, Nigeria took for herself e.g. First University in Nigeria, First TV Station in Nigeria and many First(s).
Think home, go home.. go and develop your home region. How and what has Nigeria taken from the south west? What does Lagos produce? |

Beautifulday: You asked a question
How did we get here?
You didn't give any answer. You just asumed having more money brings inflation. That is elementary economics. But it does not work that way in the real sense. You made a statement without buttressing it. In the real sense, people earning more money will simply mean the price of everything will increase. The artisans, market men and women… will increase the price of their service and commodities. So, the government workers will not enjoy the increase in their salaries. It will be a vicious circle. Check history, this has happened in Nigeria before and in other countries. Again, we do not all work for the government and so will not all get our salaries increased. But, to afford anything from the market, we will need our own salary increase or poverty will definitely increase. |

rexbuton: Please this topic wants to tear the family apart.
We are doing well, each of us earns almost 85k per year, I'm in IT, she's in healthcare, and we both work full-time. I am a Christian, I have never defaulted in tithing in the last 5 years. Not once. She says tithing is my personal 'problem'. She uses the word problem specifically. She doesn't pay tithe.
This is the present sharing agreement, I bring 70%, she brings 30%. This 70-30 covers the cost of living, groceries, nursery fees for our baby, and other bills. before this sharing, we both bring equal amounts for the house mortgage and the car. When her family needs money, she insists that we share it 50-50 based on her culture.
For my cybersecurity certifications, I pay from my less than 20%, but I have never complained. God has been faithful. My belief is that my tithe covers for the family. The good news is that I won a large sum of money from my savings, tens of thousands of dollars. I intend to pay tithe, and channel most of the money to my professional development so I can earn more. I don't think I deserve that money I won, that money was from God. She thinks otherwise.
What's your opinion? Please be wise and stop bringing your personal issues to Nairaland. If you are a Christian, you have the Holy Spirit and the Bible to guide you. If you are looking for wisdom, then go to the source. Plus, you’re exposing yourself to nameless and faceless thieves on this forum. |

immortalcrown: Nothing is added to the Garri. But Pasta is a mixture of many things. The flour alone is a mixture of many things. You can imagine adding more things to the flour to make the pasta. Noooo! Wheat like cassava is sold in the market. You can buy it and grind it yourself or take it to people who will. This will ensure that nothing has been added to your flour. You can make fresh pasta yourself. You’ll need the wheat flour, water and a little olive oil or any kind of oil. I’m also careful about what I eat. I avoid preservatives when I can. Just like eating garri depends on the soup you eat it with, pasta can be healthy depending on the sauce. Just use a lot of vegetables like carrots, avocados… |

As for me, I chose my meals based on their nutritional values, not based on their tastes or their appearances. So, I so much like Editan and Periwinkles.
Noodles tastes great but I avoid it because it is not just starch but artificial starch. The same applies to Macaroni and Spaghetti. I rather soak Garri that is natural. Garri is made from cassava, just like spaghetti, noodles and macaroni are made from flour. The flour is ground wheat. |

The current adminstration has been completing roads and railway projects from the previous administration while also making provision for new roads. There's no standard policy that stops building new roads while fixing old ones. Peter Obi has always protrayed himself as a clown notorious for substandard projects. Atleast, get your facts right before coming out to make a fool of yourself. Have you seen the road the accident occurred on? Have you been to Kogi state? Have you seen the state of the roads? Bad roads and Dangote’s driver acting like they own the roads cause accidents in this country. You’re on Nairaland defending what is not defendable. |

safariman: The Regulatory body should be working with DSTV on how and when to adjust their fees. Should they be operating at a loss? No , but they should not be gouging their subscribers either. The regulatory agency should know their cost of doing business and work the company to allow the company raise rates by applying for a justifiable rate increase request. In Nigeria, we operate a quasi democratic and socialist country. We still want everything free (free education, healthcare, housing, subsidized pms,) but Nigeria's government is never good at these things because of the Nigerian factor. Everybody only looking out for their own pocket and not for the greater good. Once DSTV gives these guys bribe, the issue will go away How can they be operating at a loss? They, like all the multinationals increasing prices of their products are making huge profits. Let them disclose their end of year accounts! They have been in Nigeria for lots of years making so much money. If Nigeria is going through a hard time, DSTV should be able to conduct their business at a lower profit margin. They can never make a loss. |

Yahaya Bello is being disgraced for daring Lagos Landlord during APC Presidential Primaries in 2022 by refusing to step down for the oracle of Yoruba land. His harassment by the EFCC has nothing to do with whatever money they said he stole.
Tell me Dollar Man Ganduje didn't steal more than 100billion naira as Kano Governor yet same EFCC is shielding him because he is a close friend and political ally of Lagos landlord.
Make una try de get sense for Nigeria, those corrupt politicians and their stooges at EFCC, DSS, etc are only doing you Nigerians abracadabra Are you defending Yahaya Bello? A man who employed a petrol station attendant to be a local government chairman simply because Bello knew the N100,000 he offered the attendant seemed so huge. Poor attendant did not know what was up. When Bello became the governor initially, he was serious about doing a great job. But after about two months, he realised no one would do anything to him if he stole anything and refused to do his job. The horrible politicians he met taught him how to impoverish the state even more. Then Bello the student became the head of the school and stole more than any mind can begin to imagine. Please don’t defend Bello. The EFCC is not doing abracadabra, when it comes to Bello. |

DeLaRue: People don't understand that because of its nature, suede shoes looks older than their true age.
If you buy suede today, by the 3rd or 4th time you wear it, it will already look older than a leather shoe you have worn for several years. That's partly because, unlike leather, you can't polish it. Nor can you just grab a piece of cloth and water to wipe it.
Those who understand classical men's fashion know this. It is perfectly acceptable for a suede shoe to look a bit tatty.
If you see Prince Charles suede shoes, they look even worse than this man's own.
It's not about money.
Depending on the make, a suede shoe in the UK will cost upwards of £100. Up to £250 in some stores.
I can bet you, Mr Omokri's shoes will have cost him a lot of money, and I wont be surprised if it is only a few weeks old. You can polish suede shoes. Simply use suede polish. |

A woman will always stick with a man that is never broke. A woman can stay with a rich man for over 50 years.
No Nigerian girl can stay with a broke man for 4 months. Awele marrying Tony Elumelu had nothing to do with his money. dominique: I've watched a series on discovery ID called when children kill, I'm sure the authorities are very well aware of what some children are capable of and would have taken their time to erase all doubts. A seasoned crime scene investigator would have have assessed the scene and come up with a possible scenario at first glance. Do you think they randomly picked the father as the perpetrator based on hunches or what the child said? Since you’ve watched some of these documentaries, then you’d know that they rarely suspect a child of mass murder. They end up staring the horror in the face when the proof they have can’t be denied. Finally the child confesses and they send said child to a mental home. |

You think the police won't have investigated the gunshot wounds to know who actually pulled the trigger? Even if a shooter takes a bath and change clothes, he would still have some gunshot residue left one his body. There’s a station on tv that shows real crimes. You will be shocked at what the mind can conceive. He could have killed them while they were sleeping. Then tell a story of how he was sleeping. |
