texazzpete: FG has been spending 'X naira' per litre on fuel subsidiesOK. So where was d FG getting d #X it was spending for the Subsidy initiali, even b4 it started 'saving' d extra #32 when it partially removed d subsidy?? The Oil marketers? Surely, according to you, it cud not have been from any of Govt's Accounts/Funds, since Govt cud not now be paying d #32 differential from one of its Accounts (ie ECA) cos it promised to 'save' that differential as SURE-P (again, according to you)? Right?? |
Orlando Owoh: You're as clueless as your paymaster. We're waiting for 2015 to see if he is going dodge debate to appear before that of Dbanj. He didn't even know the meaning of job security.OLODO, answer my question: were d Oil marketers paying d FG, such that d FG cud now 'save' d extra #32 it 'has made' from d Partial removal of subsidy??... Answer d questn. Save d semantics for those who care |
texazzpete: Well, first you must render an account of what you have done with the education you've received so far. I mean, I cannot believe the inanity of your response. The outstanding question YOU should be asking (as that affects all 160+ million Nigerians, not just the people of Rivers State) is why the ECA monies are being used to fund the SURE-P program.Another OLODO.... So the FG was receiving money from smwhere (from d Oil marketers perhaps?) that it wud then 'save' parts of it as 'partial savings' for SURE-P??..... IGNORAMUS |
Orlando Owoh: Why should SURE-P be funded with ECA? What happened to the about 30 naira realized from every litre of PMS since the increase in pump price to 97 naira, that we were told would be used to fund SURE-P? Can we then say the Senate was right when it claimed the NNPC could not make it, which now stands at 500 billion, available?OLODO, when did d FG 'realise' #30 from every litre of petrol? So yr small head think that it was d Oil marketers that were paying the Govt? ... OLODO |

nuclearboy: The man is in court! He is being tried! Investigation has been done with the full acceptance of ALL Nigerians including his own people and after police investigated, the courts are NOW investigating! Let him be found guilty first and see if anyone will say "leave him because he's yoruba"HYPOCRITE!! |
ballabriggs: I'm sure you have a brain, so use it. Did Punch argue with you diddums that waivers are not economic tools? No, what Punch argues is the abuse that characterises the waiver regime in Nigeria as it has been used to evade revenue due to the treasury. That is the crux of Punch's argument. No, OLODO. Get the Punch Editorial and read. The ONLY real accusation Punch made in respect of this new Sector-wide Waiver System was actuali the #603billion Revenue lost due to the policy. The Editorial DID NOT MENTION A SINGLE CASE OF CORRUPTION OR ABUSE RELATING TO THIS NEW SYSTEM. Let me repeat: Punch did not mention A SINGLE case of corruption associated with this new System. Go and read d article again, if you hv actuali even read it, that is. The Cases or Examples of Abuses Punch gave in the Editorial were solely those from 2003-2011 ie BEFORE this new System was introduced by NOI!! How d helll do you criticize a particular System by rehearsing Examples of d abuses of d previous System, esp when the whole purpose of d new System (the very reason we all shouted at d Govt to introduce it) was to eliminate, or rather reduce, d Incidences of the Abuses of d Previous System?? How the hell does that happen if it was not a deliberately attempt to mix up stuffs in order to hookwick d many gullible people that unfortunately abode in today's Nigeria? What is it if not a Piece of Propaganda; an Hacket job to sway Weak minds?? The Editorial even went afar as giving Examples of Abuses in d EEG Scheme; a Scheme that is very diff from the new Waiver Scheme they were suppossedly criticizing! And what is worst, d Examples given were also pre-2012. Punch also conveniently 'forgot' to mention that this same EEG that has been abused all along for years was even recently suspended by this same Govt in order to try to 'clean it up', yet Punch used Examples that happened years ago under the scheme to criticize a new, diff Scheme!! Does that seem fair to you? Do you chaps even hv Consciences any more?? And to think that d Sector-based Waiver Policy has even started yielding positive results: Nigeria's Non-Oil Export for the 1st 3months of this year was almost $3billion (over #300billion), which is almost same amount d country exported for the entire year sm few years ago; similarly, Nigeria's Import bill last year reduced by over #800billion!! Sectors such as Power, Aviation, Cassava, Cement, Oil palm/Vegetable Oil, Sugar, Rice, Mining, Telecoms, sm Manufacturing, are particularly benefiting from it already. Of course, Punch also conveniently left that out..... I HATE HYPOCRISY with every thing I got. And Lies; and Halftruths; and Distortions; and utter Desperation. In fact, I spiit on yaall. Ya Guts DISGUST me. I can't even properly convey how I reali feel at times at the Shenanigans of it all. |
