Richiy: Imagine that your boyfriend/fiance/husband that you trusted so much went behind ur bk and cheated. You found out and 'went on strike'. After he 'repented', and brought his folks for negotiations, would you just jump into his arms? Wont you make very sure, ie if you want him bk, that what hapnd b4 would'nt happen again? You would check every line and angle b4 making you decision ryt? That is the exact thing ASUU is trying to do. Once bitten, twice shy.
My frnd, go back to d Romance Section and give such Sentimental nonsense as Egs there... Do you know what ASUU want at the moment? Cos that is actuali the main problem here. When last did you see or hear from Dr Faggie Or any of d top officials of National ASUU? ....If you know what they reali want plz tell us, so we can know what exactly we wud hold d Govt on?
Politics › Re: FG Directs Federal Universities To Re-Open Immediately by taharqa:
addictiv: Then getting the AG to sign is now a problem. The office of Permanent Secretary should not even be recognized in this matter.. cos the agreement can be rendered null and void if he is retired.
Oh! So you think that d Only problem is just cos d Attorney-General didn't sign d letter?? You don't seem to get that comment: the Problem here is d ULTRA-SECRETIVE nature of ASUU with respect to ending dis strike. No one knows what the want at any given point in time. That's d problem; at least for me....
Politics › Re: FG Directs Federal Universities To Re-Open Immediately by taharqa: 1:40pm On Nov 28, 2013
Tadon200: if any student should support FG that person is daft. After jona met with ASUU and thrashed the whole issue out ,they went back did their meeting and presented their demand ,why can't he sign it and put it in paper.
You don't expect ASUU to take his word for it and still go back to this same problem next year.
FG CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.
Who told you it has not been 'signed'?? The Agreement reached with d President has already been sent, and signd by d Permanent Secretary, Min of Education. ASUU is howeva just insisting that it shld be signd by d Attorney-General of d Federation. I read this in one of d Papers this morning. OR wait, you are want/expected d President himself to sign an agreement?.... I am not even sure they are signing another MOU altogether; the problem is that ASUU is astonishingly hoarding Info on d process, such that most people don't even know what they want again. Their NEC meeting in Kano for instance, was held under an ultra-secret place and environment, such that NO single Newspaper still know what reali went on in that meeting, except from crumbs of Info from 'Anonymous Sources'!! Want is ASUU reali up to? Want do they reali want, now ie what are their current demands? Why all d Secrecy and Shenanigans??

Arobam: Mr Man, How come you know more than 60 percent of the striking lecturers who voted nationwide for the strike to end?
Your s.tupidity on this platform is grossly underestimated. If you can spare some time to use those brains in your skull, you would come to realise that you have been spewing rubbish.

At no time has FG refused to stick with its latest agreement with ASUU. the bone of contention is that Fagge has refused to heed to the call of majority of his fellow lecturers to call off a strike but is still insisting on a 2009 agreement that ihe knows FG cannot implement.
That is an Understatement, Bros... For those of us who 'know' @Demdem, we hv already 'given up'. Na Lost Case be dat...

hillsate: Any student here that is applauding the FG for ordering ASUU back to class is either a teenager who is still in 100level and does not really understand whats happening in the education sector or is simply da.ft.

What are you praising the FG for? for not honouring a five year old agreement or for simply displaying stupidity.
If the FG was truly sincere there wouldnt have been need to threaten ASUU with sack over resumption. The FG spent 500 million naira just for a birthday for Patience Jonathan a venture that only lasts about 5 hours yet says there is no money to invest in the future of her country via education. Where did the money lavishly used on African first ladies come from when they visited Nigeria?
Stella was able to siphon over 255 million naira without the FG knowing until a whistle blower came forth. Where did the money come from?
Tompolo and rest militants are multi billionaires now courtesy of GEJ's FG yet FG says no money for education.Do you know Tompolo has a private jet?
Do you how much GEJ spends when on international trips with his retinue of aides for albeit useless meetings and conferences? yet no money for education.
We just heard that over 500 billion of SURE-P funds is missing. Do you know what 500 billion can do to the education sector? How can 500 billion miss?

They only say there is no money as long as it is a venture that does not allow siphoning of public funds and education is a classical example.

It is stupi.d of any Nigerian student being on the FG's side as long as education is concerned. Keep praising FG when all their kids are abroad schooling.

