my brother, i really don't understand the way nigerians think. even people in whose country they manufactured the car hardly use it except those whose company give them as official cars. This is why we have so much corruption and fraud in Nigeria.Young people who don't know how he got this would do anything to be like him.
I think people who display their cars or wealth shud also be open and share their source of wealth

FamilyRe: My Sister Is On The Verge Of Making The Worst Mistake Of Her Life by taiyeayodeji: 10:46am On Sep 08, 2019
u need to be careful with all this abroad based guys, many of them already have women abroad and even children.he may just be trying to have children in nigeria. He may promise to take her abroad,he may not have the means to do so, what does he do abroad, what is his status in UK. is he a citizen, does his status permit him to bring in people to join him.The embassy decides the whole process,so consider a case that she gets pregnant and she can't join him because of visa denial she will only continue to be a single mother. so marriage comes first, the embassy only recognize married people as part of a family.you can only join him if you are his wife and that is what the embassy will recognise

dominique:
The biggest mistake your sister will make is if she gets pregnant for that man. The man most likely has a foreign based family and he's looking for someone to give birth to home based kids to him. You're so fixated on having a sister abroad that you can't see this. Has he said anything about going to registry to get married legally? Or you think by paying for dowry is enough to start processing her travel documents. Your sister is street smart, she knows most of these foreign based men are phony. Your sister should tell him to take her to registry first and marry her legally, then proess her visa before she takes in.
Science/TechnologyRe: Busted: Nigerian ‘Inventors’ Whose Claims Turned Out To Be False (Photos) by taiyeayodeji: 9:36am On Sep 02, 2019
the problem is by our media and also the populist .Not knowing the difference between a new innovation (invention) and modification of existing invention.if I make something new in Nigeria that has been made somewhere else in the world.its not regarded as an invention in the science world .the problem is that we are far behind in research and development. some of the things we are just discovering now have been discovered long ago by some developed nations. There is a body that screens all inventions and ensure that nobody has produced something similar .however we must encourage our people who have made effort in doing something.someday we can end up discovering something totally new.also there is world politics and also some developed countries may not want to acept some innovations as coming from Africa.

Nbote:
Some of dem did not come out to claim dey were d first to invent their discoveries.. They only came up with dis inventions to proffer solutions to existing problems (like in d case of d fuel-less and water-powered generators) and there's nothing wrong in dat.. Atleast it shows some of dem are quickly catching up to d rest of d world even though we are still far behind

Some environment support such things .Generally The African environment support such , i don't know about America and other continent.i know definitely that the European system does not support such.maybe Uk support, you can't be too rich to have so much money in Europe.Having so much money in your account will raise some questions and you will even be investigated even if even if you are not caught in any crime. The government knows exactly how much you earn, how much you pay as rent, your sources of income, everything about you.so if something unusual comes into your account , you will get a letter to explain your source. The system in Africa and probably America may support such , i doubt it can happen in Europe .even if you get money money in Europe, you try to hide it so that the government don't know lol.Its in Nigeria and Africa that the rich show off, you cud probably be sitting in same train with a rich person in Europe and may not know.Once our brothers in naija get money , the whole world must know.Money is good but should not be seen as an achievement but the life's we touch with our money.Generally corruption is not only restricted to Nigeria but its an African thing and it's part of what we learnt from our colonial masters.

There is so much moral decadence in Nigeria, the system is so corrupt and people praise rich people without knowing their source of wealth .a young boy of 17years with no reasonable source of income is building a mansion and nobody is questioning the source.Parent encouraging their kids to engage in crime .politicians stealing and nobody questioning. The only solution is if there is a high tax to discourage wealth amassing. In Europe, the more money you have , the more tax you pay. This discourages people from amassing wealth. Our banking system is corrupt and also part of the fraudulent system.Banks should notify government agencies on fraudulent transactions.

