MeineMutter:You talk like a kid. Why would shareholders vote for you to be the chairman? They vote because they believe you would grow their investment. No one would vote for a man who he thinks would lose him money even if the man is his child. |
As I told you earlier, you don't need anyone to help you make sense of Obi but if you want to read and educate yourself, then the link below would solve your problems. https://switchnigeria.com/2022/10/07/data-shows-peter-obi-outperformed-tinubu-fashola/ |
Seun, Nlfpmod, oam4j, mynd44 , lalasticlala If stuff as educative and informative as this does not make front page, then clearly you guys are unserious. |
Lindner:You say there are tons of false info and propaganda online but you think Nairaland is the best place to get the correct info. Oga, no one would do you research for you. If you are truly looking to make the right leadership choice you should not be looking for answers on Nairaland. |
JAMO84:You obviously don't get it, even the parts of Lagos that were not in the capital benefited greatly. That is why 95% of all multinationals including all international oil companies had their HQ in Lagos. The biggest sea ports by volume are in Lagos same with the airport. Being the capital, Lagos and environs became the center of our economy. So when we tell you that Lagos was built by all Nigerians and not Tinubu, that is what we mean. |
This is too complicated for Nairaland's semi illiterates |
This is the best analysis of the 2 governors. Normally this should be front page material as it it super educative but the gods of Nairaland don't like stuff like this. |
AuthenticKing:Please give me links to the research you are talking about. On the other hand, we can both look at a few tribes in Nigeria and how their religions shaped their morality. Religion has always defined what is good and bad. When you are ready send me links to your research, and I would be here. but for the main time, I see no need of arguing without facts. |
AuthenticKing:But it's your opinion. when you have proof of it let me know. |
AuthenticKing:What research are you talking about? Everything you have said is not based on any research, it's just your opinion. There has not been a known civilization without religion. So if you don't believe that religion shaped secular laws it's up to you. |
AuthenticKing:Ok, at least we now understand each other's opinion |
AuthenticKing:Its your opinion. It's ok if you feel religion that way but my argument remains that in every civilization, religion predates secular laws and secular laws evolved from religion. Our sense of morality draws its roots from religion. |
AuthenticKing:Wrong... Religion offers a moral code. |
Janosky:Sir, I saw your Graph, and I really got scared of the result. It's clear you did not understand the results from the graph. The graph shows the people who have been abused and indicates the organization where this abuse took place. There are 1.4 billion Catholics in the world compared to less than 9 million JW members. By proportion, the JW sexually abuses more than 2 times catholic church. If you don't get the maths, please ask someone that does.

OsunOriginal:you have a totally wrong notion. Our problem is never laziness. Nigeria has more farmers than the US, Russia, Ukraine, and Holland combined. Our problem is not that we don't have enough people cultivating already. |
Perfectbeing:First wheat is not cassava. It has by far more economic value. Nigeria is the global leader in cassava yet we make zero dollar from it. |
Perfectbeing:Post your links, what percentage of Chinese industries were built during the hunger years? |
[quote author=Perfectbeing post=117348885]Nigerians consume more rice than ever before. Talk about unaffordable. Millions of farmers became millionaires. Go and verify. Oga post your link. How many farmers became millionaires? Fuel subsidy will be completely removed and heaven and earth will not meet. As I said I support fuel subsidy removal. Yes, steel will be more cost in Nigeria than Ghana, but Nigeria will have more people employed in her steel industry than Ghana. In Ghana, only the people importing and selling steal will be making money. Most of the citizen would be unemployed. Yes, we would have more people working in producing steel but Ghana would overall have more people working in industries that use steel as raw material. For example, they would have more people in the construction industry because they have cheaper steel for construction hence there would be much more construction activities in Ghana. Do you know that America's oil refinery refines oil more expensive that other places? This is because America's refinery were built before better efficient and cheaper way of refining oil was invented. Today, is America not still refining oil for other countries? I don't understand your argument here. Ghana might enjoy cheaper steel than Nigeria but in the long run, it wouldn't help them. It would help them grow all steel-related industries like construction while Nigeria would produce steel that no one wants. Same way Nigeria's fuel is the cheapest in West Africa but it's not helping us in anyway. You are not making a point here. I am talking about duty-free not subsidy. Nigerians might be buying steel more expensive than Ghana, but many Nigerians would be employed and they'd have money to buy steel products like cars unlike Ghana where things will be cheap, but they still won't have the money to buy it. More Ghanaians would be employed in construction and other steel-related industries and more Ghanaian steel products would be exported. More investors would build steel-related industries in ghana because it's cheaper to obtain steel. For example, I would rather build my nail-making industry in Ghana than in Nigeria. |
