candidtalk: You're the tribalist and a religious bigot to boot. What has religion got to do with the date of a political rally?
Do you know the security, timing and logistical cconsiderations that made organisers settle on that date?
Yet you are here working a religious angle just to make Tinubu and Lagos APC look bad.
This is why I despise you Igbos. You love no one and always believe in causing problems for others to profit cynically. Next minute you turn around and begin playing victim.
Why are you people, of all Nigerians, the ones always seeking and promoting what divides people? "Yerooba muslim" etal are disgraceful legacies of Igbos effort to cause division and disaffection amongst Nigerians.
Even when the world sees you killing yourselves korokoro in the SE you still run online to blame "Fulani DSS agents" rather than tackle the sadistic killers amongst you.
You guys are cursed and toxic from birth walahi. You set your rally at the time of Christian worship and you call me the bigot. Funny people |

All this anti-Christian "evil" of Tinubu and APC has somehow managed to be hidden and ineffective in the many years you've been moving to Lagos, with all your possessions in black bags, from Igbo States only to succeed unimpeded to then bring 30 more of your family from ala Igbo to join you?
When some of us say you Igbos are incorrigible ingrates and haters you will begin to cry yet what is the point of this thread about Lagos that is your second biggest and most accommodating home in the universe outside your native SE?
You guys should keep up the lies. You think you're doing Obi a favour but you don't realize you're damaging ethnic relations between Yoruba and Igbo for good.
Even very Liberal Yorubas are beginning to see and note you guys for what you are. What are you talking about? You are not a liberal but rather a tribalist. Luckily most Yoruba's are not like you. |

I am sure you are not quoting the bible. here is what the bible says Job2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. job1:6 Thus did Job continually. [6] Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. [7] And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Oga, your faulty logic is equivalent to claiming that Adam is not son of God because he is human. You are not making any point. What is your position? Are you saying that Angel means son in the Hebrew language? Because if that is your point we should research right now because you are completely wrong. In fact, the Hebrew translation of Angel means messenger. Now to your question: What is the meaning of the Hebrew lexicon of Malak? Answer- מֲלְאָךְ mălʼâk, mal-awk'; from an unused root meaning to despatch as a deputy; a messenger; specifically, of God, i.e. an angel (also a prophet, priest |

BTW, Obj sold the steel company to an India Steel Corpration and when that flop of a President, Yar Adua, took over, he reversed the sale. His reversal breeched their agreement and Nigeria was to pay over $5 billion which was reduced recently to over $400 million. If private companies cannot run the steel project, then it would be foolish to believe that government would do better. If I were OBJ, I would see for only N1 with the agreement that the plant should be running after a set time. If the private world can't make it work then it should be completely abandoned. I repeat, Government has no business in steel production. |

Perfectbeing: Before I continue further, lemme ask you a question.
Should Nigeria completely abandon the Ajaokuta Steel company after spending billions of dollars in it's construction, since producing steel from there would be more expensive than importation? No, we should not. It should be put in private hands. Government has no business producing steel. There are many major steel companies that could make the project profitable. Building it with government money in the first place was a mistake. If I was in charge, I would sell the project for N1 to a reputable company with an agreement that they would turn the place around after a set period of time. I would also give them a tax break to make them competitive with imported steel. |

OsunOriginal: To add to this discussion, you need to check a few other organizations and interrogate who the chairmen are and why they were made the chairmen.
The board of an organization basically oversees the investment of the shareholders (the owners) in the organization and ensures the organization is run in the interests of the shareholders. First, the board doesnt run the organization. It's only there to ensure the people running the organization are not shortchanging the owners (the shareholders). Regularly, a board meeting is held where the executive managers present the reports of business operations to the board and also get approval from the board for projects exceeding certain thresholds. The board needs a chairman who usually is the majority shareholder since the number of shares you hold equates to your votes. Of course, other major shareholders can come together to elect a chairman where there is no clear majority shareholder.
For example, if the split is 15%, 25%, 40%, 10%, 10%. The 15%, 25%, 10%, and 10% shareholders can work together to elect the chairman of the board even if the 40% shareholder does not support their choice. However, if a shareholder has 60% of the total shares of the organization, he is automatically the chairman of the board or whoever he supports is the chairman of the board.
So, Obi could have even made himself the chairman by virtue of holding the majority shares. He could have also been elected by members of the board. Basically, your shareholding is mainly the criterion for qualification here. This is assuming the person is educated enough to comprehend numbers, business terms, and effectively represent the shareholders. Therefore, there is nothing special about Obi being the chairman of a bank. He had (and still has) a lot of money there and that qualified him for the position. I have tried to teach but you don't learn. I now leave you to your ignorance. |

You can't just lift a data, and leave out information related to it. Actually you can. Even it were my school project, citing or referencing to them is all that is required. In the academic world you are allowed to cite data hence, you don't need to produce backup info to such data. The only time the data becomes useless is if it has be refuted. Perfectbeing: You actually make zero sense. Currently Nigeria and Ghana imports steel but there's few employment in the manufacturing sector of both countries. Then how come are you still saying when Nigeria's steel industry starts working Ghana will still have more employment in the steel industry? There you are wrong again. There are many industries in both Nigeria and Ghana that currently make use of steel. The construction industry is one. If Nigerian made steel is very expensive, it would diminish our construction industry and make many people jobless. There are many industries in Nigeria that depend on cheap steel such as the fabrication industry, the auto and auto parts industry, the kitchen and home utensils industry. If the cost of your steel goes up, you would be putting many of these people out of work and reducing their profit margins. Do you get it now? |