Tadon200: what's dis one saying ,it is the abuse of this waivers not misappropriation or what are you trying to sayI thought I asked you to SHUT ya mouth UP?? |
awodman: Looking at the years involved...did the alleged infractions occur under Okonjo's watch?Good.... You even saw that too!! Smtimes when I look at 'these' people and their desperation, I just *smh* in jest |
HNosegbe: I decided to read the editorial in question for myself, and I came across an interesting part.He did not address it cos that was d situation of d Individual-based Waiver Scheme that was replaced last year or so by this Admin. Did you check d dates of Egs of abuses that was given in that article: 2007-2011. Those were exactly d reason the new Sector-based Approach was introduced. People shld not deceitfully or ignorantly mix things up cos a point must be scored.... By d way, d EEG (Export Expansion Grant) Scheme is a diff policy to this Waiver policy. Are you aware that this Govt, thru d Minister for Trade and Industry, had to suspend the EEG scheme for sm time in order to 'clean it' up from d abuses it was subject to, in same way they changed d former Corruption-laden and fiscally disruptive Individual-based Waiver Scheme to d current, more robust Sector-wide one? Am not sure the EEG is even fully up and running again... Again, people shld not mix things up cos they want to score a point. That was the summary of what Punch did with that Editorial; don't repeat it here again abeg |
Tadon200: So they should not criticize the minister anymore ,the question raised was the misappropriation of funds through waiver ,something she was against during obansanjo era and now she is fully in support of this. i don't get it. and FYI mrs Okonjo that's what the press do ,they'Misappropiation of Funds'?? With Waivers? Which article(s) did you read? Do you even know what Waivers mean? Plz, Keep yr Mouth SHUT, abeg. Everybody must not comment... |
vedaxcool: Madam learn to address the issues rather than cry persecution! Many of you CLOWNS hv truly gone blind, no bi joke!! Did you read d OP at all? Or, you lent yr brain out temporily to another morön while reading it?... Plz, read it again. This time, with d yr brain ON. Maybe, just maybe, you wud get d 'issues'. Won't bet on it though.... |
take dat: and you expect me to take you seriously above the editorial team of Punch when I know your duty is always to defend all that is good and bad in Government? Isn't this how you folks always try to demonize anyone who critic the Government of GEJ? I am sure you do not have basic comprehension problems, go back to re-read the said editorial. Punch editorial is about dubious waivers and the amount Nigeria is losing to that. Are you telling me that the scheme is 100% corruption-proof? The questions NOI should answer instead of this manufactured hogwash are;@take dat, plz Keep SHUT and use that brain of yrs, abeg. Am very sure you are d one with d Comprehension problem this morning. Go and re-read NOI rebuttal in d OP. It is as clear as it gets. And I know you to be smart, so if you just wore off that Bias Spectacle blocking yr vision, you wud hv no problems with understanding what she wrote. For instance, she never argued that Revenue was not been lost cos of d Policy. In fact, she pointed out that d temporary Revenue lost was necessary in order to protect local industries and ensure long term Industrial development in-country. She specifically reminded us that EVERY damn country that ever developed went tru this same path we are presently taking. So still asking me if I thought there were no Revenue lost cos of d policy, is simply Sillly...... Another Sillly question was whether I thought there was no corruption in the new System. That is like asking me if I thought there is no corruption in the Customs!! For God's sake, that there are possibilities/cases of corruption with a System same as meaning that that entire System is 'corrupt and fiscally indiscipline'?? Weren't we the same Nigerians who vehemently condemned the former System where Presidents OBJ, Yar'adua and even d 1st year of GEJ, gave indiscriminate Waivers to Individuals (like Dangote, Jimoh Ibrahim, )? Didn't we say that instead of giving Waivers to only a select few with perhaps political connections and placing them at an undue advantage over other players in their sector, we rightly asked d Govt to give those waivers to everybody in a particular sector if it decides to give them