The present Senior Advocates of Anarchy, also referred to as Democratic or Constitutional Anarchists are dominated by the recipients of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)-a supposed eminent title created by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) for outstanding and distinguished legal practitioners and law lecturers in Nigeria. The number of SANs in Nigeria has risen to over 400 from its 344 as at 7th of July 2011. By the anarchical activities of these legal anarchists, Nigeria’s democracy and its constitutionalism have been grossly battered. The principles of rule of law including civil liberties, equality before the law, fair hearing and fair trial have also been battered and bastardized. Through the coupist and anarchical activities of these latter day constitutional and democratic enemies, pocketful of advancements made in these areas in the last dispensation including observance of rule of law and protection of constitutional liberties have been dangerously reversed. The most worrying part of it all is that these are the same characters that were respected locally and internationally as the beacons of democratic freedoms and advocates of the voiceless particularly in two last democratic governance dispensations. Economically and socially, most of these anarchists have made it and ought to be conscientiously contented. How they turned themselves into agents of darkness and profiteers of democratic anarchy still baffles and shocks us till date. Shockingly too, most of the governance and constitutional blunders and regime atrocities committed by the Buhari administration today are solely on account of the anarchical advice and clandestine roles of the Senior Advocates of Anarchy and their conspirators under reference. Newsflashngr-The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano is in deep mourning over the death of the principal of his alma mater, Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha, Rev, Fr. Nicholas Chukwuemeka Tagbo, OON who passed on at the weekend. Governor Obiano was probably one of the few former students of the deceased teacher to see him before his death, having paid him an unscheduled visit at the hospital just before he passed on. “The death of Fr. Tagbo came as a rude shock to me. Although he was a fairly old man, he was strongly built and very highly disciplined. I never could imagine that Fr. Tagbo would leave us so soon,” Governor Obiano reasoned, pointing out that he had no idea that his last visit to the hospital to meet Fr. Tagbo would be their last encounter on earth. “I visited him a few days before his demise in the company of Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the State Government and Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta, Commissioner for Information who are fellow old boys of CKC. He received us warmly and we left the hospital with hopes of his speedy recovery. But alas, that was not to be! Well, God knows best. It added that Mr. Ogar was not qualified to benefit from the ruling of the Court because there was no evidence of Ogar’s participation in the said Abia State PDP’s Primary election in December 14th, 2014 as he failed to sign the election result of the said primary, noted that Ogar just mislead Justice Abang of the Abuja High Court during the judicial process, adding that Buhari led ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) was planning to declare State of Emergency in some opposition states, including Abia and Ekiti States, in the country in order to give leeway for ruling party to come to power in those States through backdoor. The Chief Judge of Anambra state, Justice Peter Umeadi has said the state judiciary would establish courts for alternative dispute resolutions. Umeadi said the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed had given the approval through the Multi-Door Court House scheme. A Multi-Door Court house handles matters mostly on arbitration under Alternative Dispute Resolution. Umeadi disclosed this while swearing in two Deputy Chief Registrars, Mrs Udeora Philip Chibueze and Mr Peter Chinonyelu of the state High court. He said Anambra State was one of the states to benefit from the pilot scheme of the National Judicial Council. The CJ stated that ADR was the trend the world over, stressing that it was the most peaceful way to settle disputes without much waste of time, unlike the litigation method. He implored the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano to do the needful so that the scheme would take off in the state in earnest. Gunmen At About 2:30 Am Raids Anambra State NAN Office, Beats Up Security Officer On Duty Report reaching newsflashngr.com indicates that, Gunmen at about 2.30am on Friday raided the Anambra office of the News Agency of Nigeria located near Government House Awka, the state capital. They beat up the security man, Kenneth Udeh while valuable of the agency were carted away. The bandits who allegedly scaled the perimeter fence gained entry into the building by cutting two burglary proofs. Narrating the incident, NAN security man on duty, Mr Kenneth Edeh said the suspects attacked the office at about 2.30 am with guns and machetes. Edeh said he only saw three of the gang while others laid ambush around. “When they came in through the fence, they demanded the keys to the office and I told them, they are not with me, and they wanted to shoot at me but another just said they should machete me. “So they started macheting me until I could no longer resist before they started breaking the protector and wall to gain entry and remove valuables,” he said. Five Persons Sustain High Degree Injuries, Vehicles, Properties Worth Millions Destroyed In Anambra Market Protest Against Revenue Agents Newsflashngr can authoritatively report that five persons did sustained injuries while property worth millions was destroyed during a fracas that ensued between traders and revenue agents at the Electrical Dealers International Market, Obosi near Onitsha, Anambra. Trouble started on Thursday morning (30th June 