This fool is encouraging revolution but when the people of egypt and libya were fighting their dictators to gain freedom, he was busy negociating on behalf of the dictators. He should shut his mouth or better still restrict it to south africa were the ANC is as corrupt as PDP. |
Chartey: You are not being objective. We are talking RETAIL businesses here not manufacturing or whatever, and even the China you are talking about has such a protectionist policy in that sub-sector. If you want to set up a factory, Zimbabwe welcomes you with open arms.listen. What this government is doing is an investor's nightmare. No investor is invest in such a country no matter the buisness. He did it with farms, now small buisness, what guarantee is there that he won't do it with big buisness? It's a misguided and primitive policy and you guys should stop spinning it. |
ROSSIKE: Even the right-wing British paper, the Telegraph, admits Zimbabwe is now BOOMING. Educate yourself:growth my foot, don't try to mislead anyone. The article said "recovery", go and check a dictionary for the word "boom". 100 billion zimbabwe dollars for three eggs are traits of a booming economy. |
ROSSIKE: What a load of rubbish. You sound like a BBC mouthpiece. FYI, the Zimbabwean economy is booming following the corrective measures taken by the govt in terms of land and resource re-distribution, and the failure of western sanctions. The blacks are no longer peasants and tenants on their ancestral land. They now have a stake in it. You should tell your white massas to go to Europe and seize all the land they want from the people there. African land belongs to Africans.zimbabwe economy is booming but their currency is so worthless it has a trillion zimbabwe dollar notes. It's now so useless that they now use the dollar, euro, pounds, etc to do transaction. Is it not ironic that they are now surviving on the currency of the western nations they rai against? Zimbabwe's economy is booming? Quit drinking that coolaid my friend. |
On a more serious note, reports like these are very inflammatory.. If they do not have good sources for all these their reports then i think they should really be sued. We can't have a foreign based media house overheating the scene at home with outrageous stories of the president. Nigerians are very impressionable and talk like this is dangerous. |
*kids singing* denzani and goodluck sitting in a tree.....K.I.S.S.I.N.G!! |
ROSSIKE: Thank you very much. Of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with what Zimbabwe is doing. She is merely protecting her national interests. The ban is only limited to minor trades. Theirs' is a no-nonsense NATIONALIST government. A govt comprising men who fought in the bush for their freedom for 25 years. Their mentality is not the same as ours where we view everyone as our brother, and are so trusting of foreigners, westerners etc. Like someone said, the Chinese had similar policies, which empowered their people. Zimbabwe is even closer to China politically than to Nigeria, yet she's also targeting the Chinese in this instance. Zimbabwe sees Nigeria as a sellout nation beholden to the west. Nigeria would say they need to be on good terms with their major oil buyers etc etc........But anyway, let's just respect their decision in this instance. The Zimbabwean govt is too Pan-Africanist in ideology to have anything personal against Nigeria.you can spin all you want. But the truth is the reason mugabe is being cozy with the chinese is because they turn a blind eye to all his corruption, high handedness, and greed. He vilianfies the west because they call him out for his corruption and other vices. Only a quack economist will rubber stamp this policy. The china you speak of today has the only range rover factory not in the u.k, it has u.s car companies, german energy companies, european telecoms companies, etc. Globalization is the only means to a dynamic economy. Anything apart from this is obvious disingeniousness. Of they want to be "super nationalist" they should go all the way like north korea. A proud and independent country so nationalist that hunger is driving parents to eat their kids. Enough said. |
POPE II: you are an illiterate and the people who liked your comment are as dumb as you . Get educated before spewing trash.i will not descend to you name calling but i will make it crystal clear to you that you are a liar. No sensible, economic viable nation has such a blatant indigenization policy. The highest nations go is affirmative action and percentage interest not handing over other people's sweat to another who has no idea the amount of work put into it, and finally i've never been to zimbabwe and frankly i have no wish to visit or do buisness in a country where the currenecy is so worthless i'll need a wheel barrow full of bank notes to buy a loaf of bread. Utterly pathetic!!! |
What is labour mp chuka umana, shadow secretary of her majesty's loyal opposition doing about this issue? Afterall it is a fellow nigerian. The guy has just moved far away from anything concerning nigeria or david cameron's immigration crackdown. Or is he afraid they will deport him too? Lol. |
