Faith063: I thought of it too but not sure of its implication on long term plans as international student I dont think so, it wont affect your OPT and I dont think it would come up during any H1B application or employment visa. you are in financial straits, you did not expect to be in this position, and you said you have 5 days. Unless there are other options in your locality where someone can loan you cash |

No one should put themselves under emotional pressure |

SO FROM YOU & other posters comments, i would need to retrieve my luggage myself..from ethiopian airlines and recheck them in to united airlines, meanwhile atl poe will screen me, and there wont be any further screening when we arrive at houston Yes no other screening in Houston. CBP can take anytime they want o. If there are a lot of people coming in you'll wait. I don't know if your airline checked you in all the way to Houston. Because you'll collect your bags and recheck in for Houston flight. Just bare that in mind. |

aestake: They couriered to his brother who lived in Lagos and now in the US with same category but different interview dates. So the package was turned in, because his brother can't do otherwise and a little print-out of how to know when the passports are back or sth was given. CEAC has nothing to indicate issuance, you just see file was last seen.... The site will show issued if it has been issued |

aestake: Thank you. On the interview day, the consular interviewer told my acquaintance to get them the petitioner's wife AOS and mailed it alongside the passports. This was done via OIS lagos (After Embassy told them to mail from Abuja, OIS Abuja rejected and the package was DHLed to a person in Lagos who submitted). No proof from OIS Lagos that it received this package (not good from this third party and Embassy).
Now we do not know where the 5 passports are. US Embassy is behaving like a 3rd world place, no access to them, no modernization of services. Wait so do they even know if their passports were delivered to OIS i. Lagos? OIS should have given them something or registered the drop off. Have they checked on CEAC site if the visas was even issued? You didnt answer that question Lastly let them folow the Visa Navigator and the instructions there. They receive tons of emails so those emails are grouped properly of ypu follow those instructions. Its when its grouped that someone will attend ed to it. |

Have they gone to OIS to see if their passports are there? They would need to book an appointment on OIS site for pick up if they have confirmed their passports have been issued Have the visas been issued ?
Did they send email to lagosiv@state.gov When they do get the automated response they need to follow PROMPTS in the automated response so that their mail can be seen. |

Gerrard59: That is the core reason many won't marry foreign women: while the Nigerian male is building his life in a new land, the foreign lady has already built hers. Whether she is of the same race as the man, but was born and bred there. So she has been assimilated into the society. Cultural differences and how both see life. Small small chats and how they respond afterwards. Honestly, the way these lads yap on Twitter about how easy it is to marry a foreign woman as an immigrant amazes me. Inter-racial marriages aren't that plentiful to mention in the first place.
As for the BBC, I don't think that holds in places with a substantial population of black people. The average Western European lady shouldn't be fazed about a black man's preek any more.
Yes. That one is certain, including in Nigeria and for different reasons. We should expect a cultural norm where people don't eventually get married or have children at all. Even if they do, they have just one - this will become more common in Nigeria since it is already common in the abroad. It is a global phenomenon.
30 is too early. She should also try harder and reach out to friends/family from Nigeria. I know it is not easy. Another thing with marriage should be whether both parties are keen on settling in a particular location for a long time, as marriage restricts mobility to an extent.
The most beautiful Nigerian women are in Nigeria. And for academic reasons, I think this is also due to your "earning power". I am not saying or insinuating that you didn't earn well or you earned poorly before relocating, but the £ has enabled you to broaden the places you visit so you get to meet more people at various places. Actually 30 is a good age to freeze eggs Egg reserve starts to drop from puberty and a more significant drop is typically from 35yrs till menopause which can be up to 60s. |

whiteMandingo: MY PROPOSED ethiopian airlines itinerary is lagos-addis--atlanta (plane change) --houston, so my question is, heard atlanta POE is usually tough and time consuming, would we go through the famous POE/IMMIGRATION at atlanta...since we would be changing planes to united airlines there.....or we would do that at our destination in houston Your POE is the first port you land in the US, so Atlanta. Hope your layover has enough time in case immigration takes awhile. What exactly are you concerned about with immigration at Atlanta |

Faith063: Heard turbotax is for citizen and could file my tax wrongly Have you tried any of the IRS free e-filing companies I've used Free tax and 1040.com On IRS site you'll see a list and select which you prefer. I didn't pay for either of them. I tried both of them. I currently use 1040.com because it still doesn't charge for state returns. I was not asked for citizenship information from either. As a student you should have ssn which is what was asked for If springtax said you owe and also said you have a refund then it might be based on what you filed as and if you selected itemized or standard deduction or if you had a jump income from previous year. Sha don't owe IRS as an employee. It's employers that can get away with that |

UnconventionalT: Anyone who is familiar with Nigerian immigration should kindly help. My baby used a visa on arrival to enter Nigeria around a year ago and he was given 30days on the visa to stay in Nigeria, or I could apply for his Nigerian passport on time whilst still around. The issue is that, I haven't applied. This is due to name changes I still want to do once I return back to Canada. I don't want his Nigerian passport to carry the current name he has on his Canadian passport and I don't want to go through the stress of changing his name on NIN, Nigerian passport etc in Ottawa when we finally go back.
Will I have issues traveling back with him to Canada, considering he has overstayed his visa? Probably better you do his passport and NIN in Nigeria |

She doesnt need a nigerian birth certificate for NIN. But why do you want to get her a nigerian passport in the US though? Go to nigerian immigration services (NIS) and click on apply outside Nigeria follow the instructions - there should be links there on where to apply for NIN int he US |

Are people still paying bribes to do Ngn passport Have you looked at the thread on Nairaland on passport application DIY? For context I have done mine and done my parents twice. Didn't pay nada neither did I use anyone. All passports collected between 2weeks and 6weeks. All done in Lagos. If anyone's Passport is still not received ( unless there is data differences in NIN etc) you can flag it on twitter. NIS has a twitter handle |

The Nigerians around the embassy that I'm referring to are the ones outside the embassy, those ones doing printing passport etc. Your document review would be done inside the embassy by consular staff. The consular officer at Lagos told me at the end of the interview that it'd be ready for pickup in a week (which means today); but I didn't get a tracking ID, and upon visitation to the DHL office, I was told that they do not have it yet.
Note that I'm a returning student and my flight is scheduled for Feb 1, but looks like I'd have to cancel the flight, or at best, change the date, but I don't even know what timeline to work with. Isnt collection at OIS? |

Lastly, if my petitioner send her tax papers in a pdf format through email to me; do they qualify as original documents when I print them out? Or do they have to use courier service to send the hard copies of the documents to me? Foolish questions, I know 😂😂 but I have to dot all my Is and cross my Ts like you said. 2023, and you can print from email then just the police clearance, birth cert . Thanks a lot for your reply. More like State ID go to DMV you can use thst since you font have drivers license.