2016) when the traders numbering more than three hundred stormed the office of the market chairman, Mr Benjamin Orji to stage the protest. They accused the chairman of conniving with the revenue agents to allegedly extort money from them. “Our grievance is that these agents collect money from us but write down a different amount in the receipts issued to us. “I was asked to pay N36, 000 for tax, sanitation and development levies but was surprisingly issued with N19, 200 receipt and when I complained, they started harassing and threatening to beat me. “This has been their way of extorting money from traders without the knowledge of the state government,” a trader, Mr Uchenna Uchenowa, said. Another trader, Mr Clement Nnabuife said they were asked to pay tax and levies from 2013 till date. According to him, we have been paying sanitation levies but for over two years, no one has collected refuse from the market. Also speaking, Mr Chidi Ibagwa, a former chairman in the market said the payment system was against the instruction of the state government that all taxes and levies should be paid in the bank. “The bone of contention is that some people are claiming ownership of the market and are using the state government’s authority to collect tax and levies from the people. “Government should look into the matter to allow us re-organise ourselves and pay these taxes and levies appropriately,” Ibagwa said. He called on the state government to set up a panel of inquiry to ascertain the root cause of the crisis and ensure the conduct of for free and fair election to elect the market executive. On his part, the chairman of the market, Mr Benjamin Orji denied the allegation that he was conniving with the revenue agents to defraud traders. Tension In Anambra State As Oba Youths Protest The Allege Sale Of Abandoned Proposed Int’l Airport Land In Oba (Photos) Newsflashngr – All hell was let loose yesterday in Oba, Idemili South Council Area of Anambra State as youths numbering over 2000 grounded business and other activities in the area over the controversy surrounding the sale, acquisition and development of the abandoned Anambra State proposed site for the State International airport Oba.The traditional ruler of the community His Royal Highness, Igwe Peter Ezenwa, the Eze Okpoko 1 of Oba had called a meeting of all Oba youths following the disagreement among the youths over what the former Oba International Airport land will be used for, as it has been alleged that the government of the state has released 25 percent of the 580 hecters of the land to the owners. The youths who gathered in their numbers at the palace of the traditional ruler of the town HRH Igwe Ezenwa of Oba were aggrieved about the controversy and abandonment of the proposed airport by the Anambra State Government and as such are opposed to the appeal being made by the traditional ruler and the elders of the community for them stop selling the land as as it has not been fully released by the state government to the community.The youths bolted out the palace of the traditional ruler and stormed to the road in protest against any attempt by the traditional ruler and Oba elders to stop them from selling the lands to interested buyers and to those they said are bringing genuine development to the community, including the Emodi Shoe Dealers Association they said have acquired land their for their business.The youth however did not carry placards, they were earlier planning to use to embark on the demonstration, rather, they blocked the ever busy Onitsha Nnewi Old Road thereby disrupting vehicular movements for some hours before they made way for traffic flow. Lieutenant General Buratai’s promotion dates are: Lieutenant (January 1985) Captain (January 1989) Major (January 1994) Lieutenant Colonel (January 1998) Colonel (January 2004) Brigadier General (January 2009) Major General (January 2012) Lieutenant General (August 2015) Now, let’s look at the salary structure of the Nigerian army: Nigerian Army Salary Structure per month for Commissioned Officers as at Dec, 2015 Second Lieutenant- N120,000 Lieutenant- N180,000 Captain- N220,000 Major- N300,000 Lt. Colonel- N350,000 Colonel- N550,000 Brigadier General- N750,000 Major General- N950,000 Lt. General- N1 million General- N1.5 million Note: The salaries were far less than the present structure. Former President Goodluck Jonathan approved the Review of the Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS) in July 2010. N115. 6million was alleged to have been paid for a property in Dubai. If the properties are two as reports allege, then we should be talking about N230million or more. Assuming General Buruntai didnt touch his salary since he joined army till 2014 and using the current salary structure (which is much more that what he actually received), he should have the following in his bank as at January, 2014: N8, 640, 000 as a Lieutenant N13, 200, 000 as a captain N14, 400, 000 as a major N25, 200, 000 as a Lt. Col N33, 000, 000 as a Col N27, 000,000 as Brig. General N22, 800, 000 as a major General Total earnings by Gen Buruntai since joining the army in 1985 till January 2014 is much less than N144, 240, 000. Now, being an award winning, globally acclaimed saver of the century, he might be saving up to 50% of his salary(which is practically impossible). That gives us less than N72, 120, 000. This amount cannot buy a house in Dubai let alone two. There are many grey areas to be addressed before drawing conclusions. With this, you can form your own opinion and draw your own conclusions but be warned that you are sorely responsible for any opinion or conclusion you draw from this computation. Analysis: Alleged Diversion Of N3.6bn Anambra Funds To APGA Loyalists Unconstitutional (The Untold Truth) Our attention has been drawn to a grand plan to siphon Anambra State money to the tune of N3.6bn to APGA loyalists in the 177 towns in Anambra State. It is a n@ked corruption! We note that different publications online and different commentaries have described this venture by other names, but