i am laughing .which one be german nigerians. even if you spend 50 years in Germany and have a German passport. when they ask you where you are from, you can't say you are from Germany.Go and do your research well, The passport can be collected if they commit some grievous offence.Having a German passport is diferent from being a German and Germans hate it when foreigners call themselves German.THE law in Germany is different from Britain and blacks have some level of recognitions in UK.

don't mind them.Nigerians are the most easily decieved people, kanu is not an authority in Europe and he lacks the power to stop anybody from cpming.only the government of any country can do that.i think people don't really know what happened in Germany and also the law in Germany.if I will explain a little, German police don't arrest people any how unless you comit a serious offence.if you are a legal residence, if you comit offence, you will get a letter and you will use your own leg come meet them.they know where you stay and if they need you,you will get a letter from them, there are process.if they need to charge you to court , you will be charged to court. so let nigerians be decieved that this people can do whatever they like and go Scot free.some of them might have even got a letter to appear at the station.if the Nigerian embassy opens a case against them.they will be investigated and if they have violated the German law .they will face the German law.Even if they possess German passport, it can be seized and they are sent back to Nigeria under some conditions. If the group goes beyond their boundary and they get labelled as a terror group, any member of the group is in shut.so it's best they operate under the law and within their limit and power. What actually happened was the police came after the whole thing has died down and even the person attacked had gone. it's an offence to even hit your child , not to talk of an adult. so let's not be decieved

in Germany, there is a different between police and private security.the police will never have the inscription security on their shirt or uniform.Police will have POLIZEI .so this video is just to justify their action that it was done in front of police.Even those who did this knows they have limit to what they can do according to german law.You can't assault anybody , not even your child.i don't like corrupt politicians but a situation in which a group thinks they can do whatever they like in Europe is bad. This is not Nigeria, nigerian matters should be settled at home.

phineas:
This is a simple matter. The Nigerian police needs a set up a special task force. Link up with Interpol. Assign special numbers for incident reports in all embassies and treat all cases of assault to public officials as top priority

Make it a matter of international diplomacy/relations.Something like assault on our officials abroad is an assault on the country.Insist on the highest jail sentence for citizens of the foreign country, deportation for local citizens

Sit back and watch the action unfold

PoliticsRe: Will Any Government In The World Sit And Watch A "Revolution" Protest? by taiyeayodeji: 9:00am On Aug 04, 2019
i dont think there is anything wrong in freedom of speech.everybody has a right to express himself but all over the world, unorganized protest are illegal.there are procedures for staging a protest.Approval are obtained from the police .this is necessary because the person or group organizing it must take responsibility for any damages in the course of protest.what happens if some people destroys someone else car or somebody is killed.who will be responsible, so the police and law enforcement agency must be on ground. this requires planning by the law enforcement agency , man power must be allocated and resources. the fire agency must be on ground incase of fire. somebody can't just wake to alter people program .i assume some people have invested so much on a particular thing or maybe a project is to be executed on that said day and it's disrupted because of the protest. so this is why people have to be noted earlier on time .there is no how, you won't find miscreant among the protesters .so things have to be done according to the law , this is how it is done all over the world and when its done contrary to the law, its the duty of the law enforcement agency to ensure things are done according to the law

gidgiddy:
You still dont get it. We are in a democracy. People should be allowed to say whatever they like. What matters is what people do. You cannot charge a person to court for 'talking'. If Sowore likes, he can protest that he wants Buhari to step down. If Sowore likes , he can protest that he wants Snow to fall in Lagos. The constitution has given him the right to protest for whatever reason. The constitution has also given him the right of free speech as long as what he says is not being used to commit crime. If the authorities have any evidence that Sowore wants to use the protest to fo something unlawful, then they should arrest and charge him to court

But if the authorities arrested him because he mentioned the word 'revolution' or that he said he wants 'bundle Buhari out of office' then this arresting a man for merely talking.

If governments start going after people for what they said, as opposed to what they do, then it is no longer democracy, it is dictatorship.