African are really insecure and easily confused people. Every poster is busy blasting "foreign media" and ignoring the substance of what they are saying. Are luxury apartments and condo's the most salient things africa need now? How much do those condo's cost? What's the poverty level in angola? Who can afford it? Why can't the government direct investments or partnership to more salient areas like education, food, water, safety nets, low cost housing for the poverty stricken multitude. Blacks have just conditioned their demeanor to look upon themeselves as victims, so whenever stuff is said about you, you attack the foreign media. |
Obama is so incompetent, syria no longer has chemical weapons, obama is an amatuer, iran is slowing nuclear enrichment and will soon stop. All these without fireing a single missle or sending innocent american soildeirs to die. To all his detractors, i assure you, history will smile down on barack obama. |
These southern and eastern africans are a pathetic breed. They are so lazy and consider themselves victims of life and want to make a living on the sweat of another man. This has been happening in south africa fro a long time where farms owned by whites for generations. Farms which has been profitable and standard for hundreds of years are taken from their white owners and given to a black man. Then the farms closes down within months or a year. If zimbabwe thought their economy was a mess, this will makes it worthless. The country will soon start living on hardouts. |
The presidency should run as far away from the debacle as possible before this mudfight is exastubated. Sahara reporters is just looking for a way to increase their ratings and readership. |
Pribo: MR man EFCC only arrest those who don't know the system. We are talking about clear conscience. The looting of the state treasury was done under his nose and he never ask such garrulous questions as he is doing now. Do not be deceived. Just upgrade or you'll be ready tools in the hands of politicians like Amaechi come 2015under his nose? For christ sake he was the speaker of the house. He is not the chief executive who manages and allocates the resources of the state. Your arguement is very trivial and i think it's time to drop it. |
Pribo: Young man where and when did your microphone magician Gov'nor do that? How can he when he was part and parcel of of the looting. All those who hear and see RS only on TV, Internet and Newspaper should ask questions first.it's very easy to say that but providing evidence is another thing. Where is the evidence? Has the efcc ever indicted ameachi for corruption as speaker of the state house? Unlike odili who they have hunted to the point he has twisted the legal system with the aid of his wife to give himself permanent immunity from the law. Where is the evidence, sir? |
theoctopus: Accounted for what? You mean he accounted for the money he spent on buying a private jet? Or the money he is spending on anti-GEJ campaign?spare me that washed up analysis. And give me facts. State how ameachi has wasted rivers money. Produced figures. And by the way smart guy if ameachi's loot would have made port harcourt like lunda. Then if not for jonathan's incompetence nigeria wouid have been like the u.s or S.A! |
theoctopus: You are not a zombie? So why are you not asking questions of Amaechi? Ask him why he has abandoned rivers state and is now gallivanting around the country and beyond fighting with his shadow? Ask his from which monies he is making these attrocious trips doling out millions? Please ask him why he bought a private jet for himself with state money? Please ask him what has happened to the white elephant monorail project.first of all. Ameachi is in the rivers state gobernment house so i don't know where you got your talking points from of him galavanting. Secondly, is governour ameachi the first and only governor to own a private jet? Is the jet his property? Is it not for the subsequent governments to inherit? Meanwhile tell your bosses in abuja to release rivers state government private jet. They have to right to ground it. Secondly, the monorail project is still on. Visit p.h and see for yourself before speaking. Three stations have already been completed and rail tracks from station bus stop down to UTC junction has been laid. The grand central station which is to be located at lagos bus stop is already starting as the structures there have been demolished. |
confusion247: I think we all should be honest here and ask Amaechi to live that type of life he want to see in others. Amaechi should tell people of River State how much he have received from federal allocation from january till date and his expenditure then and only then will he stand on a moral ground to ask for such from federal government.if you were more attentive you would have heard of the wide ranging interview that he conducted on rythm: 93.7 where he accounted for every penny. |
Pribo: For those who do not know Amaechi before he became Gov'nor he was the Speaker of the RSHA for eight years under Dr Peter Odili. That government surpassed Ibori's records in financial recklessness. But Amaechi has NEVER asked Odili questions because he made him. He who must go to equity must go with clean hands.at least ameachi has openly repremanded odili for his tenue in office, which led to their fued. But that same odili is now one of jonathan's greatest supporters. He has'nt questioned his theft, rather he invites him to aso rock and even appionts his wife a supreme court justice. |
