@Post, This has been a fraudulent project from the beginning. I suffer most days in traffic and then have to part with my hard earned money so because people are too busy looting. I strongly believe that with the money Lagos State earns plus Federal allocation, the state should have absolutely no problem upgrading that road from VI to Epe. The amount of tax collected by Lagos on that stretch is mind-boggling!!

take dat: APC cannot stop the Yoruba nation from being part of a 'genuine national conference with its full constituent powers', neither does Afenifere nor any other socio-cultural organization speak for the Yoruba nation. Afenifere, an extinct group was once an identity for the Yorubas, but it died long before the death of Bola Ige and its carcass was interred with Abraham Adesanya.

Why should gerontocrats in their 70's and 80's be the ones to chart a new course for the Yoruba nation? These are men who in their late 20's and 30's already made a name for themselves because of the good vision of Awo, yet they have refused to make any meaningful impact on the lives of an ordinary Yorubaman other than mouthing platitudes about Awoism. The same 'old order' who mortgaged the future of the Yoruba nation by their unholy alliance with OBJ. Insatiable lovers of self-aggrandizement, who have positioned their children in good places/positions just because they put on an Awo cap. Their greed and covetousness led to the birth of the rebellious, Afenifere Renewal Group.

If the Yoruba nation will be represented at the proposed conference, they shall be chosen on the basis of social forces/class identity and between the ages of 20 and 55, and not some self-serving ethnic associations made up of the old guards who have arrogated an illusionary power/authority to themselves or our thieving politicians. We still have Yorubas of high moral standing, we can no longer be fo0led by the 'Akuko Gagaras'.

Peace to the House of Oduduwa! cheesy

hercules07: Actually the total expenditure from the LASG on lekki is #28 billion Naira, broken as follows, #5B loan, #15B buyback, #8B for loan servicing and third party issues, I do not know where you got #170Billion Naira. http://www.tellng.com/business/question-over-lekki-concession-buy-back
Actuali, it is as follows: #15bn to 'buy back' a FAILED concession when d Concessionaire shld be d ones paying LASG; #6.8bn and #3.5bn to pay back d debts incurred by d FAILED Concessionaire (d very 1st time I hv ever heard a party paying d debts of another party that Failed to keep to d terms of an agreement); #5bn that d LASG initiali paid to d Concessionaires at d start of d Scam; #87.7bn that d LASG intends to borrow tru placing a Bond in order to 'complete' the FAILED road project; #35bn which d Concessionaires said they already spent on d road (ok, #30bn ie minus d #5bn which d LASG initiali gave them and which I hv already counted); and, then a still undisclosed amount of money running in the billions which d Concessionaires already got from Toll fees in almost 3 yrs of collecting Tolls from a Project they were not supposed to collect a kobo until d entire Road project is done (according to a Survey conducted by this same Concessionaires suggested a Toll revenue of an Average of #4.2bn Annually from ONLY ONE Toll plaza). You may now ADD up, and see if you wud not have within d neighbourhood of #170- #180bn that wud hv bn spent by both d LASG and d Concessionaire in order to build a 49km Road!!!.... taharqa: The FG would spend an average of #1billion per Km on the Lagos-Ibadan Rd, similar to the initial amount of this Lekki-Epe Rd- both of which are still too Expensive relative to other Climes in the world (Nigeria usually has one of the most Expensive Road Construction Cost in the world, unfortunately).

BUT, apart from the HUMONGOUS Corruption involved in the Scheme that is Lekki-Epe Concessioning/unConcessioning, the LASG and Concessionaire would eventually spend bw #170-#180billion to construct a 49km road (ie at #3-#4billion per Km) ie 3 to 4 times what wud be spent on d already expensive Lagos-Ibadan Rd; and, to make matters worse, same Lagosians who having paid this UNBELIEVABLE sum to construct the road, would still have to pay through their noses for toll fees from at least 3 Toll Gates on that relatively short road!! taharqa: ^^^

Smoothest FRAUD in this country's history. Period...

A road that is suppossed to cost #50bn (already abnormally costly at #1bn per km, sm would say) to be constructed by d Concessionaires who are then expected to recoup their costs AFTER they must have finished construction tru tolling. After 7 years the road is no where near completion, yet d Concessionaires started collecting tolls illegally in d last 3 years (at an average of #4.2billion annually according to results from Survey conducted by the Concessionaire in 2011). Suddenly, in stead of d LASG terminating d contract Or, at least pressuring d Concessionaire to implement their own terms of d contract, the Govt is amazingly paying them #15bn to 'buy back' this failed Concession, #6.8bn and #3.5bn to pay the Debts and 3rd party liabilities incurred by the failed Concessionaire (yes, LASG is willing to even pay these people's debt!!!) ie more than #25bn in total. This is apart from d #5bn the Govt initiali paid to d Concessionaires at d start of d scheme. And, WAIT for it: LASG also intends borrowing #87.7bn by raising a bond to then build d road itself . That is more than #103bn in total. This is from a project that was suppossed to cost #50bn (which was considered even too expensive at this figure then)!!! And to make d whole mata worse, d LASG wud still retain this same failed Concessaire, and apparently STILL PAY THEM either to collect tolls on d road or continuing building d road!!!.

THE QUESTION IS: WHO IS BEHIND THIS LCC CONCESSIONAIRE?? Who is chopping these humongous money from Lagos State Tax payers, with impunity? And why the UNIMAGINABLE Hypocritical SILENCE from peeps?

http://www.tellng.com/business/question-over-lekki-concession-buy-back

http://allafrica.com/stories/201308300319.html
#sorry, the total amount that wud eventuali be spent is more than #130bn, and not even the #103bn I initiali thought: #15bn to 'buy back' d FAILED Concession; #6.8bn and #3.5bn to pay the Debts incurred by the FAILED Concessionaire; #5bn initiali paid by d LASG to d Concessionaire at d start of d project; and of course, d #87.7bn the LASG wud borrow tru placing Bonds to 'complete' d road. Adding all these, plus the monies the Concessionaires have collected since 2011 as Tolls, shld begin to give d fuller extent of d amount involved in this Fraud!!!....

Oh! Shiit: I also forgot to add d #35bn d Concessionaires said they already spent on the largely unfinished road. Adding everything will lead to a total of bw #170- #180bn spent on a 49km Road.
