Little man , lots of people have gotten visas with this , yes community colleges are frowned at a lot here in Nigeria , but it happens , it’s not impossible, I have someone who went and got . Green river college , auburn , WA . He had another admission from Washington state university. His community college is a partner with Washington state university and many other schools . Google it and see it . Research little man , they are partners and are known for their 2+2 program , and not them alone , some junior colleges are like that .I don’t say anything here with my brain , I say it based on what happened, people who went and got their visas . A proper university will obviously be more convincing to the vo , but lots of people choose colleges cause of the cost and they have legit reasons, they wanna study , they don’t have the whole mighty funding . So don’t speak like that , what you can say is , the chances are very low to get a visa to a community college but it’s not impossible .

I will explain further and say “ an associate degree helps me to know what I am diving into and gets me to know about the basics of engineering. Having an associate degree before a bachelor is an added advantage to me in my field of study

Try to get a conditional acceptance letter from a university and take it with you to the embassy with your associate I-20 .
You can still get your visa with an associate I-20 , but you have to prove to the consular that you will transfer to a 4 year school after your degree and the best way to do that is to get a conditional acceptance to a 4 year school , the conditional acceptance from the four year school is a partial admission letter ; it says that after your 2 years from your community college that they will accept you once you get the required gpa and show prove of funds .
Now this will still not be easy because the consular might not even ask you about your plans for the next four years or even care about what your about to say next. The consular frowns at community colleges because it’s weird for you to spend a lot of money to come and go back to your home country with an associate.

I’ll always say , I believe the embassy and visas is grace , but u also have to be prepared and prepared and prepared. And pls don’t take anything fraudulent with you when going there . Wish you the best .

Witnessed a few interviews last week and I was saddened by some of the responses:

One guy, fresh from secondary school couldn't explain what exactly his entrepreneur mother (who was sponsoring him) actually did. Despite requests for specifics on what she did, the only additional response was 'I don't know'.

Another guy, confirmed he intended to come back to do his NYSC and work in Nigeria. Once asked if his brother (who is a part sponsor of his program) returned from his studies for the NYSC program, the response was negative.

People always try to overanalyze transcripts. My own opinion is that these VOs simply have a quota of rejected applicants to meet and they sometimes select them at random. You'll see some people, no funding, no home ties and their given their visa. You'll see others that have used everything complete yet get rejected.

I will suggest you to came down and apply to schools with Funding. Without funding, it is impossible to get visa. Although, only small % of persons can have luck to get visa without funding. Do spend your money to reapply for visa again. Your details are already on the system. Even if, you change now. That your sponsor is your parents. They will see it as a lie.

For the funding - visa aspect , it’s a lie , a lot of people get visas without funding , pls stop scaring the thousands of students who are about going to the embassy/consulate without funding .
A lot of undergrads don’t really get funding like that so are you saying they shouldn’t go for their interview or even try to school in the u.s because they “can’t get funding “ . I know a lot of students who didn’t get any funding whatsoever and still got their visas issued .

You need to select a date asap ! Even if you see Dec 2023 , select it , once you’ve done that then you can request for an emergency appointment. If you initially didn’t select any date , you won’t have access to the emergency slot . Bests of luck

Good day all, please I need your assistance here as one University (Clark University Worcester Massachusetts) in the United States offered me admission and they are requesting I should pay five hundred dollars for enrollment fee where application fee was 175 dollars but was waived at the early stage of the application. I got the offer 30th of October and was asked to make the payment before 4th of November using transfer mate.

I don’t know if this helps , but check the schools website and be sure they actually charge students for enrollment .