characteristically, we are stating what it is and asking Governor Obiano that stealing from the state in broad daylight belongs to the dark era before the 2003 liberation. In those days that the locusts up, unknown Ndi Anambra billions of state resources were retired as ‘flower planting funds’ at the local level, only to turn around to announce ‘Zero Allocation’ at the centre. It is inconceivable that a state that has by its footwork shown tremendous lack of resources to execute the bare essentials is railroading its people into a well crafted corruption guile akin to the sand-filling of the Bar Beach towards election time, under the watch of Minster of Works Anenih when a permanent development plan was already afoot and the federal government had not paid its component. To those who try to disguise this broad-day robbery that is alien to the 2016 budget in Anambra State as community projects, the 1999 constitution as amended does not recognize towns, town unions and town party faithful as a tier of government. The spirit of that constitution recognizes that some towns are very small and others are very big. It therefore proceeds, on the basis of population, to organize groups of towns into units recognized by the same constitution as local governments specifically named in the First schedule therein. It is therefore inconceivable that Gov Willie Obiano who has on his own violated Section 7(1) of the constitution by not having a validly elected local government in the 21 I Anambra State in the time being, will go ahead to completely demolish the essence of local governments and move Anambra state funds to individuals affiliated to his political party in entities not recognized by the constitution for purposes of diversion of funds. Okonkwo pointed out that since the development, no person in the community has slept with two eyes closed as all prominent sons and daughters of the community have fled the area. He expressed dismay that agents of the state government could act in an aloof manner by dabbling into a issue that has lasted for more than three decades which illustrious sons and daughters, including some of the dramatic personae in the present Caretaker fiasco, of the community came together and impressed upon him and others to painstakingly and patriotically resolve. But just as they were concluding the assignment, a group of ambitious sons of the community, five of whom were now in the Caretaker team went to court to stop his progress. So while the case was pending, he appealed for the court’s permission to conduct the town Union election so as to hand over. But the court laid the choice on the doorstep of the parties to the suit, which the complainants turned down. Instead, they went to the two government officials to procure a Caretaker committee position for themselves and cronies. Five of the litigants who took Okonkwo and the community to court, including chairman of the ‘Caretaker’ Committee made the list. They have, according to information fixed this weekend for an “election” into the town Union leadership and had also arbitrarily gone ahead to send out list of ‘who’ and ‘what’ they want as delegates for the election. Describing the development as bizarre, Prince Hez Okonkwo therefore appealed to Gov Willie Obiano to put a halt to the charade, accord respect to the rule of law and also to call the two officers to order. Newsflashngr.com can authoritatively report that the Anambra state chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria has threatened to embark on strike for the inability of the state government to grant financial autonomy to the state judiciary as well as non-payment of 2015 leave allowances to its members in the state. It had issued a two-week ultimatum to the state government in this respect. The state chairman of JUSUN, Mr. Mark Ifezue, stated this on Thursday in a press briefing in Awka, the state capital. He said the government should take the blame of this action as the workers had run out of patience. Ifezue wondered why the state government had reneged on the Memorandum of Understanding it signed with JUSUN on the issue of financial autonomy for the judiciary in the state some months back. He expressed disgust over nonpayment of 2015 leave allowances to judiciary workers in the state while other workers were paid theirs since December last year. Their statement read, “Recall that the Union has written severally to the state Government, drawing their attention to the continued breach of the M.O.U on Financial Autonomy of the State Judiciary entered into by the State Government and the Judiciary Staff Union; but could only get an unhelpful response from the office of the Secretary to the State Government”. The House of Representatives, on Wednesday, urged the Presidency to publish the actual amount so far accumulated in the Treasury Single Account (TSA). The House also urged the Presidency to make available the spending plan for the fund as well as a comprehensive list of abandoned projects from which such funds accrued. The resolution followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Adamu Kamale (APC- Adamawa), who recalled that the Federal Government operated a pilot scheme for a single account in 2012, using 217 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA), as a case study. According to him, it is the success of the scheme that motivated the present administration to fully implement the TSA. “We are aware of the disclosure by the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, on March 3, 2016 that from the execution of the TSA, a balance of N2.9 trillion has been accumulated from the MDAs.” Kamale said despite federal government’ s commitment to combat corrupt practices, eliminate waste in public finance and ensure adequate fund flow to critical sectors to facilitate development, some establishments were still left out of the TSA platform. “It is equally of concern that while Section 80 (1) of the Constitution regarding maintenance of Federation Account provides a broad legal framework, it does not address the operational details.
