PETERiCHY: Considering developments in the company and strategies to drive expansion and growth, we foresee a higher earnings power at the end of 2018 that would drive the price and offer dividend to shareholders in the coming years. The stock is currently selling at 42 kobo, indicating a huge intrinsic value for discerning investors, especially considering that the Book Value is currently N1.26 per share, while Price/Book Value of 0.38. This means that investors are paying less for the company’s intrinsic value.
With the progress recorded in recent years and the first quarter 2018 earnings report, there is an indication that the company would beat its earnings forecast for 2018. This is based on the fact that government at federal and state levels are eager to concentrate efforts on improving the nation’s health care system. The current Book Value at N1.26 per share and profit margin of 22.42% signify that the stock is undervalued, just as its Net Profit Margin of 22%, indicates that from every Naira generated from sales, 22 kobo is retained as profit.

If the above report is TRUE then their shareholders should be ready to kill cow and cook new soup come July 2019.

soloniger: DON'T BE LIKE A FROG .(for those averaging down)
Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water.
As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly.
The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water.
Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jmp out.
The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. ery soon the frog dies.
What killed the frg?
Think about it…!!
I know many of us will say the boiling waer. But the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out.
My Dear, we all need to adjust with situations, but we need to be sure when we eed to adjust and when we need to move on.
There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actios.
Let us decide when to jump…!!
Let's jump while we still have the strength.
Let's jump when water is not at the boiling point Hmmmnnn... Nice one. My stop loss takes away all my emotions. It simply translates my emotions to -5%. |

rebekah2011: As long as a bank is in the business of extending credit facilities to its customers, loans provisioning will never stop.
Bad debt and provision for loans are two separate things. The banking prudential guidelines make certain basis to provide for loans, either it is performing or not. In recent times IFRS has also made the provisioning to be wider than it was before. A debt becomes bad when the individual or corporate entity who was given loan is unable to repay the loans after the terms agreed by both parties. So it is the provisioning that comes first, then it becomes bad and the bank will now decide to write off.
Banks give out loans out of the deposit made by the depositors or loans sourced from international finance agencies. So when loans go bad and it is written off, the depositors will still have to be paid. Provisioning will have to occur when the loan is impaired. Thanks, So provisioning is like a savings account (insurance)? From which the bank keeps part of its profit to payback depositors. Meaning the money is not totally lost until loan is impaired. Help correct my reasoning / statements above please. Who determines what to provision? Is it CBN or the bank? |

Diamond bank UK subsidiary is worth around N100B, with this fund available and the acquisition of a national licence, is there a possibility that the bank's predicament can improve given the current state of its books?
I ask because I still plan to buy Diamond Bank by December. Thanks. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by swilo: 8:40am On Nov 23, 2018 |
Question:
When does a bank stop loan loss provisioning?
Is it bad debt that increases loan loss provisioning?
If it is bad debt, why do banks not simply cancel the debts and regularize their books to reduce the provisioning? |