[quote author=Perfectbeing post=117347045]Rice was taking a toll on Nigeria import. Nigeria could not afford it hence Buhari banned it's importation. Wrong, rice was much cheaper. Now it has become more unaffordable. Yes, the price of rice increased. But Nigerian rice farmers became millionaires overnight. Maybe, we have zero evidence of that but the Nigerian consumer became poorer overnight. Increase in price of rice is a small price to pay for Nigeria being self sufficient in rice production. Increase in price of rice is a small price to pay for Nigeria becoming millionaires from rice farming. It's not a small price. It led to hunger. Nigeria is the hunger capital of the world. Hungry people are less productive. Hungry children cannot get an education. Only a foolish government makes food inaccessible to its people. I agree with the removal of petrol subsidies. In a free market economy, we don't need subsidies. Let me also go further. The Ajaokuta Steel company, when completed would produce more expensive steel than what we import (most Nigerians don't know this). This is due to the fact that the steel company employs an old model, more expensive ways of refining steel. Better, efficient and cheaper ways of refining steel are now in place. In essence imported steel would be more cheaper than the steel Ajaokuta will be producing. Should that stop the Government from banning (or drastically increasing steel import duties) steel when the industry is completed and working?? Hell no! The government should never ban the importation of steel. You are looking at the smaller picture. If we produce very expensive steel, we are killing every other industry that uses steel. Again you are making Nigerian goods much less competitive on the international market. Let me explain. Example... Nigeria produces steel at N100 while Ghana imports steel at N50. Both use steel to make a pipe. The Nigerian pipe would cost N200 while the Ghana steel would cost N100. Everyone would import Ghana steel and with time the Nigerian steel industry would collapse. You need to give more thought to this bro. |
Perfectbeing:No, china wasted many years locking her economy and they achieved nothing. With a locked economy, china was mostly agrarian. There was very little industry. 95% of the industries in china are under 30 years old. Please can you mention the products china was manufacturing 30 years ago? China had less industry than Taiwan and Korea before they opened up their economy. All the good things happened when they opened their economy. On the other hand, tens of millions died of hunger with their closed economy. Google it, please. |
Perfectbeing:I understand that but my point is to look at the economy holistically. Cassava and corn cannot be our economy. |
Nyne:Wait oh, are you the one to choose who the Igbo's vote for? Stop this nonsense. Did they tell you that Tofa of NRC was incompetent. You guys believe that you have the right to teach the Igbo's how to vote. |
ForumNL:Very foolish question. Are Igbo's not free to prefer whomever they want? Are you the one to teach Igbo's who to vote for? |
Perfectbeing:Good you brought up rice. When Buhari ban the import of rice, the price of rice almost tripled. It only brought suffering to everyone. Since the time of Jonathan till now, the federal and state governments have invested more into rice than any other crop. It has only made Nigerians poorer and weakened out economy. We ban the importation of cement and now the Nigerian people pay a much higher price for cement than most countries in Africa while only few benefit. When would we learn. |
Perfectbeing:China was very very poor because they locked their economy. The moment they opened their economy to the world, they took over 600 million people out of poverty. Please do your research. Japan also locked their economy in the nineteenth century we know the result. I am not blindly supporting Obi. I have always advocated a free market economy. I have even debated it here on Nairaland in the past. |
Perfectbeing:Yes anyone could make money from anything. People make billions from transport, from tomatoes, from real estate, from snails, from restaurants, from hospitality. So just because a woman made 5 billion does not mean that our entire economy must go that way. |
Perfectbeing:Do you know why the iphone is produced in China? All components of the iphone come in to China duty free. The chips come in from south Korea and Taiwan, the precision equipment comes in from Germany. The design comes from the US. The batteries run on Cobalt from Congo. All these come in duty free. |
Perfectbeing:It doesn't matter, we are number 1 in cassava in the world. |
Perfectbeing:You use funny words, dumping ground. Actually China was literally the worlds dumping ground less than 8 years ago. Waste and refuse from Europe and America used to be exported to china. But then, Nigeria always had import duties. How did it grow our industries. We currently have more failed industry than anywhere in Africa. You don't need to go to China for examples we here in Nigeria have import duties and we see it has not grown our industries. |
Perfectbeing:Not really, we have been producing Agbado and cassava for more than 100 years now and things keep getting worse. |

but religion didn't give man the understanding we have about morality, men did.
