Politics / Re: Checkout The Salary Of Nigeria Politicians In 1979 by Tarabye: 10:40pm On Jun 06
dominique:
My dad's salary in the late 70s as an entry level graduate civil servant was less than N400. Anybody earning up to N1000 those days was big! Now compare that to what government officials were earning which is not inclusive of travel and other bonuses, cosy of governance have always been high since decades ago
I came across my dad pay slip from the early 90s, and it was about half of what the president earned in the 70s. This really shows how much politicians have been enriched with our funds over the years.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Saudi Arabia's First Alcohol Store Has Opened In The Diplomatic Quarter by Tarabye: 3:39pm On Apr 25
It hurt to witness Saudi Arabia embracing western culture, seemingly deviating from the teachings of prophet.

The opening of alcohol store in Riyadh's diplomatic quarter raises concerns about the erosion of our Islamic values.
We should reflect on the words of the Prophet Muhammad, who prophesied the widespread consumption of alcohol as a sign of Qiyamah.

Let us strive to uphold our faith and traditions amidst the changing times, mindful of the warnings about the generations to come being worse than our own.
Politics / Re: Remi Tinubu's Visit: Governor Adeleke's Wives Clash Over Who First Lady Position by Tarabye: 12:36pm On Apr 22
As a man becomes rich and successful, you often see women vying for his attention. It's rare to see women fighting over a poor man.

This situation underscores the value placed on wealth and success in our society. However, true success should be measured not just by material wealth, but also by one's character, integrity, and positive impact on others.

Let's aspire to be successful in all aspects of life, not just financially, and to be sought after for our values and virtues, not just our wealth.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Jewish Population By Country by Tarabye: 3:36pm On Apr 21
The United States has a commitment to protect Zionist interests, which has contributed to the significant Jewish population in the country.
The establishment of the United States was based on a British conquest of the "red Indies" with a Zionist agenda.
Evidence are there to support that Washington Bush was a Jew, and was made the first president of the US.
Romance / Re: Ladies Have You Observe Guys No Longer Beg Us For Relationship These Days by Tarabye: 7:32pm On Apr 09
It's crucial to prioritize our goals and aspirations, focusing on building a successful life. Relationships should complement our journey, not distract us from it. I believe that when we're driven and successful, the right connections will naturally fall into place. It's about mutual respect and understanding that make relationships meaningful.

I've gotten the stuffs I need already. I heard there are no M series phones in Nigeria, they were made for Asian Markets. Any one of them you find here was shipped in from China or India
Glad you were able to find what you needed
Yes, you're right about the M series phones. They're not officially sold here in Nigeria, so importing them is usually the only option.

Phones / Re: I Need Suggestions by Tarabye: 11:52am On Apr 06
dominique:
I need suggestions and recommendations for the following
1. A midrange Samsung phone long lasting battery
2. A good quality power bank.

No adverts please. Thanks

For a midrange Samsung phone with a long-lasting battery, you might consider the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. It features a 5000mAh battery that should last you throughout the day with moderate use. Another option is the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, which also has a 4500mAh battery and offers good battery life.

As for a good quality power bank, you could look into the Anker PowerCore 20000mAh portable charger. It offers high-capacity charging and fast charging speeds, making it a reliable option to keep your devices powered on the go.
Another option is the RAVPower Portable Charger 20000mAh, which also offers fast charging and multiple charging ports for convenience.

Romance / Re: People In Their 30s With No Kids And Single, How Do Y’all Feel by Tarabye: 5:07pm On Apr 03
I think it's natural for people to have different timelines for starting a family, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Some may feel concerned about being older parents, while others may not worry about it at all. Personally, I believe that age doesn't dictate one's ability to be a good parent or the love they can give. Everyone's journey is unique, and what matters most is being prepared emotionally, financially, and mentally when the time comes. Right now, I'm focused on living in the present and trusting that things will fall into place when they're meant to.

Mikel99:
I think hell fire is not enough to punish some people for the sins they have committed in this life.
Do you agree with me?

Stop thinking!!! Your knowledge is limited
Here is one of the stages of qiyamah

Allah will order that the Jahannam be brought. It will have seventy thousand bridles, and each one being pulled by seventy thousand angels. On seeing it, everybody will fall on his or her knees.

Quran 45 v 28; And you will see every people on their knees

They will be gripped with fear. The transgressors will raise loud cries and shrieks. For the second time, the Hell will breathe out its heat, and people will be filled with rened fear and awe. At the third instance, people will fall upon their faces. Then, Allah will say:

Quran 36 v 60-63; O children of Adam! Have I not enjoined on you that you should not worship Shaytan for that he was an avowed enemy, and that you should worship me, (for that) this was the right way? However, he did lead astray a great multitude of you, did you not then understand? This is the hell of which you were repeatedly warned.

dominique:
Its the way these Nairaland alfa males ignored the stealing habit of this teenager and focused on his uncle's wife's "wickedness". So petty theft should be accepted and applauded by the op so she won't be seen as wicked? The boy has given her every reason not to like him and I won't blame her for it. If someone keeps stealing from you, feel free to like the person that's your business. I personally can't stand thieves and I won't even try to pretend to like you even if you're my blood relative that steals.

By the time the boy graduates from petty theft to armed robbery, I hope he robs you at gunpoint like the one in this video

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: FG Job: How My Name Was Replaced With Someone Who Lobbied & Paid Paid ₦7 Million by Tarabye: 7:07am On Nov 25, 2021
OldSkoolHeadBoy:
Anyone that can dole of N7M as bribe does not need that job because he would likely have twice that in his savings or at least have people around him/her that can further contribute more towards a more worthy cause. Why would anyone do that for a job that is not certain after paying the bribe ?
No matter the amount you pay to secure these jobs is not a waste, you will recoup your money within a year. FIRS is a top place, it was buhari that cut some of their allowances. Initially you could earn 10 million and above for level 9 entry but now it isn't the same again
I'll pay to secure job in either NLNG, DPR, NPA, NIMASA, NNPC, NDIC and NCC so far it's legit and does not surpass 10 mill. It's unstressed and highly secured. These are people that live around me, I know them well. I shouldn't be saying this, there was this NDIC staff that retired four years back, he took home a whooping 120mill.

A staff told u this? You're a liar. How much is the annual salary that people will pay N7m.
Only foolish and gullible people will believe this trash. If we're talking Shell or Mobil I go hear.
Renovate house and buy car in 6 months. Is it not that same agency wey my cousin be dey work? Their salary is just average, slightly better than Ministry. Most of their young ambitious staff are leaving. Overrated piece of crap.
You're arguing baselessly, FIRS pays about 4 million upfront every 8 months apart from 250k basic salary monthly for level 8
He may buy a car in 6 months or renovate their house. It's not a big deal
