Thanks,
From the chart pics, what difference do you watch out for between the bullish wedge formed and the head & shoulders pattern? Apart from the slope of the neck line.

After our primaries this weekend, the picture will be clearer. We will know whether we need to pull more funds from the system or not.

After paying school fees to Caverton, I am forcing myself to study at home o. Thank God for patient Ogas like you and some others here.

Long Live NSEMPAians.

My target is to read enough so I can detect a stock with bounty... even though sometimes, things get really confusing. I have been trying to find out why easykobo.com ratios never tally with mine, while I read Infinitisi zerodha series.

I wonder oh. I have been reading the guys comments and watching him go round and round only to arrive at the same place. Assuming fidelity took 3months doctor their result, he wants to now catch them and unravel it in less than 24hrs without any knowledge of accounting/auditing.
It was the prolonged effect of night shift. I must say I started laughing when I realized that I should have been sleeping instead of worrying over nothing. I must learn either by hook or crook.. grin grin

A question please, what does it mean when we say:

PROFIT FOR THE PERIOD is 11,843 and TOTAL COMPREHENSIVE INCOME FOR THE PERIOD, NET OF TAX is 8,514 when tax has been deducted previously.

Secondly, wouldn't it be right to factor in the reclassified losses when calculating the true EPS?

Is there a separate account where these reclassified losses are channeled to (eg the retained earnings)?

#refer to Fidelity H1 result.
wanaj0 pls help me answer this.

Those are EFFICIENCY ratios. Nothing to do with how expensive the company is. Different ratios for different things.
Thanks a lot but there was a good correlation and differentiation. The part that got me thinking is when I divide the profit by the number of outstanding shares. It messed up the maths.

If you observe carefully, I put some questions above that need to be clarified.

Well, I think Fidelity Bank hired a very good doctor this year.

My eyes were just opened to some ratios. It is amazing the way a newbie can be easily deceived.

Assignment for all newbies:

Go an do the basic maths of calculating how much profit each company on NSE makes from a revenue of 1 billion.

You will quickly see why some companies are preferred over others, you will know why some kobokobo banks are actually more expensive in the long run.

I have been studying Fidelity bank result like I have an exam to write on it.

This seems to be the magic.

Credit related fees NGN 4,270 (H1 2018) --- NGN 568 (H1 2017).

Please, any explanation for this increase? These days there is usually a reason to believe the banks always have something to hide.

Lol. Thanks for watching my back. What I have in Skye is not something i cannot forfeit should it get to that stage. Mpeace, thank you too.

I mentioned somewhere here that i sold my skye shares already and waiting for another round trip. Though I later bought just very small units (when there was price resistance at 64k) with the intention to buying more when the price goes down again.

However, before anyone quickly laughs or accuses, they should know that this goes beyond just "thank goodness I'm not in Skye" but rather a reflection of many ills going on in the system. If they should open the 'yansh' of some banks window-dressing reports, the findings might be shocking to many.

I was just not happy about the way CBN went about all these acquisition of a thing when they were also not transparent with the whole process and they have their hands soiled as well.

These puzzle questions still remains: Why did the CBN-appointed management failed to go after the properties of those that ran the bank aground with ridiculous unpaid loans? Are those people also bigger than CBN? Why was the intervention fund CBN gave not been monitored? Why did CBN covered the mess up till this point? Now another billions injection into a bridge bank huh

Like I said before, there's more to this and these guys were not telling us everything.
Really these questions hit the core of the rot existing in the whole CBN-SKYE romance. The most annoying one is why did they insinuate that they were working to release outstanding financial results? From this whole saga, shareholders are at risk from all angles:

-Risk from management of coy
-Risk from fellow shareholders
-Risk from MM
-Risk from government
-Risk from regulatory bodies.

Now the big question is why would I want to leave my money indefinitely in a stock with all these crocodiles?

We all need a Wanaj0, a Chibuking, an Agba, a Peterichy, a loco and a Mendes in our lives. You never really know when you run out of common sense until you read their comments a second time.

OGG no offense, it was clearly stated that skye was a death trap. Those chasing Japaul and Oando, your time is coming.

#CAVERTON to the SKYE.