If you cannot understand all this and still insist that the government is right to go after Sowore because of the words he used then it means you dont understand democracy and how it works

before we condemn, its good to do a research to know how much electriciry all countries in Africa generate.then cross check with population of nigeria.the more the population, the more electricity is needed to be generated. electricity is not just what you take money and generate within one day.some people just think that we have money and to generate electricity is just a day thing.i think our people need to be educated, electricity production involve lots of money and takes a continuous effort to reach the required production.its bad when some people are trying to build and some people are destroying.just like crude oil production can drop, electricity production can drop through vandalization and sabotage

the guy is not dead,i think he was shot on the leg.i watched the video.people are quick to judge the police.i must say a criminal in nigeria is different from a criminal else where in the world, and can't be treated same way.i rarely see police with long guns in Europe.they carry short pistols, this approach can be used by Nigerian police because we are talking of more dangerous criminals with no mercy.i believe he must have been told to drop his weapon ( axe ) before being shut on the leg.the title of this tread is very misleading.he was arrested after being shot and i dont think he was arrested before being shot.from the video, likely he entered the compound, destroying vehicles and was overpowered after being shot

babzo:
This story is not been presented right. The police need better PR.
If someone storms out of anywhere with a cutlass or weapon and begins smashing cars to the point where he smashes a whole parking lot of cars, he will be gunned down ANYWHERE in the world by ANY police force. I have witnessed many of such examples in the US. You are told to put the weapon down at least once, if you dont obey ESPECIALLY if you are moving towards another human or destroying property, you will be shot.
And policemen are trained to shoot in the middle of the body to neutralize a suspect, not the legs. The legs are hard to hit.

He has a weapon and is a danger to everyone including himself.

The question is how did he get a weapon in the police station?
Was he mentally ill or on drugs?

Why was he arrested in the first place?

Is this story true?

My condolences to the human race and his family on the violent unfortunate death of another human.

i agree with u,as much as rape is not good and should not be encouraged.my question now is what exactly does this woman want, justice or what.i believed they must have settled the matter among families then, why is it coming out now after more than a decade.does she want to destroy the man or his ministry.its possible the guy did the act,he could be a changed person now. her case can only be brought out to support a present act of rape assuming the pastor is caught in this present time of such act .i believe we all did one awful thing in the past, assuming somebody cheated in exam while in school several years back and sombody now brings it out after more than 15 years.i think she is on a revenge mission.sometimes nigerians behave like hyprocrite, almost everybody have one skeleton in his or her cupboard.we have done one wrong thing in the past,i believe they can solve the problem in house,i believe the man can pay for any damage or does she want him to go to jail.

famzynet:
Never heard of COZA or Dakolo or the said pastor until now.But the way people judge this case tells me how backward Nigeria is. Nigeria is backward because a lot of its citizens lack common reasoning. A woman claimed she was raped at about 18years inside her fathers house, raped by same man in two occasions and waited for about 20years to tell the story and everyone is throwing stones at the pastor even after he has said that the allegation is false. Why has the woman not reported to the police and taken the case to court. This brings to light similar accusations of Suleiman,Ibiyeomie of salvation ministry , Neymar etc. The police and court should handle rape cases. People should stop being judged just because someone said something . People can do or say all sort of things to trend. Did 'Jamal' of Empire not recently stage racist attack just to trend? I pity men who just believe any woman that cries rape. Pray that they don't remember you. Many have been falsely accused.Ladies should also understand that consensual sex with relationship going sour later on is not rape. I am not saying the pastor had any sexual encounter with her. It is left for the court or forensic experts to decide that. Rape victims should report promptly to the police when the evidence are there if they are serious about being raped. With evidence being there, there is no denial and the victim can be trialed and punished by the law. You don't wait for 20years before coming out saying you were naive. 17 + yrs old girl saying she was naived. Even 8 yrs,11yrs report to their mother when uncomfortably touched by someone.Waiting for 20 years before reporting means the person probably enjoyed it then or it is false.Anything short of reporting to the authority on time to me is not rape. You don't come on social media when the evidences are long gone to say you were raped and threatening the accused to sue you. Seems like putting the cart before the horse.

