About 25 youth groups have asked five of the G-9 members and founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by a former vice president, Alex Ekwueme, to take over the affairs of the party to avert its imminent collapse.

The groups also called on a former minister of agriculture, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma, a former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, a former minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana and a former Senate president, Iyorchia Ayu, to team up with Ekwueme and salvage the party.

The main opposition party is currently embroiled in leadership tussle which has seen the chairman of the national working committee been inaugurated at the PDP National Convention in Port Harcourt. Ahmed Makarfi and the party’s embattled national chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff are now laying claim to the party’s leadership.

But some of the groups, who yesterday called on the founding fathers to take over the party’s affairs include: Siyasa Akida Network, SAN; PDP National Volunteers; PDP Youth Mobilisation; Arewa Social Media Forum, ARMEFOR; PDP Youth Vanguard; PDP Youth Volunteers and PDP Youth Frontiers.

After a meeting of the groups in Abuja, the coordinating chairman, Aliyu Tukur Gantsa said that the crisis between Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Senator Ahmed Makarfi factions was grounding the party.

He stated that though many of the founding fathers of the PDP have died, those still alive should not allow the party to disintegrate.

As reactions from well meaning Nigerians still trail the recent blocking of the personal account of Ekiti State governor, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) , a renowned human rights activist and Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sualiman has warned the President and Commander-In-Chief, General Muhammadu Buhari,rtd against returning the country back to the era of his despotic Military rule of 1984 to 1985 where the government was almighty.

Comrade Sulaiman who doubles as Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) also declared that the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes C omission(EFCC) lacked power and right to freeze any sitting Governor’s Bank Account, saying that Section 308 of the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has covered the sitting President/Vice-President and Governor/ Deputy- Governor from criminal offences, saying that the action of the anti-graft agency was political witch-hunt of opponent of President Buhari.

Reacting to the development in a statement issued by the CHRSJ’s Directorate of Media and Research, which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday, maintained that the Supreme Court of Nigeria has cleared air on the section 308 in the case of Gani Fawehinmi vs. IGP&Ors over Bola Ahmed Tinubu Chicagogate forgery saga in (2002) 7 NWLR (pt 767) pg 606 where it contended that the immunity did not cover any Executive President/ Vice-President and Executive Governor / Deputy-Governor from investigation but covering them from any prosecution, stressing that EFCC has gone beyond their boundary on this matter.

CHRSJ Chief who described the action of EFCC as illegal, anathema, abomination, unconstitutional, undemocractic, evil, ungodly, satanic and crime against God and humanity, requesting from the EFCC to tender unreserved public apology to Governor Ayodele Fayose over the trauma they(EFCC) made him to pass through in the last 48 hours.

Anambra: Mrs Obiano Wins Excellence Award In Atlanta, Becomes Honorary Citizen Of Georgia (Photos)


Newsflashngr can authoritatively report that On the heels of her recent recognitions and honour by the UNICEF and EU for dedication to charitable courses, the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano on 18th June 2016 received the 2016 Excellence Award, and was made Honorary Georgia Citizen with further honour and commendation for “outstanding services and accomplishments” in a ceremony held at The Westin Hotels & Resort, Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America.

The 2016 Excellence Award was conferred by the Nigerian Women Association of Atlanta, Georgia (NWAG), the Honorary Georgia Citizen was courtesy of a proclamation signed by the Secretary of the State of Georgia, Brian P. Kemp, while the third honour and commendation was contained in a Resolution at Georgia House of Representatives.

Speaking on the significance of the award to Mrs. Obiano, President of NWAG, Dr. (Mrs) Stella E. Etta stated, “her NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ) benefits the downtrodden and disadvantaged, provides medical assistance, and solutions to unemployment issues in Anambra State. These are all closely aligned with NWAG mission in empowering women, youth and children.”