Sincere 9gerian: Enugu-Onitsha road is bad news. I wonder what is happening because it is one of the roads covered by SURE-P.
That is d only physical project been undataking by SURE-P that is not moving at d speed of others (eg Benin-Ore Rd, Abuja-Lokoja Rd, East-West Rd, Kano-Maiduguri Rd, Lagos-Kano Railway, PH-Enugu-Maiduguri Railway, etc). I watched a member of d SURE-P committee on NTA few months back, saying that d delays in d Onitsha-Enugu Rd was cos of what I think he called 'Contracting Complication' with d Rd, forcing SURE-P to cancel payments until d Fed Min of Works sorts it out... Bash92: I dont like agreeing with the APC guys on politics issue but he raised good questions
He is NOT making any points, my Bruda. Its like you don't know him. He is a Bladdi HYPOCRITE; an HYPOCRITE of d highest..... Just over a year ago, this same Clown, @Gbawe, told us here that this same Power Privatisation he is now trying to comment on wud Not happen. He also said that Manitoba would Not take ova TCN. He was Categorical. He didn't use d word 'may not', but 'will not'. I remember requoting him and asking him how he cud hv bn so sure, and his response was same: Power Privatisation WOULD NOT happen. According to him, GEJ is 'incapable' of overseeing and bringing to conclusion such a complex process; GEJ and his Govt was 'clueless', 'corrupt', 'weak', 'mediocre', 'clannish', etc, etc- there was no single of his many adjectives he didn't used to describe d Govt, insisting that d Privatisation process if it went ahead at all, wud be so front with corruption and litigations that d process wud not complete. TODAY, this same Privatisation process- the largest and by far, d most complex in Africa and one of d largest in d world- has since concluded SUCCESSFULLY. And it was a Transparent and Open process, with just a SINGLE litigation from d ova 200 Investors that took part in d process!!!..... Of course, @Gbawe completely disappeared when it became clear that d process was coming to such a Successful end. I know this cos I hv been waiting for him. Then, all of a 'sudden' immediately he hears of one of d new owners complaining about an already announced 1 week dip in Generation due to gas pipeline problems and just a mere 3 weeks after handover, he reappears and like a possessed Dog, pouts over d news, writing one of those long meaningless Epistles of his and speaking thrash. And you expected me to be clapping for him?? Is he not Ashamed? Him no get any shame, at that his Old age? If he is not Ashamed, some of us dey Shame for am small small. #BladdiHYPOCRITE...

Politics › Re: How Diezani Alison-madueke Plans To Sell Refineries To Fronts by taharqa: 8:39pm On Nov 27, 2013
take dat: What a fo0lish post. You see no wrong in handing out our public wealth to the same forces(past and present government officials) that have deprived and plundered Nigeria and the well-connected fraudulent entrepreneurs who started from nearly nothing but got rich through participation in the market via connections to the Government and have continued to perpetuate heinous economic crimes against the people of Nigeria? Why don't we just legalize corruption then, if we don't see any wrong in using looted funds to acquire public assets? Some of these men ought to be in jail if Nigeria was a serious country. We are merely producing a group of businessmen whose ties to the state and political establishment put them in position to take advantage of the system for 'Personal Gains'. Privatization is only a means to an end and not an end in itself. When folks like Emeka Offor who never showed 'any sign of competence or capability' in his past dealings, such as the TAM of refineries, fraudulent gas pipeline deals and many others is still allowed to buy off public assets all in the name of privatization, should we then expect efficiency?
I honestly do not hv d time to be debating Sentiments (I hv already stated parts of my view on this mata), but I thought it was important I made some Clarifications: When I said I didn't care who wins a bid AS LONG as d Process was transperant and fair, it didn't include acceptance of a corrupt bidder. However, I bliv that those persons who are corrupt shld be treated as Individual, and reject this Sentimental nonsense of a blanket declaration of sm persons as corrupt cos they supposedly hv links to Govt and you (I mean SR) don't like their faces Or just wants to use their as pawns in d increasingly Roforofo battle, with 'fight against corruption' is used as a TOOL to grap Power....
Politics › Re: Electricity: New Owners Complain Of ‘overwhelming’ Problems by taharqa: 8:16pm On Nov 27, 2013
Gbawe: They are now complaining. Only in Nigeria. Did these shallow and opportunist profiteers, with nil power sector knowledge, not do their feasibility study to see what they are getting into? Wait, I forget it was AGIPs, oligarchs and callous profit-seekers who won ' transparent bids' for conceded power Stations and utilities.

I stand vindicated. Anyone can check the archives to see I talked of the danger of how "pseudo-privatisation" may be all GEJ will deliver given the ultra-corrupt and amoral "awon boyz" government he leads that is midwifing the "privatisation" of our power sector. Everyone heard "privatisation" and the premature jubilation began. We all forget that numerous evidence, far too many to count, show that the current PDP government , just like others before it, is the sort to cynically bastardize and ruin processes by putting personal aggrandizement above everything else . This is why every institution tha should be independent in Nigeria today remains heavily compromised and unable to delivey.

What, as I argued in the past, was wrong with giving, as first line solution in a true federalism, Nigerian States the freedom to device their own electrification solution As Fashola, Amaechi and other serious Governors demanded? Instead we had Abdusalami, a soldier turned Politician, and his rapacious layman sort 'winning' bids all over the place. Not good at all. It was always going to end in tears. Nigerians, enjoy your "privatisation". You deserve it for thinking thieves could care about you when their actions show they live to fleece you. I sincerely hope the "privatisation" of the power sector works for Nigeria but excuse me for being cynical.
@Gbawe, SHUT UP!!! Just SHUT UP, abeg. Biko..

torkaka: 1. FACTION: is an organized group of people within a larger group.
2. INEC: can recognise only one group, meaning two groups lay claim but INEC recognises only one faction thus confirming the presence of a non recognised faction
3. for the lazy few saying the courts recognise only the Tukur led PDP thus no faction, I say "pity", a court cannot declare two factions legitimate, the fact you went to court proves they are two groups seeking for legitimacy. As a matter of fact, going to court itself is evidence that they are two factions in the party

According to you, only one faction of PDP existed before now, there was no division whatsoever in the PDP, nPDP/G7 are simply figments of people's imaginations, and PDP was so united that they publicly told some of their key members to go and join APC just to show the togetherness within PDP.

As a matter of fact, to any Nigerian, G7 is the name of a forum which brought together the heads of the richest industrialized countries: France, West Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States. mumu
