Politics › Re: How Magu’s Fall Silences Buhari’s Anti-corruption Vuvuzela By Adam Ibrahim by taneez(f): 2:51pm On Jul 08, 2020 |
Thank you o. Sense won't fail you. mushystuff: And you actually award a plus for an action that need not have occured if Buhari had been law abiding by heeding to the damning report of the DSS and resultant refusal of the Senate to confirm Magu?
You actually think that it is a plus that Buhari and crew have only just decided to play some drama after 5 years of avoidable damage?
In your clear conscience, if you have any, a person who was found wanting 5 years ago was still allowed by the same president to preside over a sensitive institution like the EFCC and somehow it plus that the president has only chosen to act after 5 years!
I wonder how some of you think really. Have you stopped to check what the actual status of the so called anti corruption war is under such a dirty Magu? What benefits do the Nigerian citizens stand to gain? Who will account for the so called recovered loot that has obviously been re-looted? What about critical resources being expended now to chase down some investigation and probe that should have been avoided 5, even 4 years ago? |

This is what happens when people think hiring a professional is a waste. The truth is the cost of hiring a professional on paper may seem expensive but is cheaper in reality. This also goes for people who give their projects to " Baba Bricklayer" to build. Some of them over quote materials which would make you spend more money.
My professional advice is to engage a construction company or a trusted professional (civil engineer or builder). Why? A registered company or professional can be reported and sanctioned.
Be there when the project is starts. Ask for pictures and videos daily.
A trusted professional will charge you based on stages of project completed. Ensure you receive receipts. |

The best time to buy land or house is now. Why?
- Real estate developers need money to complete their projects. This will give you a more bargaining power. You can get discount or even increase the duration of installment payments.
- People who want to sell their personal landed property need cash as soon as possible.

For those crying that people are not supporting dads. This is an example of what I saw my father do.
Apart from provision, PTA meetings( he was so concerned about our education that he was chairman of PTA for 10 years when my siblings and I were in primary school when we got to secondary school he became a PTA chairman), he taught me maths and other science related courses after school, picked me up most of the times after school, took us out, cooked his special jollof for us, fixes anything fixable, not too strict, didn't stress my mum.etc infact the list is endless. There are little things that you do apart from provision.
My sharing formula is 50:50 because my parents did a lot. |
Family › Re: N100,000: How would You Share This Between Your Parents? by taneez(f): 3:15pm On Feb 25, 2020 |
safarigirl: The 'system' did nothing to dads, most men just refuse to admit that there are many deadbeat dads .
Some of you think caring for a child is just about bringing money all the time, these responses shows that a child is not a toy that you can just pour money on, and most men failed in raising their kids.
Mothers have done more than their own parts, but fathers are still slacking because they think only women should nurture a child. Only few fathers have healthy relationships with their children, compared to mothers.
Notice how, many people are sharing based on who showed more love and affection and who they think sacrificed more. Some are giving their dads more, based on this. You cannot bully a child most of their lives and expect reward just because you were paying school fees, while reducing their self esteem.
Men need to pull up their weight, you cannot buy affection with money and you cannot emotionally blackmail people into forgetting who showed them love when they most needed it. You don't know anyone's personal experience with their parents.
So,yes, many are bastards because their fathers were never really there. I was about to respond to that person whom you quoted. It is like you took the words from my brain. This is obviously a funny topic but most of the answers are based on what we were looking at the while we grew up. I come from a very healthy family and mind would be 50/50 because my parents sacrificed a lot for me. This is a lesson to men and women on this forum. For men it isn't only about spending money on a child. I know people who after the dad spent alot of money on them who still prefers their mum because they saw their dad with side chicks or beating the mum. Now the mums are the ones seemingly enjoying. I also know some people who said their mum's didn't take care of them well. One even said that her mum would rather buy the latest lace than support the dad. Now the dad is enjoying. . |