Also presenting the Honorary Georgia Citizenship to the wife of the governor, Representative of District 35 Metropolitan Atlanta, Senator Donzella James expressed her appreciation as she read the citation in a special resolution recognizing the accomplishments of Mrs.Ebelechukwu Obiano which stated;
“May this Honorary Citizen be afforded every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia in all her travels to other states to nations beyond the borders, beyond United States of America or wherever she may hereafter travel or reside.”

Senator Donzella emphasized that the honour to Mrs Obiano is special “because she is being honoured for outstanding services with the highest honour for any Honorary Georgia Citizen as our Goodwill Ambassador.”

In the same vein, the President/Chair of Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, Georgia house of Representative, Dee Dawkins-Haigler, presented Mrs Obiano with the signed Resolution honouring her for what she described as “outstanding accomplishments” in service to communities.

Accepting the honours from the three institutions, the wife of the governor thanked NWAG, the Senate and House of Reps for their gestures and assured that the award and honours would spur her to greater heights.

Chief Okeke, Obiano Blame Pro-Biafra Agitations On Lack Of Knowledge Of Past History (Must Read)

NEWSFLASHNGR can authoritatively report that the former chairman of Police Service Commission and property investment guru, Chief Simon Okeke yesterday blamed the current separatist agitations in different parts of Southern Nigeria on lack of knowledge of history of the country by the younger generation.

Okeke who chaired public presentation of two books: ‘Here to Serve-Advocacy for Good Governance and Regarscent Past- A collection of Poems’ written by the former Secretary to Anambra State Government, Hon. Oseloka Henry Obaze advocated for the teaching of Nigerian history especially history of the Nigeria Civil War in schools so that “the younger generation will know where we were and where we are today”.

He said that he was sure more than 90 percent of agitators for Biafra were not born before the Civil War and if they learn what caused it they will be in a position to shape their stand on some national issues.

Okeke also blamed the current agitations on three issues: namely bad governance of President Muhammadu Buhari who he criticized for making lopsided appointments; lack of cohesion among Igbo groups and mass unemployment.

He counseled Governors of the five Eastern States to team up and form a corporation to absorb the teaming population of unemployed people in the area.

He congratulated Hon. Obaze for sparing time to write two books within one year for posterity to know how Governor Peter Obi and his successor Chief Willie Obiano performed in office.

The reviewer of the book, ‘Here to Serve’ and former Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike, Professor Ikenna Onyido noted that until leaders realize that they were voted into office to enrich future generation, then only a few will be celebrated after they had left office.

Onyido concluded that “We must begin now to groom future leaders. Let us put up Centre for Leadership in Awka”.

The women especially the widows among them dressed inT shirt boldly inscribed ‘widows’ in front and back, rolled on the ground, cried for sympathy for the Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to intervene and save them from their alleged ongoing harassment and intimidation by those they said wants to drive them out of their present location of trading where they are not paying for stores to where they will be made to pay exorbitantly.

They also sang anti Ogbaru Council Caretaker Committee Chairman songs and displayed placards with inscriptions as “Ogbaru LGA Chairman leave us alone”, “Seven of us have died since two weeks we are being chased out of our market” We will never leave where we are making money to train our children for a place selfish politicians have designed for money that will go into their pockets”, “Two women were raped along the broad to where we are told to relocate”.

Serious War At The Iwuanyanwu’s Family As The Children Battle Their Father Over Plans To Sell Off Champion Newspapers

All is not well with the Publisher of Champion newspapers, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as his children are set to battle him over plans to sell of the ailing newspapers.

The children led by Iwuanyanwu’s first daughter and Editor in Chief/ Managing Director of Champion newspapers, Mrs Nwadiuto Iheakanwa are said to have vowed to resist the plan with the last point of their blood, stressing that they would not allow the business mogul to sell off the only major legacy standing in his name.

A family source told 247ureports.com that the children had warned potential buyers to steer clear of the expansive newspaper complex or risk losing their money as the newspaper is not for sale.

Before now, rumours of potential investors bidding to buy the ailing newspaper had been rife. Former Abia state governor, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and Capital Oil boss, Chief Ifeanyi Uba, were at different times, rumoured to be interested in buying the newspaper.

