Who told you it is no longer happening? What is your evidence that it is no longer happening? If no one wrote about Ananias and Sapphira would you have read about it and known about it? In the Old Covenant, the punishment for the sin of blasphemy was death, so it follows that in the New Covenant, the punishment for the same sin is also death. In the book of Acts, we read of the Old Covenant penalty for this sin doled out to the person of Herod who blasphemed God by stealing His glory. We also read of the New Covenant penalty for this sin laid upon Ananias and Sapphira, both of who lied against the Spirit of God.

Why do we no longer see this in today's church, probably because what many worship isn't God but the idea of God fed them via the doctrines and traditions of men(and their churches), all lies, that are far away from the Truth of God.