at all? Didn't we say instead of giving Dangote Waivers to import cement, give industry-stimulating Waivers to EVERY player in d Cement value chain? Instead of giving Waivers to sm nameless Malaysian Cop and their Nigerian Collaborators to flood our market with cheap palm oil, give industry-stimulating Waivers (eg equipment related) to Every player in our own Palm Oil Value chain? Etc, etc? Now we hv what we asked for, yet we still display that our particularly 'famed' brand of fooolishness!! What d helll is actuali wrong with us as Nigerians? Why are we always such annoying and aimless NOISEMAKERS? ..... @take dat, you should be lucky that I hv sm regard for you, else I wud hv so descended on you HARD this morning. You shld know by now that I don't tolerate Fooolishness. Have a Nice Day |
Nairaland has truly gone to d Dogs. It is so painful to finali admit it to myself cos we loved this place!! The bias and partisanship of Seun and other Administrators can no longa be in doubt. And they DISGUST me... This is d 1st time I hv openly agreed and said this here. Yet again, another thread WITH DOCUMENTARY VIDEO EVIDENCE OF ACTUAL CONFESSIONS of an Electoral Malfeasance is left to rot in d Politics and wud not see d Frontpage only cos it is supposedly against d 'wrong' person. That is how an unofficial no-frontpage ban was placed on EVERY thread that talked about d very Clear FRAUD that was d LekkiEpe Expressway 'buy-back', even when the info came directly from LASG Officials. Again, they were against d 'wrong' persons. There are 2 threads currently in this Section that wud NOT see frontpage cos yet again, 'wrong' people are involved. When it is against Or even just seem against d 'correct' people, it is rush with alarity to d Frontpage without much ado..... Una weldone. Oga Seun weldone. Since you hv decided to WATCH yr forum destroyed by ya new path (whether by intent Or just carelessness/inability to supervise), sm of us wud help you move further in this new path of yrs |
Where d HYPOCRITES dem dey?? Almost 200 views, no talk. Abi, una don finali DUMB?... Na laugh we dey.. |
By d way, Punch has since been bought over by d Master Thief himself, Tinubu, and it is no surprise it must now bark to the call of its new masters. The Punch of yteryears, that Newspaper that was my personal NO 1 choice and those of so many persons, cos of its famed Sense of Balance, is long dead and buried. What is left is only a dim shadow of that wonderful past; and even that dims everyday.. Their former Editorial chair must be turning in his graves right now |
take dat: Hogwash! NOI is incapable of ever accepting her little failings and intolerant of receiving knocks from analysts or criticism from the media. Punch's editorial was premised on the submission of the Comptroller General of Customs.@take dat, don't act DUMB cos you are trying hard to push a lame point across, abeg. You are usuali better than this... The quote you just gave only indicated that d Customs Boss was angry over the lost of revenue that it collects, just as NOI said in this rebuttal, not that d Scheme has made 'corruption and fiscal indiscipline to sink to abysmal levels'. That part was the lame addition of d now 'bought' Punch Editorial team, and not those of d Customs Boss. It is deceitful to pass both parts as ideas of d Customs Boss when a part of it came from Punch Board. Very deceitful. Moreova, NOI grust with d Editorial was not d criticism that some Collectible Revenues were been lost (infact, she clearly made d point about perpetual economic 'contest' between the choice of Short-term Revenue lost and Long-term Industrial development for a developing nation); her grust was with d Editorial team's blanket dismissal of d new Sector-specific Waiver approach as 'corrupt and fiscally indiscipline'... And one has got to wonder: which of d two approaches (Sector-specific Or Individual-specific) reduces or increases the chances of Corruption, Fiscal Indiscipline and Political patronage?? Its common sense; but then again, how common is sense in today's Politically-corrupt Nigeria?? |
I watched thel ITV 7:30 Main News here in Benin today, and the Publicity Secretary of APC in response to the video and a report by ITV , simly asked the PDP to 'proof if the Office was in Govt house'!!! That was it.... Don't know if it was some kinda defence by the Pub Sec; but if it was, then it would be one of the Lamest I ever heard |
