Ndi MODS, plz consider this thread for FP:

https://www.nairaland.com/1166979/strategic-nnpc-benin-depot-finally

Its not just about the process of returning the many depots we have in the country back to functionality, but also the remarkable change in NPDC from its miserable past to the 5th largest oil cop in Nigeria as well as the completion of the critical Oredo gas project that would be very useful in firing up the new 450MW Ihovbor/Benin Power plant. Some great developments Really....

Thanks

Afam4eva: What's it with Nigerians and hypocrisy...

On that list are former members of PDP and people who have contunually joined the bandwagon of thieves to plunder our resources. I guess the ACN supporters won't bat an eye lid because they're now working for ACN.

PDP is evil, ACN is evil, CPC is evil.
They are ALL d same (or rather, almost d same). Howeva, d hope is dat Real political competition and continuous push up of Standards esp unda pressure by d society (and electorates) wud weed out d 'bad' ones or their tedencies in these parties ova time..

take dat: Its normal to question the veracity of this information but since the president has a media crew that accompanies him including journalists from media houses perceived to be critics of the government, it is possible he made the statement and some chose to disseminate it while those in the good books of government ignored it.
Well, you may be right there; i see d possibility now. But i fail to see d overall significance of any oda questn he wud hv askd even IF it is true..

0lumide: The presidential media made the police college news popular in the first place!!

Let's start with Nairaland and make another decay in government popular and see whether GEJ will reply.

Please who is in Nigeria? Let us do something. Let us protest!!!

We want what we want! This government is cheating us. Over a week ago, they told us a power plant will begin operation within a week. The power plant hasn't started generating even pollution talk less of mega wattts!!
Come u , dont spew nonsense ova what u know nada about esp if it is Power relatd. The newly built 434MW Geregu II power plant was successfully alignd to d national grid last saturday with an initial output of 10MW, and ff standard professional procedure wud be graduali increasd to 143MW of its entire 1st unit b4 d end of dis week; d oda unit wud also be graduali alignd in a month and d last unit b4 d end of march, giving d entire 434MW baring substaind gas supplies of course... awodman: The ongoing effort by the GEJ led government to open up the closed depots owned by NNPC so as to make petroleum products available has recorded another success with the opening of the Benin depot. Also at the occasion the petroleum minister said that state owned NPDC has become the largest supplier of gas in the domestic market hence boosting efforts in the gas-to-power initiative.
Speaking at the occassion,Edo state governor Adams oshimole commended the federal government for rehabilitating and opening the depot after long years of closure.
On his part, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State
commended President Jonathan for reactivating the depot,
saying without the president’s intervention, it would not
have been possible.
“We commend the leadership of the president for giving
the support and providing the resources and political
leadership without which today would not have been a
reality,” he noted.
The president, according to him, “has demonstrated with
the way this facility has been restored that we don’t need
to wallow in lamentation and that we can find courage to
provide leadership to drive changes that are necessary for
us to invent those things that we had before that have
disappeared.”

Woo!! Just read d link now. NPDC now d largest domestic supplier of natural gas and the 5th largest Oil company in Nigeria?? The same NPDC that was almost a joke sm 5 yrs ago? .... And the NPDC Oredo gas field and plant project finali complete? Meaning there's high hope that d newly almost completd 450MW Ihovor/Benin power plant wud hv sufficient gas supply to fire it later dis yr when it goes on stream. Really GREAT news...

engrfcuksmtin: Ore depot is not working yet.
You are right. It is Mosimi. Ore is still in line.
Politics › Re: Strategic Nnpc Benin Depot Finally Reopened by taharqa:
By d way, dis is d 3rd or 4th depot and pipeline system brought back to live afta sm yrs (even decades for sm of dem) of bn moribud in d last yr or so. Aba and Ore and i tink Mosimi hv already bn brought back to life. Jos and Gombe are almost finishd and odas esp up north wud soon follow. Kudos to PPMC.

GEJ is clearing away d mess/years dat d kankaworm and catapilla hv eaten, d headiwork (or is it, 'no work') of past leadas SLOWLY and SILENTLY. He is fixing d power sector finali; resuscitating dilapilitatd rail tracks and building new ones; remodeling rotten airports 11 of dem at a time in one yr, 11 oda ones and 5 new terminals to start dis yr; building new river ports along d Niger (1 already complete and d oda 3 almost complete) and dredging d river as well as Benue; repairing sm abandond roads like Benin-Ore, Abuja-Lokoja, Onitsha-Owerri, Enugu-PH, Kano-Maiduguri, Ibadan-Lagos, East-West etc - though a lot of work still needs doing on roads; providing free/subsidizd fertilizers and seeds that get to d real farmers unlike what obtains previously ;providing educational opportunities for MILLIONS of Almajiris in d north FOR THE 1ST TIME even if most oda presidents were from d north without doing anything, 87 new model day and boarding schools hv already bn completd in 9 months while 9 new universities hv bn built; better electoral climate and a more transparent environment (FOI et al) also bn institutd, etc etc.

I pray that this trend continues as well as oda many inadequacies solvd overtime....
Politics › Re: Buhari Intended To Stabilize Electric Power By 2019! by taharqa: 5:57pm On Jan 18, 2013
Stop your lies, Yar'dua government generated over 4,300MW which led to the collapse of the national grid. If my maths serve me right, twice of 4,300 is 8,600MW. So now you claim GEJ has generated 8,000MW?

We can't all be fooled you know.
Actuali, Yar'adua generatd about 3800MW high and we fooolishes tried pushing all of dem to d national grid which almost immediately led in less than 2 days to almost total collapse of d System cos of very inadequate Transmissn and Distributn facilities to less than 1500MW for sm months. The power startd increasing very unsteadly much later to a little less than 2000MW or less than 2500MW or less than 2800MW which GEJ MET (we rili cant tell d exact amount cos it was very unstable then); now GEJ hv bn able to put a high of a little above 4500MW power to a much beta transmissn grids for months without any elongatd total systems crash like wat happend b4. This is roughly double d MWs he MET when he came in.... Any oda tin?