My dear u can hear what u wish to hear and believe what u wish to believe.
With SKYE BANK, it was purely an INFORMATIVE play as at the TIME !!
I got some 1st hand INFO, swiftly KEYED IN and also told some folks to do the same when the coy was selling for between 0.53 to 0.55k. Together, we all joined in the ride up to near that 52 weeks high of N1.61... making an almost 200% ROI !!
But though my source of Info was a strong reliable one, I still knew the coy wasn't FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND. ...and so I knew I would need to sell before the target price I was told it could get to.
For that reason, and because I recall I carried a lot of folks along (many sent me mails and I advised them to buy), I REPEATEDLY ANNOUNCED WHEN I SOLD OFF ABOUT 90% of my holding the day before it hit its 52 weeks high. ...I even put out a screen shot of some of my sale here, even though I was under no obligation to do so.
I also ALERTED EVERYONE that had been guided to SELL. Many did at near the 52 weeks high, while some sold thereafter. (I wouldn't want to mention names but those who were involved know themselves)
Not trying to prove anything but I recall that someone here who benefited immensely from the SKYE play then, offered to give me N100,000 as a show of gratitude after he personally told me he made nearly N1.3M ROI, but I mildly turned it down. ...I've never accepted any financial gift from anyone !!
In the end everyone I carried along was HAPPY and whatever might have happened thereafter is history.

Btw, I know why u called me out. But am not so sure if u know that its NOT everyone that toil with their INTEGRITY.
If u ever think/believe that Onegentleguys posts are with an attached motive to deceive, then u can believe anything !!
Ordinarily, I would not have replied to this post (given the motive) but I just wanted to REFRESH ur memory.

Regards.
Lol, lovely.

What is it with the central bank briefing of certain stakeholders including NDIC etal?

Any hidden info, cause all the banking stocks seem to have a lot of steam. Does MPC meeting next week have something to do with the increased activity?

Please let's be civil, like seriously this thread is for all our benefit. Let's encourage discussions, pros and cons. I "liked" all the comment regarding First Aluminum because they are good. This is what we came here for.

MonkeyHunter keep being the optimist, Wanaj0 thank you for putting fear of God in our body, Mcy56 thank you for always bringing up kobostock discussions. Without you, I won't even remember that NSE has stocks below N1.

Numbers don't tell the whole story!

What do you use to gauge the future? A company whose profit dropped from N177m to N42m??

What is the future of Aluminium industry in Nigeria? What are the key risks? How is First Aluminium managing those risks? What competitive advantage does First Aluminium has? Who are the competitors? Do they have a monopoly? Can they control the price? Many questions that the so called numbers don't speak to!
This is FA at it's best. Amazing!

JUST IN:

CAVERTON OFFSHORE SUPPORT GROUP has just kick started its partnership deal with the HONEYWELL AEROSPACE INC.
Honeywell Aerospace Inc. is the worlds largest and leading provider of navigation, flight control & management systems including aero display systems.
The partnership which saw CAVERTON HELICOPTERS LTD (CHL), a fully owned subsidiary of the CAVERTON GROUP given a honeywell dealership licence was entered into sometime in July.
With this new deal, CHL is now Honeywell Aerospace Inc approved helicopter & military avionics dealer in west africa.
The deal will also help to ENSURE a reduced exposure to unexpected maintenance costs, leading to better control of annual maintenance budgets for the CAVERTON GROUP.

Another strong POSITIVE development for all stakeholders within the CAVERTON GROUP. ...another great channel to grow revenue and boost earnings !!
https://screenshotscdn.firefoxusercontent.com/images/562c0761-444f-443f-b0a5-9a9c1b30e0d7.png
https://aerospace.honeywell.com/en/press-release-listing/2018/september/honeywell-intl-inc-s-avionics-protection-plan-selected-by-africa-based-helicopter-operators

Next in line shall be the company's maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) project. ...a world class aviation maintenance platform.

Lots of POSITIVES for this coy... fundamentally sound (with a near double digit growth across key major indicators including net profit margin, RORE, ROAE, ROAA, Interest coverage and Equity Multiplier), high and stable oil price plus several juicy deals for the helicopter, Integrated services and also their marine subsidiaries.
Indeed Q3 and 2018 YE will be interesting !! ...We'll see what the future holds.
I have since said that CAVERTON is a very STRONG BUY from our end... in fact ACCUMULATE.
using a TTM EPS of 88k at a risk-adjusted rate of 14%, CAVERTON should sell for NO less than N6.20 !!... that's an amazing approx 244% DISCOUNT from the current market price of N1.80

...those who know, know what to do.

DISCLAIMER: NOT a BUY recommendation.
Better... even though the daily volume of Caverton is not very encouraging. Good info and market will react to this in q3 result although there is still some time for it to go lower if the index misbehaves. Also, people need to read the post carefully else they may think Caverton is the new carrier for Honeywell... grin grin