donstan18: I've got many, but I'll tell one.
During my 100lvl registration then in school. Any graduate or student can relate how stressful, tiring and crowded it use to be doing registrations.
It was so sunny that very day with crowd of freshers everywhere, i got tired at some point and decided to get some rest under a tree. Unbuttoned the first two buttons of my long sleeve shirt for air while getting some rest
Some minutes later, a very big yellow-headed lizard fell from the tree and found its way inside my singlet[Singlet was tucked in my jeans], I screamed so high and got the attention of 99% of students there, while trying to make way for lizard by pulling my singlet from my jean, I ended up opening another way for the lizard to jump inside my boxer. At that moment, I shouted and nervously got confused that I couldn't differentiate my prick from the lizard in my boxer because both of them were dangling and dancing around as I was screaming and rehearsing makossa dance in public, jumping around the tree shouting and behaving like a mad man. People couldn't help because they don't know how to, rather, some were laughing and shouting in amusement.
As God had it, i successfully dragged the lizard out, it jumped out, nodded its head and was there looking at me like a fool instead of running, out of anger of embarrassment, I chased the lizard with my tattered clothes and ended up falling down while the lizard escaped. People were laughing as I was, just so FVCKING EMBARRASSED and PISSED that I was so ashamed to even stand and clean my cloth.
Fortunately, two ladies from the crowd stepped forward, helped me picked my scattered files and cleaned my clothes[Thou they were smiling and laughing while helping], and I had to laugh too in shame.
Nna eh! I just jejely gather morale waka comot, find okada begin dey go my lodge

Noble11: Nigerians buy cars with people's opinion and recommendations.. My first car was Mazda 626 lift back, that was in 2005,I gave it out to one yoruba man which happens to be the father of my mechanic, that car never gave me problem till date that man is still using it for taxi in ajao estate. My second car was BMW m3 series sport . I was told not to buy that car, that it's very expensive to maintain and it consumes fuel. But when I was moving back from lagos to onitsha I filled my tank(55lits) which took me to asaba before refilling my tank. The spare parts are available in ngbuka obosi very cheap.. My next car whenever I come back to Nigeria will be either BMW or Mercedes-Benz..I only gave that car out coz I don't like front wheel drive.. Love a car buy the car..don't buy coz some says it last longer.. It's all about maintenance I have been thinking of getting Mazda lately |

Do you think an average white person of that time new the difference between African immigrants or black americans? Blacks we're blacks to them even coloured were still blacks. And these people fought for the opportunities
E.g right to vote- if an African immigrant at that time travelled to America and maybe became a citizen he wouldn't still have been able to vote because he was still black. School- if an African immigrant at that time settled in America and wanted to send his children to school he would still have been segregated because not all schools were open to blacks.
The above examples shows what the black americans fought for. They carried placards, protested, segregated and even killed. .Auto correct o- were* |

iramure: This is quite interesting Let me comment form my own personal experience. I knew my wife now was exactly like you when were dating. I loved her wholeheartedly with everything I had. I talked to her severally about the need to change her attitude to win me totally. She promised to. This assurance made me to leave the other two that practically showed green light.. Even though I knew her "uncaring, cold, too silent attitude was constantly breaking my heart, I believed she would change. Fastward to now, we are married with children but am all alone. We still live together but she is just not the type that know how to make man happy, very unromantic, zero social life.. just no communication. I demand for romance almost all the time we are together, she doesn't just give a damn. I work in a different place only come home to see them maybe once in 2 months. Am not always glad to come because her attitude are uninviting. This I live with as I write this.... Totally heartbroken. My opinion on your topic. Ralationship should be 50-50 thing. Incompatibility is not an option. I only love my wife but her love for me is too cold. Am suffering silently. Am always tempted to seek happiness from other ladies of good attitude but am afraid. Sir don't be tempted. I think you should plan outing every month with her deliberately ( with dates both agreed) like kayaking, hiking and traveling . If you leave the planning and execution to her she will procrastinate because of her personality( she is most likely a phleg) and the children. Both of you should read 'travel with a pen' blog ( www.travelwithapen.com) so that you can plan your trips ( you can start from republic of Benin). I am sure when you do some very fun activities she will be the one asking for more. Don't forget to plan DELIBERATELY. |

We Africans cannot really understand what they went through because slavery was horrible. It is more of a psychological thing.... The privileges African immigrants are enjoying today is because African Americans fought for it with sweat and blood and so we should be compassionate.
But right now, the African Americans should look at the countries that sold them as slaves and make wise choices. There are thousands of Africans who wish to be in the US today. |

The truth is you are not compatible and he was not for you. I am an unapologetic introvert just like you and I am getting married this year and he is an extrovert. It takes someone who loves and understands you to love your personality.
Your own man will understand your quietness and make sure you communicate often even if the communication breakdown. He will help you and be patient. No one is perfect na. Extroverts have their issues too. |
