Few nights ago, I was at a local restaurant destroying a plate of eba with egusi soup when PMB and His wife came in.

They went straight to a table that was next to mine and ordered their meal.

While waiting for the meal, the wife was smiling and assuring PMB that he will enjoy his night.

"But I don't like sneaking out like a common criminal" he protested.

"Relax, we will soon go back and no one will know that we ever left" she said.

I think it was his wife's idea that they do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn't too luxurious.

Their food was served and PMB started eating immediately. His wife waited small and then asked him if he was enjoying it.

"Oh yes! The food is nice and the place is neat. I am glad I came" he said smiling for the first time.

"I know you will like it" the wife said and started eating her own.

When they finished eating, the owner of the restaurant asked the President if he could speak to the First Lady in private.

PMB's countenance changed immediately like when Nnamdi Kanu was mentioned during media chat.

He looked at the man, then his wife but I have already ducked behind the table before he looked at my direction

"oh Lord my father" I prayed "safe me today and I promise I am never coming here to eat again"

alas he obliged and Aisha had a short conversation with the owner.

"Why was he so interested in talking to you?" He asked her when she came back.

I looked at his face and the anger was gone. Thank God.

"he told me that we were class mates in school and he had been madly in love with me then"

I swear PMB is never coming here to eat again.

"Thank you lord for hearing my prayer but I will still come back because PMB never will" I glorified his name in my heart.

"So if you had married him" PMB continued "you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant?" he said, standing up to leave.

"No, if I had married him, he would now be the President."

When she said that, I remembered what my grandfather told me.

The bible shouldn't be a book to get morality from because that book was written by men who never attained the age of enlightenment and filled with lots of flaws, inconsistencies and contradiction.

Women should wear whatever deem fit so to express themselves fashionly and aesthetically, there's is no limit to beautification according to the RENESSIANCE that's why we have fancy cars, buildings and a lot more today.

Lastly, If you thinks I make zero sense with my opinion then I would advice you follow the bible verbatim and see if you wouldn't end up in jail.

This argument is going in my Facebook group and majority of them think it is ok for a lady to wear trousers.

So I want to get your own opinion.

But before then, I want you to know this.

The version of the bible that "seem" to condem the act is Deuteronomy 22:5 which says

"The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."

My problem with the verse.

When I saw the post on Facebook, I decided to research to find out what the bible really says about women that wear pants and here is what I saw that confused me.

Deut. 22:5 is found among many other ceremonial laws so I was like

If it is indeed a principle to be literally followed today, why would God choose to bury this verse in the middle of what are clearly ceremonial laws?

So I digged deeper and found other things like.

1 Timothy 2:9 that says. . .

women should adorn themselves in modest apparel. . ."

Yes apparel.

How that one take concern trousers you might ask

well,.... I discovered that in 1611 the word "apparel" meant "loose, long flowing garment"

So it wasn't just an old testament thing?

You don see am.

Upon further search, I discovered that the Greek word for apparel is katastole which is an exact word and and the only place in the Bible where it is used. There are lots of words for clothing, attire but no matter how you try to twist katastole, clothes like trousers, miniskirts, tight dresses, etc. can not fit the definition of this word.

That strikes.

I believe y'know that the universal symbol for designating a men's bathroom is a stick figure wearing a pair of pants. The universal symbol for designating a woman's bathroom is a stick figure wearing a dress.

I also learnt that pants were not only exclusively invented for men, but they also have historically been worn only by men, it was the advent of Hollywood and the movie screen that brought the major in our attire. Women women always wore long dresses, it was recently, 40 years ago that a dress is suddenly "impractical" to wear.

So Let Me See What You Think Of The Topic.

State facts, don't condem it because you don't wear it and don't support it because you do.

History or bible references will be highly appreciated.