There appears to be another round of face-off between the president and some G7 governors over the recent nominations for the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and its Managing Director, by President Goodluck Jonathan. Nigerian Tribune gathered in Abuja on Thursday that the nominations for the NDDC board and its MD already forwarded to the Senate for consideration is generating furore among the aggrieved governors who are reportedly angry over the issue. Nigerian Tribune further learnt that some of the governors are angry over the inability of their nominees to make the list. Sources close to the aggrieved governors confided in the Nigerian Tribune that nominations for the NDDC board did not have the input of Governors Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and Rochas Okorocha of Imo State. It was gathered that the slot of Rivers State for the position of the Executive Director, Finance and Administration was nominated to the president by the Education Minister, Nyesom Wike, unlike in the past when Amaechi nominated Rivers State representatives for the NDDC board. On the other hand, it was learnt that pro-Jonathan governors such as Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, Liyel Imoke of Cross Rivers State, Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State and Theodore Orji of Abia State have their nominees on the list of those expected to make the NDDC board which had been submitted to the Senate for confirmation. A letter from the Presidency dated November 19 and addressed to the Senate President, Senator David Mark, requesting the confirmation of the nominees reads in part: “Subsequent to the dissolution of the Governing Board of the commission on the 13th of September, 2011, nominations for its reconstitution have been compiled in accordance with Section 2(1) of the NDDC Act as follows: Senator Bassey Ewa-Henshaw, Chairman- Cross River, Barrister Bassey Dan Abia, Managing Director-Akwa Ibom, Dr Itotenaan Henry Ogiri, Executive Director (Finance and Administration)-Rivers, Engineer Tuoyo Omatsuli, Executive Director (Projects)- Delta. Others are: Enikuomehin Benson Olorungbonju (Ondo), Ball Turofade Oyarede (Bayelsa), Ephraim Sobere Etete (Rivers), Etim Inyang Jnr (Akwa Ibom), Adah Paul Andeshi (Cross River), Tom Amioku (Delta), Samuel Okezie Nwogu (Abia), Uchegbu Chidiebere Kyrian (Imo), Major-Gen Suleiman Said (Niger, North Central), Alhaji Abdumalik Mahmud (Bauchi, North-East) and Mark Ward (oil-producing companies). A source close to the National Assembly told the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja that the last may not have been heard about the list of nominees as some of the aggrieved governors have vowed to use their senators at the upper legislative chamber against such nominations at the appropriate time. “That is not the end of the story, mind you, for a nominee to scale through at the point of screening, he or she must have the support of two out of the three senators from his or state, that is the standing rule, it has not been changed. They will meet the governors at the National Assembly, they will know that blood is ticker than water,” the source declared. http://tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/news/news-headlines/item/26887-g7-govs-aggrieved-over-nddc-board-appointment.html |
When governor ameachi said his government was ochestrating a response to the minister, i did'nt know it'll be this detailed and gut renching...listening to ameachi on rythm f.m on thursday you'll realise non of his detractors can stand him in a public debate so they hit and run. |
I agree that the claims by sahara reporters was in bad taste and ridiculous. But it is rather ironic and most amusing that the president wants to sue sahara reporters for writing ill about him but he has no problem granting sahara t.v an interview on the streets of new york to brandish his so called "transformation agenda"...you can't eat your cake and have it sir. |
awodman: Sorry this National Carrier is not owned by govt..100% private with strong support by the FGdid'nt you read in the article where it is said the government owns 60% of the new airline? |
This rubbish will go the way of all others that has come before it, the nigerian government is cursed to fail in buisness. If not for shell and other partners, nigeria LNG would have been history. Meanwhile NNPC cannot account for a majority of nigeria's share of NLNG profit. We've seen this movie before and it's not gonna end well. |
If this is a joke, it's in bad taste. Cheapshot!! |
Jonathan's people waste money, jonathan supporters say tinubu has wasted too, tinubu waste money, tinubu supporters say jonathan people have wasted too. When the country goes bankrupt, maybe then all your eyes will open. |
Why did someone wake the jonathan ass lickers from their wet dream with this news. They should have enjoyed it a while longer. |
Stupid hypocrisy...every country ally or not spy on each other. The rule is jusr don't get caught. The u.s was exposed by one weasel called edward snowden that's why germany, france and other countries are feighning fake outrage. They all do the same thing. |
Spread the word folks. Rivers state= 250 model primary and secondary schools and 150 healthcare centers and counting.
|
Why have people choosen tribalism over common sense? At this rate nigeria has a very grim future. Very grim. |