Three days ago the entire Nation was thrown into mourning by the sudden death of former Super Eagle coach Stephen Okechukwu Chinedu Keshi, while the family members were suspecting foul play.

Another sad news broke this morning that the ancient city of Benin have decided to claim the life of yet another high profile ex int’l and former Super Eagles coach Amodu Shuaibu who passed on some few hours ago.

Am really sobbing right now. Don’t know how the family members and football fraternity will deal with this sad event.
What else can we do but pray the soul of the dead rest in perfect peace?

No fewer than 642 militants on Friday asked the Federal Government to reclaim the ceded Bakassi Peninsular from Cameroon. Read the full statement signed by Gen. Simply, plus the sophisticated gun boats, browning machine gun and rocket launchers they displayed recently below…

The armed group, referred to as Bakassi Strike Force, said apart from not being carried along before, during and after the ceding process, indigenes of Bakassi had been neglected by the Federal Government and other local and international stakeholders.

The militants, also known as Esighi group, had a one-hour boat display with heavy weapons around Esighi axis of Bakassi, before proceeding to Esuk-Mba.

In a sheer display of its combat readiness, the group brandished weapons such as sophisticated gun boats, browning machine gun and rocket launchers, among others.

While admitting that they would be ready to embrace amnesty if extended to them, leader of the group, Gen. Simply, also known as Humble Lion, said the people of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states had been sidelined by the Federal Government in the amnesty programme.

Muslim Youths Fast Becoming Vampires As They Attack Yet Another Christian Carpenter For Eating During Fasting

There was confusion in some parts of Kakuri, in Kaduna South Local Government Area, when a 41-year-old carpenter, Mr. Francis Emmanuel Francis, almost lost his right eye on Tuesday following an attack on him by Muslim youths for not observing the Ramadan fast.

This is coming barely a week after a 74-year-old, Mrs Bridget Agbahime, was murdered in Kano for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.

An eyewitness account had it that the carpenter courted trouble for himself when he was spotted by some Muslim boys in the Sokoto Road area of Kakuri, at about 2.30pm, eating when others were supposed to be observing the fast. This drew the ire of the youth who started beating him.

Emmanuel, according to the eyewitness, was given the beating of his life and subsequently rushed to the St. Gerard Catholic Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

He was inflicted with deep machete cuts on his head and other parts of his body during the incident.
Narrating his ordeal to journalists from his hospital bed, Emmanuel said he was taking his launch when the boys, numbering about six, descended on him on the grounds that he was not fasting.

He said, “I went to buy wood to do some work. When I came back, I bought food to eat. As I was eating, about six Hausa boys came and asked me whether I was a Muslim or a Christian. I did not answer them. They asked me why I was not fasting. I told them that I am not a Muslim.

Newsflashngr can report that the executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Wille Obiano has pledged to offset the hospital bills of some Biafra agitators injured during the celebration to mark the 49th anniversary of declaration of Biafra Nation and called for calm over the crisis rocking Nkpor community just as a chieftain of All Progressive Congress APC, Chief Zeribe Ezeanuna, demands apology from the Governor over the alleged massacre of the agitators at Nkpor recently.

He made the pledge at Nkpor town hall when he came to sympathize with the people of Nkpor on the alleged bloody clash between the security operatives and the Biafra agitators in which about 50 members were reportedly massacred and scores injured.

According to the Governor “we have compiled the list of the injured in the different hospitals where they are hospitalized”.

He urged the Nkpor people to always ward off undesirable elements who come into the community to tarnish their image.

He said, “I came to sympathize to you for what happened. “Before I came in as the Governor people did not sleep but now we sleep, don’t allow strangers to disturb Nkpor, nothing happens under my watch” he said.

He recalled that he used diplomacy to evacuate Boko Haram suspects brought into Ekwulobia Prisons and also gave befitting burial to Biafra war heroes.
