onegentleguy: Apparently, someone is either not been honest or do not have a practical understanding of what it means to be in a debt crisis.
U can NOT lay claim to be managing well ur debt burden, when ur current debt to GDP ratio, and worse still ur debt to REVENUE has been worsening with no visible positive impact on the real sector of the economy !! U can NOT claim to have a working debt profile when a greater % (of over 40%) of ur total debt burden is been utilized with funding CONSUMPTION !! U can NOT assume that ur debt burden is well managed when less than 20% of ur total debt spend on consumption has gone to PRODUCTION, less on key infrastructure spend and even much less on core drivable sectors of the economy. (like education).
This guys are high on something. Someone should pls remind them that the current so-called stable fiscal policy stance has NOT managed to reflect on the larger economy. They are also not seen the current u-turn on the ease of the country's inflation. Someone, somewhere, really to needs to start viewing things as broad as they are wide.
It is well !! "Director-General of Nigeria’s Debt Management Office (DMO), Ms Patience Oniha, has allayed fears of some observers that the country was already in a debt crisis. However, the debt office boss admitted that the nation was not generating enough revenue to fund some critical operations, but stressed that Nigeria was still capable of servicing her debts. Ms Oniha, in a chat with newsmen on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group summit in Indonesia, noted that efforts were being done to avert a debt crisis in the Africa’s largest economy." Very political combo.. Running Nigeria like it is a secondary school chemistry laboratory.. |

Mcy56: Yeah. For two consecutive years now, they declared 14k, a dividend higher than what FCMB or even Fidelity declared, yet it wasnt patronize as such. You can only see buyers queing up at lower prices..... below 1.40. However, I think its a stock any dividend lover should have in his/her portfolio and besides, it doesnt shed price as such during bear period. They have subsidiaries in other countries which generates good revenue for them . So as a group, they make good profits yearly. oh.. thanks. |

Mcy56: Continental Re is a good insurance stock which should be selling at nothing less than N2, it consistently pay yearly dividend. In fact it should take its place among the best 3 insurance stocks on the Exchange but I think its not sentimentally favoured and it doesnt have active MM I suppose. It"s movement is unpredictable. One supplier might just come and crash the price just like that. Similar scenario happened last week. I noticed it. Question.. What accounts for revenue increase for Continental reinsure? I ask because it insures the insurance coys and I want to believe rates are more or less fixed. |

hyness: Bored? no @mendes am not, my life is full and am busy. l have no time to look for roforofo wit any faceless person behind the keyboards who deliberately targets people for no reason. People make jokes here, criticise opinions/views but do not purposely pick on anyone for no reason. Pages have been filled here with off topics playfulness, and no one begrudge, then they see a post or two that is even on topic and they come out! This Forum is full of lots of respectable people who come to selflessly & freely share their knowledge and experiences (God bless them) on stock trading and matters around it/related to it, which is the essence of the platform, so am not gonna derail the thread by engaging in any unnecessary exchanges, I will just ignore! Today is Sunday o.. Someone cannot play with you... Sister mi. |

Dupeodus: If you want to join me in this fight against the AIICO Private Placement, please email me at Modupe@Comcast.net. There is so much corruption going on in Nigeria's corporate governance. Retail investors should not just roll over. I have already filed a complaint against the company with the SEC but we need to attack the EGM itself. Dupe, what is the outcome of this? Seems the EGM has taken place already. pluto09: Aiico quarterly results are not reliable o. All those profits can disappear by year end. Sir Wanaj0 / Sir Pluto09, you never passed this Aiico through the porter's 5 forces stuff again. With the injection of the N5.28B, (PP shares ranked same as ordinary shares) all things being equal, Aiico should trade for N0.96k or more (from the ordinary shareholder's standpoint, although N1.20 is the perceived value). This doesnt factor in the diluting effect of the PP shares on the EPS. Another analyst, online, thinks some figures in the AFS & QFS, if properly placed and accounted for will make Aiico to be priced @ N3.26 (this is subjective). What this PP investor is doing seems to be more legit compared to what Milost tried to do with Japaul. |

onegentleguy: On AIICO; EGM has just ended, with the motion for a SPECIAL PLACEMENT TO A CORE INVESTOR at an offer PRICE of N1.20 successfully passed !! ...and the boared doing well enough to clear some shareholder worries WITH A SOLID...
#BELIEVE #ANDKEEPBELIEVING OGG, Please, can you highlight the post where you tore down AIICO's financials especially H1? The analysis I saw online is so subjective and full of beliefs. For an investor to pay 120k for an 80k share means there is a magic wand somewhere. |

locodemy: No I don't have it because I am in shortage of cash now.i consider it as the best insurance stock to buy now following their latest result and q3 to drop soon and the right issue @ 1.20.Tomorrow will show us a clearer direction on the stock. Does rights issue always imply increase in stock price? Why will I take up my rights when I can get the stock for less in the secondary market? I am just curious.. |

Is there any news of mergers or acquisitions yet within the insurance sector? What is the outcome of MBenefit's right issue over/under/not subscribed? Where will Aiico fall after the sorting T1 or T2? Cc: OGG and Mcy56 |
