All those crying about AVATAR, have you watched LOST? you should see the way Touchstone Television presented nigeria. its means nothing. the truth is that, this is what sells. violence, crime, drugs, prostitution ect. this is what the consumers(YOU AND I) want to see, and even if they portrayed nigeria as paradise, am sure some of you will will be the first to shout. "ah ahn  why are they lying "

i have watch countless number of hollywood films and the question is:how many contries dose hollywood portray in good light? NONE. not even America itself. to them, south america equals DRUGS and kidnap,Africa= porverty and rebels, eastern europe, italy russia are mafia and gruesome murderer, all arabs are terrorists, and so on, it has nothing to do with nigeria.so those of you saying its because nigeria is a failed state, get you head out of your ass.

@poster
Get your head out of your ass.what do you mean by TALENTLESS NIGERIAN ARTIST? if they were talentless, how come they keep getting more international recognition and awards?surly in a big industry like we have in nigeria, there would be some wachkos but it would be silly of you to call nigerian artist generally talentless. secondly,if you think nigerian artist copy americans, come to brazil and see the way brazilian artist copy too, same as ghanians, jamaicans, south africans etc.even uk artist copy too.when someone is leading it is only normal that others will copy him and as of today, american artists are leading. entendido?

Sports › Re: Lars Lagerback Named Super Eagles Technical Adviser by Tcrack(m): 2:39pm On Feb 27, 2010
FROM WIKIPEDIA

Under his guidance, the Swedish National Team qualified for the Euro 2000 but lost in the group stages.

In 2002, he led Sweden to the World Cup where Sweden was in 'group death'. Sweden lost against Senegal. In 2004, Sweden qualified for their third straight championship. In the Euro 2004, Sweden made it to the quarter-finals where they lost against Holland.[7] That same year, Tommy Söderberg left the Swedish National Team to coach the U21 Team.

After the departure of Söderberg, Lagerbäck appointed Roland Andersson as assistant coach. In 2006, Lagerback took Sweden to their fourth consecutive championship, the first time in Swedish history. He led Sweden to the 2006 World Cup, losing against Germany 2 2–0 in the knockout stage.[8] Under Lagerbäck, Sweden also qualified for UEFA Euro 2008, however they were eliminated in the group stage after losing 2-0 against Russia. The team's early dismissal from the tournament led sport columnists to ask Lagerbäck to be sacked..[9] Despite this, he signed an extension, which would keep him until the end of the 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign. After Sweden's unsuccessful qualification campaign for this summer's World Cup in South Africa, Lagerbäck resigned.[10]

ANYONE THAT SAYS THIS GUY IS A GOOD CHOICE, IS A MAD PERSON.

of all the coaches in the world, this is the trash Nigeria could appoint. I even heard someone saying he is the best. Koni da fun gbogbo yin.

O boy
There is no way you can live in the uk and have a business in Nigeria. If it were in another country where things work, it would have been different but not naija, you have to monitor your business in person. To live in the UK and run a business in Nigeria, you need a trustworthy person. Am sorry if this sounds insulting but from my own experience, NIGERIANS ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY, including family members.I can assure you, you will most likely regret it.
I would suggest you look for what you can invest in there in the UK or go back home and manage your business YOURSELF

Nairaland General › Re: Show Of Shame : As Police Parade 9 Corrupt Officers by Tcrack(m): 3:05pm On Feb 24, 2010
Ayemokhia:
Whenever Police authorities beat their chests asserting that they are one of the very few institutions in Nigeria that have zero tolerance for corruption, many people will look the other way.

In fact, many will boldly assert that their claim is the other way round. However, this Police claim got a boost  last Thursday in Lagos when men of the X squad at the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID),  Alagbon, publicly paraded nine members of the force for engaging in corrupt activities.

The officers who were  attached to various police formations in the Force were arrested for allegedly conducting illegal checking points at various highways within the country.  The arrested policemen were also caught collecting money from motorists plying their route.

Crime Guard learnt that on February 12th, 2010, officers attached to the  X Squad led by on (SP)  Amure Iliya Takobi who were on anti-corruption drive found squeezed N12, 000 in various denominations on six policemen attached to the Federal Highway Patrol.  The Policemen were conducting illegal check point at a spot popularly known as Aso Rock along the Lagos_ Benin Expressway.

Identities of the six policemen were given as (Insp) Rafiu Akinola, (Sgt) Hama Dogavi (Sgt) Dana Umar, (Cpl) Ason Usere Ikombosa and (Cpl) Adelowo Olaleka.

The other three arrested police officers were identified as (Pc) Leyi Isong attached to Ojo police division, (Pc) Stanley Okobia and Corporal Ley Kabomi.

The FCID Alagbon image_maker, Mr. Friday Achibong told reporters that detectives attached to X squad swung into action after getting series of complaints by members of the public about the nefarious activities of some of these policemen on the highway bordering on intimidation, harassment and extortion.

“In line with the Inspector-General of Police, Ogbonna Onovo anti-corruption posture and based on stern directives from the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in-charge of the squad, Innocent Chibike,  detectives attached to X squad swung into action and rounded them up after carrying out surveillance for hours along Lagos-Benin Highway.  During the operation, some of them fled abandoning their rifles.

We later recovered those rifles and we have spread our dragnet in search of them.  They will be made to face disciplinary action by the authorities to serve as a deterrent to other such corrupt officers still remaining in the force”.
When Crime Guard spoke with some of the officers during the parade, they pleaded for forgiveness assuring that they will never engage in such criminal activities again.

Amodu MUST be sacked because

1,Its Nigerias birth right to win every match and since Amodu connot achieve that, he must be fired.
2,Every Nigerian  (including those that couldnt pass ordinary WAEC) know more about   team selection, match reading , player motivation,
  team management  ETC, than Amodu
3,White coaches are magicians so once we hire one, all our problems will be over.

Foolish people.

the problem with nigeria is infrastructure. transportation, water, electricity, schools, etc, if we had all this, most people outside including myself, would run back home.its not the things are rosy here but the things our government consider as luxuries (eg internet, phone) are considered as basics outside thats why we prefer to stay outside.
