Education / Re: Nigerian University With The Best Hostel Facilities? by Tbamo(m): 8:39pm On Mar 28, 2016

American Univ. Of Nigeria has the best hostel Facilities since 2007 all rooms are fitted with a/c so of the hostels majority of the hostel hv en suite toilet facility w/hot water comfy beds. Etc common rooms are equiped with dstv, high speed WiFi also a state of the art cafeteria with delicious cusine. I'm so proud 2 b a Stallion we at AUN had it so good unlike other pathetic Unis am seeing here grin

the pictures you are displaying don't come close to the average rooms in Alexander Brown Hall, UCH,UI.

amongst federal universities UI has the best hostels. Also with the constant reduction in student population yearly at the school ,overcrowded hostels are a thing of the past!

Abt used to house over 350 per set now the average set is abt 150

the truth is more than 80 % of those that come to UI only see the old sport complex, not many are willing to make the long walk/ drive to their new stadium/ sport complex.....i can bet in ur one year you never visited the Awo stadium complex it beats th Uniport stadium and I also served in Uniport and I'm doing my residency in uniben!

The DSS showed the lazy coward to Ekiti people that he is not dead oooooo!.......(even AIT confirmed the coward is HALE and HEARTY).......the lanky coward must be missing his Pounded Yam now. That is the fate that will befall all the zombies called 'honourables' standing up for Fayose.

So nigeria has become a police state where a man can be detained with charges not present in our constitution, and the DSS can claim they do not know of the court order for his release, that is common knowledge on the Street ( which in it self shows a level of incompetence cos they should get info before anybody in the country), and an almost half dead man is presented an all we can say is fayose is a liar?

I understand you, but I think the sentence is harsh. Brandy, the American singer, had the same issue and she didn't go to jail.

points to consider
1. she was drunk
2. she was driving against traffic
3. she tampered with evidence by removing documents from the car
4. your claim that the family's needs are not taking into consideration is wrong
5. brandy was not drunk and was not breaking any traffic laws
6. in the West DUIs are no longer placed under involuntary manslaughter, they are either voluntary o culpable homicides
7. the lagos AG has every right to seek further redress ( the case of the south African legless sprinter comes to mind)
8. we all know 100k as the initial punishment was a slap on the wrist
9. there are no provisions for fines for any form of manslaughter in the constitution
10. Based on the facts she should have been fined what she would have earned in a five year duration and with what we are hearing should run into millions even( if a fine was allowed)

her pride also got the better of her. If she had appealed to the family earlier on they would have put in a word. that usually sways courts but even th family is pissed

Look young man, I don't like folks who throw insults at any random cognomen on faceless fora. You would have still pass your own opinion without name callings.

That been said. No court of any jurisdiction have found yunusa guilty of the baseless accusations he was been accused of. What I and everybody have been reading online and offline is how yunusa the Muslim boy from the north "kidnapped/abducted" the innocent young christian bayelsa girl called ese from the south. Then I asked you, if this is not disrespect to yunusa's person then what is it? Yunusa has outrightly said he never abducted ESE rather she was the one that willingly followed him to kano. The girl is 14 as you all want everybody to believe. Then why are you not calling for the heads of ese's parents who failed to tell their 14yrs old child that it is very wrong to elope with boys to wherever?

Look young man, nobody is a fool and nobody believed the facade that ese's mother told journalists. Like I outrightly said. If you guys think nobody will stand up and speak/fight for yunusa, then you guys must be joking

I'm not sure you have heard of the term grooming! Google it! That's what Adam Johnson of Sunderland is being arraigned for! it is when an adult entices a minor for romantic and sexual purposes! for ur Information it was part of the child act just passed by the GEJ govt abt Two yrs ago!

by Nigerian law a 14 year old cannot elope with anybody older than 18 yrs! and from the pics I have seen that guy looks like he's in his 30s!

marriage cannot also take place in nigeria until a child reaches the age of 18!

it's funny and barbaric to support suc acts! t northern elite sponsoring this fellows lawyers have their kids in European universities while they help the poor remain backward!

eve from a medical perspective that girl is now at risk of a lifetime debilitating condition VVF!

Mummy Onyeka, ordinarily you belong in the class of King Sunny Ade, Oliver de coque, Ebenezer Obey, etc. Because truly you are a veteran in the industry but unfortunately today, due to your greed and wanton desire for easy wealth, you have sold your integrity to the highest bidder and lost all respect that should be accorded a woman of your calibre. Today, I wouldn't even place you in the class of people like Vic-O, because at least, those people have something they stand for, for you madam, I'm yet to see exactly what your values are.

From supporting Babangida's tyrranical rule, to spearheading Abacha's "President for life" ambition, to licking Obasanjo's butt, Yaradua didn't have your time but you eventually wriggled your way into power again with GEJ and carried his failed reelection bid on your head like a pure water seller.

Right now you should just bow your head in shame please, and stop trying to whip up tribal sentiments because you lost a job given to you as compensation. Because if I ask you now, since you got into office, how have you been able to touch the life of the average Nigerian? You go dey look me like luqmon.

Please be gone! Nothing you or say willbchange the fact that you were disgraced out of office.

Stop telling stories....Basic surgical procedure? Is surgical removal of subdural hematoma a basic surgical procedure? What type of hernia repair falls under a basic surgical procedure ?
Herniorrraphy,hernioplasty or herniotomy?