very good advice, coming to europe with kids can result to you losing the kids to the government, most single mothers dont work because they have to take care of their children.the work in europe is not as easy as those in nigeria. There is no difficult work in nigeria.i dont think any embassy will want to give you visa with 2 kids without enough money. No country wants a liability, unless you have somebody who is rich enough to stand as your sponsor.you have to consider the children, you may not be able to do full time work unless maybe you have sombody to take care of the kids, maybe a partner. You cannt pay rent with a mini job.it may take time for you to integrate into any country.so its always best you go first, then your kids join you.the reunion may take time.so remember in developed country, nothing like aunty or uncle to look after your kids,if you have to do a long hours work,u may leave them to foreigners and teachers to bring them up and they may end up teaching them the wrong thing.Things are not as easy as what people think it is abroad,u have to have a good job to survive or you may need to do several job to survive.its difficult even for people who are single without children ,talkless when you are alone.no government will want to come and take responsibilities for your children because presently most single mothers cost tax payers alot of money

MissRaine69:
i will offer a realistic point of view. Unless your children are below the age of 12 you won’t be able to leave them at home alone, the western world has very different laws regarding children.
1. So you will need to consider your childcare needs - childcare costs vary depending on country.
2. To take the children with you means they will have to enrol them into a school and how will that happen if you have the kids with you? Whom will you leave them at home with?
3. Cost of living. Your job has to be able to cover your living expenses and childcare if needed.
Unless you find a job in the ME where the employers are very generous in terms of benefits of accommodation, paying for utility bills etc
You will have to go alone to pave the way for your children that will be the pragmatic way to approach things.

we cant condemn the girl friend, she might have asked her mother inlaw if she needed help ,if the woman say she no need help, who is she to help.i know some women who will never allow outsiders to help them in house chores, the old woman may see its as excercise .so we cant condemn the young lady until we know the full story

unclesoyo:
Twitter is currently buzzing as a story of a Nigerian girlfriend that sat while her boyfriend’s mum swept the room was shared on the platform.

A user on the platform Lord Fuad wrote that a man brought home his girlfriend to meet his mother and while he left her in the sitting room, his mother started sweeping but his girl did not assist her.

“This guy took his gf to his house. He left her in the parlour, went to the room. His mum was sweeping the floor, got to the girl’s place, she lifted her leg so the mum could sweep underneath. Was she right to do that?”

The move obviously was a test for the lady from the boyfriend’s mum, which according to the woman, must have been a bad 1st impression on the side of the girlfriend.

Nigerians however share mixed feelings over the issue and they didn’t hesitate to pour out their minds in the comment section.

See some comments we were able to gather:
A man identifid as Sean Johnson wrote:

All these girls can make mouth for Africa. Find the guy that fit your style and if you are helping the mum sweet, it won’t kill your self esteem in anyway. Have learnt on SM that those who say they can do this are actually the ones who do it

Melinda however said she would not sweep as well as the test was just a stupid one:

All this tests that mothers give girlfriends are stupid. The person that wants to marry me should know if it’s the 1st time I’m meeting the mother & she does this I won’t sweep. I’ll probably fake a call from my mum that I have to take outside and From there to my house

Dr. Chiemeziem shared his thought too:

She’s a visitor to that house for all I care, visitors deserve to be pampared.

Ebere said she would sweep and gave her reason:

I’ll take the broom and sweep not bc I’m obligated to but because I just think its courtesy one then because I’m even happy to be visiting and I don’t want to see myself as a visitor more than I should. Whether they’re testing their ancestors or not, mine is to be happy

In our culture it means you are not wanted in the home:

In my culture if someone starts sweeping, it means they don’t really want you in their house or at the least want you to leave. So I would be insulted, leave and never return.
