In as mush as we all, including your good self and your people are still under the tutelage of the northerners then that war was gratuitous and a
sheer waste of valuable human resources. Ojukwu simply took a mammoth gamble to actualise his inordinate and egoistic ambition but with
other people's lives and when he lost (as was evidently clear from the onset) wasn't prepared to sacrifice his own life for what he sent millions of

ImperialYoruba: It is not a matter for them to decide. Their sole advantage is the word "Northern" in the geo-political turf.
Do you not see how reluctant they are to use NW, NC and NE as designations?
Compare with Yoruba willingness to tag everything SW, instead of West.
There is a division line in the NORTHERN designation and should be exploited going into 2019. I believe it was MayorofLagos that first introduced this...or perharps Knh that, Yoruba media must make noise and agitate against both parties giving us Muslim Northerners. He asked if the Northern Christian is a defect that he has been sidelined everytime it was North's turn to field candidate.
That line of argument will arouse an acute sense of identity in Middle Belt and make it difficult for Arewa to win the restructuring debate if it came to the floor of the assembly for vote.
The question now is where are Yoruba media to run that valid and legitimate point in circulation? i can't see any but nevertheless even though i appreciate your point with regards to NC, NW etc, the north will not easily
agree to restructuring. They would rather the whole nation implode than to loosen their firm grip on the country's jugular. |

Please somebody should solve the problem that can ordinarily be solved by planning ahead and not adding to a prophecy that must fulfill - hardship every where.
Well there is confusion every where in the world as prophesied (Luke 21:25) 25 “Also, there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and its agitation. And what style are you referring to? The fact of the matter is that Jonathan and his cronies stole the country blind whilst
chanting "na our oyel monie, na our oyel money" . Another four years of this unprecedented kleptomania exhibited by the last administration
will have seen the country sold off, for tuppence.
Jonathan just have to go but unfortunately, buhari was/is never the solution. Now, we are towing the same path again- 2019 is looking like a
two-horse race between Buhari and Atiku. Neither is the messiah we are patiently waiting for. So in essence, we are still perambulating, almost

profmiganigal: Victor Banjo was a Nigerian army officer who was alleged to have been part of the soldiers who planned the first coup of january 15th 1966. He was arrested and subsequently detained in the far east - Ikot Epkene. He continually insisted on his innocence (something the other coup plotters never did) and wrote letters to the then Head of State Ironsi demanding for his release. Victor Banjo was arrested based on suspicion of his involvement in the January 1966 coup.
Ojukwu released him from Prison and he joined the Biafran war campaign. When the Nigerian Army invaded Biafra on July 6, 1967 Ojukwu sent Banjo to invade Nigeria.
Then at Ore he plotted a coup against Ojukwu
Read his statement or letter to obasanjo
“Let them understand in the west that am not leading a Biafran army, but an army of liberation made not only of Biafrans but other ethnic groups. Make the Governor of the West and other Western leaders understand this. Urge them not to be taken in by any propaganda by the biafran government about a Biafran plan to subjugate the nation, especially the west."
This is treacherous.......
At a certain point during the war, Ojukwu felt at that time, betrayed by Victor Banjo was fighting his own war NOT Biafra war.
For the second time Banjo was arrested tried for plotting a coup the second time, was charged with treason and executed...
It is worthy of note that Victor Banjo was not killed by Ojukwu but died of his own actions of plotting a coup against two government, that lead to his arrest, charged with treason and executed. Op, abeg, don't proceed on another round of foolishness you guys are well known for.
Victor Banjo, an unashamedly pro-Akintola was never involved in the january 1966 (ibo) coup and neither was he arrested for that unfounded and illogical allegation. |

joeyfire: All this malicious, fake twisted bigoted propaganda never lasts long. Open your eyes and read well
[s]"It may well be added that it was Awolowo’s participation in Gowon’s administration that enabled him to get a copy of the Ifeajuna manuscript. A copy was sent to him by a well-wisher who thought he should know about the plans that the January 15 1966 coup makers had had in store for him. It was in similar fashion that he got a copy of the transcripts of the Enugu meeting after the tapes were said to have been captured at the fall of Enugu and the take over of the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting service by Federal Forces. Awolowo had the two documents in safe keeping when I became his Private (Political) Secretary in June 1978."
"Of interest is that in spite of the famed unreliability of Ifeajuna, none of the narratives written about the Nigerian crisis by the principal protagonists Alexander Madiebo, Ademoyega, Ben Ghulie, and Hilary Njoku have differed in any substantial sense apart from turns of phrases, from the core of what Ifeajuna wrote in the white hot heat of the moment that followed the coup. The contentious issue over their choice of Awolowo has been repeated by the participants in the core group that set out to change the government before they were overtaken by Ironsi, and the echelon that surrounded Ojukwu in Kano who would not allow Nzeogwu to make use of troops in that city to march on Lagos as he had planned to do after he discovered that the coup was botched in the South."

Ovamboland: The most potent evidence was that the coupist in Zimbabwe was in touch with the ousted vp and when Mugabe refused to quit the vp was reported to be on his way back home from exile.
How can the January 15 group have such a major plan and not hint their would be principal? What If he refused to have anything to do with them? In the execution of the coup and for the short time they controlled the country no group was sent to open negotiations with Awolowo in prison or release him from jail.
They made it clear in their speech that all the politicians were bad
After all fell apart one of the wanted guys suddenly remembered Awolowo and how some sympathy can be bought by associating with his name.
Some one mentioned Awolowo rivals to be Akintola and Balewa's, what of Zik, Okpara and Osadebe, are they Awolowo allies, yet they were spared @ bolded.............abi o jare!!! I guess they were Awo's bosom pals (Ore kori ko sun)
These folks are so mischevious, it's unbelievable. Very soon, they will start telling us that the january coupists were in collaboration with Awo whilst he was incarcerated in calabar prison.
It's also instructive to note that for the brief period Nzegeow held sway in the north and was threatening to march down south and displace Ironsi, he did not at any time mention anything about Awo or the fact that they aim to release him from jail and make him the next Prime minister. |