I know enough to determine when someone is reaching out and insinuating what isn't there.

oh good so I don't have to dumb down for you so you think a nurse of the road should be able to perform a CS? cos that's the original argument? hmm
and Yep they all follow the same principles of general surgery and a general surgeon should be able to carry out all of the above when under pressure madam!!
and you are doing it again the thing I d with my bro! throwing lingo around!!

I don't know you, but I love you enough to not wish you require medical attention in a federal govt owned hospital after march 10 if the government decides to reason like you that one group will affect the polity more
I'm a doctor and when I was working in the country there were several johesu strikes and none I repeat none paralysed the work in the hospitals. the house officers were given new responsibilities and even residents from pathology took over the blood bank and things were never better organised so don't kid ur selves. Only doctors can shut down hospitals!

The poster never mentioned what you wrote. So it's just like putting words into someones mouth.

Surgery is a skill learnt by looking and learning and regulated by laws.

Subdural hematoma you mentioned.....hmmm...except you are a neurosurgeon I do not see how anybody both doctors and others can do it.
funny you go the specialist route so you admit his uncle is not a specialist but he has enough surgical skills to perform a CS yet his skills can't repair an hernia, or simply reduce intracranial pressure??
when I argue with my engineer brother on how to repair our generator I do what you are doing I throw about lingo so he will think I know what I'm talking about, but the truth is deep down I know he knows infinitely more than I do if his uncle can perform a CS then he should be able to perform basic surgical procedures in many specialties

This is not dick measuring contest. If so, can you explain why residents in US receives less than registered nurses but they work more than 80 hours in a week?
We are in the new millennium not 2000years ago where barbaric medicine was practiced, this is the era of evidenced based medical practices with diversification of roles. No longer jack of all trades master of none. Medicine no longer revolves around the doctors, patients are now the supreme boss. .
oh now you want a dick measuring contest Pls go through u our same report and check out how much that value changes if only second year residents were measured and then move on to third year and finally check out the extreme change that occurs when they become attendants
the nurses your report quotes for are at the pinnacles of their careers and only get administrative promotions based on years and experience....but oh Lord the sufferings of these times are nothing to be compared with what is revealed in 4 yrs after they finish residency!!!

These are baseless assumptions not present in the post you quoted. You are simply interjecting. The post wrote CS and you are interjecting other surgical procedures and making unnecessary inferences not related to the subject of discourse.
of course I'm interjecting he claimed his uncle could perform CS so he was better than doctors. all I did was to add a few procedures his 'better than doctor' uncle should be able to perform at th very least and you claim I made baseless assumptions. pls tell me why they are baseless don't just use high sounding words to b up ur arguement show the baseless assumptions and counter!
that's constructive!

Some people just talking rubbish. Who is asking for Doctor's pay. I don't regret being a radiographer. Truth is apart from those in federal, most doctors earn less than me. Infact I pity most Doctor's especially those in private still collecting 100k monthly after combining 2 jobs. The point of the strike is this; NMA & FG REACHED AN AGREEMENT, JOHESU & FG ALSO REACHED AN AGREEMENT. FG HAS LONG iMPLEMENTED ITS AGREEMENT WITH NMA BUT HAS REFUSED TO IMPLEMENT JOHESU'S. Give me a better definition of bias.
it's not bias. if I was FG I would sit down and think which group would affect the polity more if we don't satisfy them!
well the answer is before you! you guys will go on strike and life will continue, when you see that the world is not coming down you will take to illegal actions like locking up important access points in the hospitals and denying access to th keys when these don't work you move on to barbarism by attacking doctors ( abeokuta 2013 June, Uniport sept2014 etc) when this also does not work you will start to intimidate pts u all so claim to love!

I am not a doctor nor a nurse but i know by experience that a patient's life is safer in the hands and care of nurses than all those lazy and quack doctors in all the teaching hospitals in nigeria. A lot of people have died and still dying because of carelessness of these doctors who cant even practice abroad because their licences will be seized and litigation by patients will send them to jail. Local champions

this is the kind of comment that makes one query nigerias educational system. from your claim, we can deduce a pts life is safer in the hands of someone who by law can at best provide only palliative care.we can also deduce that all doctors are quacks. Also no Nigerian trained doctor can practice outside the country
I have enough information to show you that nigeria has the third highest export of doctors to the west in the whole world but with someone that argues like a 1st year poly student it's gonna be a waste of time!

I believe every tribe has the right to self determination! The methods though are the problem!
I have listened to radio Biafra and the insults and derogatory language kanu used on members of other tribes is the reason for those asking why the igbos are hated so much!
Nobody wants to be called an animal or a member of the zoo!
Catalonia, Scotland etc have employed sane discussions without trying to pull down the other parties in their various speeches!

I believe it will be wrong for any pro Biafra protest in another region in which you are a minority.
You are inadvertently telling your host community that you are superior to them. Human nature will surely feel slighted!

I also think the yorubas are tolerant because the igbos living in the north will Not even dream of such a protest in kano!

Rancour will not help in this campaign. During the civil war ojukwu was a figure that people of all social cares could rally to but I must say kanu does not cut it
He is a loud uncouth fellow and he's just a rabble rouser. When the dust settles you don't usually find such!!