Some leaders of the car dealers association told Daily Trust in Gusau that the state governor’s younger brother, Jafaru Yari, contacted them to supply over 1000 vehicles about 10 months ago. The supply was made under the supervision of Jafaru who has not facilitated payment till now.Even the money for the unbelievably Extravangant and Illegal (it is illegal to use Tax payers money to buy cars for party members in order to buy political patronage, even if those party members na 'Progressives' ) don grow wings, fly away. The Brother of the 'Progressive' Gov na im do the magic. Original Government Magic .Oya, all those emergency 'Anti-Corruption' Activists, here on NL or anywhere, over to yaall. Abeg, join me as we fight corruption. Yes We Can ![]() #onenigeria |

Toktee: Ur oldman too read the news,so what is his name? What is the name of that new Drug you are using, guy?? Plz, check the composition of the Active Ingredients, and get ready to sue the 'doctor' who prescribed it for irreparable brain damage.. You may thank me later. |
Another 'News' item for the next one week for the dogs.... GSS (Get Strong Soon, Mr President). Amen. |
PhenomenonVFX: Before I joined Nairaland, I was an anti-PDP leaning "neutral" observer. But since I joined Nairaland, I have become a pro-GEJ-anti-PDP "neutral" commentator.I could be the one saying this...... Almost exactly my experience.. |
This is an FG's project, not that of Anambra State (strictly speaking). And this is a Transmission substation (with Associated Transmission Lines), not a Distribution substation. It is one of the ongoing commissioning of complted NIPP Project (Generation, Transmission, Distribution) nationwide. NIPP commissioned 7 of of such projects in Lagos about a week ago (b4 then they were at Jos and Ibadan) http://www.zimbio.com/Nigeria+Today/articles/NzATHpLW2IG/Ndphc+Commissions+Seven+Projects+Lagos. They moved to Anambra, and I think Enugu, after that. And yesterday, they commissioned another 7 of such Projects in Kano http://naija247news.com/2013/11/20/ndphc-hands-7-injection-substations-kano-electricity-distribution-company/#sthash.LDPBXGOT.dpbs. I read somewhere that they intend to inaugurate about 100 of such Power Projects across the nation before year end, including the EXTREMELY CRITICAL Ikot Ekpene-New Haven Enugu-Markudi-Jos 4 to 8 phase Transmission Line. Some of the 8 Remaining Power Generating Stations should also be commissioned by the President himself b4 year end. As the MD of NPDCH/NIPP recently said: It is Commissioning Galore. |
I just saw this Article on DailyIndependent right now: Edo State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday alleged that it has uncovered plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government of Adams Oshiomhole to subvert justice in its planned suit against the result of the Esan North East local government election.@bold3 (in red): Just imagine the response of the Edo State/ACN Govt, through its Commissioner for Information, in the face of this astounding and highly damaging Accusation: ..'go to the Film Sensors Board to tell the world the category of their film, either for old people, 80-year-old godfather or younger people...' . That is all!! All pretenses off!!! @bold1 (in black): 11 members of DSIEC (ie Edo State's supposedly 'Independent' Electoral body) sat with ACN party members, including the Rigged-in Esan NE LGA 'Chairman', in a meeting to plot how they can subvert justice AGAIN in the Electoral Tribunal after rigging out the Defenders anytime they approach the Tribunal. And this meeting took place in the Office of the SSA (Special Duties Office), Government House, Edo State!!! I just dey laugh...that's the 'only' thing I can think of doing right now |
^^^^ I am still waiting for you to tell us how you have been 'using the railways Daily for the last 13 years'.... |
Realdeals: I actually stay close to the railway line and has been employing it as a means of transport daily for the past 13 yrs, so when i tell you about railway services in Nigeria just accept it that way.Reali?? |
efe22: Hmm Oshiomole cum others APC again. Those who said this man is their messiah should have their brain checked. His noise making as usual will be released consequently. Nigeria will get there may be few years from now but will the very few sensible Nigerians employing technology to expose these evil leaders there is hope for this country. I know say na money things wen them no share well cause dis one. Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders they have.Oshio Baba is a BIG Disappointment in this mata. He is the one always shouting 'one man, one vote'; he is himself a victim of Election rigging and the people of Edo State (including myself) stood by him all through that struggle to retrieve his mandate- the mandate that we gave him. See what he is doing now?? I just HATE HYPOCRISY; and those people who 'practice' it DISGUST me |
Oh!! Didn't even know that a thread on this had been opened already. @OP, you beat me to it ![]() Meanwhile, just 3 days ago: The Minister of Transport, Sen.
