WriterNig:Qatar like other modern hosts of the game would not turn a profit. The broadcast rights are reserved by Fifa. The World Cup is the most lucrative and costliest soccer event because those who pay for the tournament are not necessarily those who see its profits. FIFA, soccer's organizational leader around the world, rakes in billions of dollars in revenue every four years from the World Cup, while the nations that host the tournament foot a bill of $10 billion or more. In the case of Qatar, it would spend more than $15 billion on none existent infrastructure. The painful part is that at the end, the stadiums would be mostly abandoned. |
binarymachine:Some pepole would take offence at anything |
Str8talk21:Amadioha only attack's fetish people. If you are a Christian, you wouldn't care so much about Amadioha |
payloader:IPOB would only turn igbo land to a battle ground. How would that profit the igbos. The army would come in and we would have another borno on our hands. The rich and privileged would run, leaving the poor. The the world would continue to hear news of death and destruction from igbo land. We have already watched the script in borno. We know exactlywhat would happen. Hence I cannot admire or support IPOB or ESN over the governors. |
EdwardRandy:First, my comment was not to Kanu your god. It was my opinion of the whole biafra stupidity. Your ESN is already making the southeast into another zambiza. Were you sleeping when Orlu was turned into a theater of blood? It was the innocent that died. Have you not noticed that it is the innocent dying. Your nnamdi kalu is in UK because Nigeria is not safe for him. Does he want to make it unsafe for the rest of us igbos? My father fought in the biafran war. I have read almost all the books on biafra. Kalu is leading you guys to the same mistakes we made in the 60s. Do you need kalu to think for you? Can't you think for yourself? The ESN is giving the government an excuse to attack igbo land. Can't we be wise and calm. At the end, innocent igbos would die. Businesses and investors would stay away from the east. Have you not heard of borno state? How many businesses are investigating in borno? The ESN and the army would turn the southeast to a battlefield. Be wise, your people don't need this. And I have no words from nnamdi kalu. He is living the good life in UK while people like you risk your life in the jungles of Orlu. It's people like you I am trying to save not nnamdi kalu. If you truly love igbo then retire from ESN. Come out from the jungles and throw away you gun. Stop risking your life and the lives of the innocent around you. |
Solatium:Actually, technology is the number 1 that's why Apple, Microsoft, alphabet and amazon are among the 10 biggest companies on earth. Manufacturing and agriculture are not bad but in a country like Nigeria, you could set up an industry under one government just to lost it all in the next administration. The overall best business in Nigeria is government connection. |
thesicilian:Nigeria has some of the lowest tax in the world.. dangote does not buy raw materials, he mines them free from the ground. He doesn't pay a kobo for the limestones. |
Amotolongbo:IPOB, is this the biafra you promised us? Already you are threatenin your fellow igbos with death. You call Nigeria a zoo but your actions show you are no better. As a kid, I used to dream of the biafran nation but now, I know better. I would be a mess. Biafra would be another south Sudan. There would be civil wars. It would be ruled by proud dictators. Biafra would be the biggest mess in Africa. We igbos are a great people. We have not been fairly dealt with by the Nigerian system but biafra would only bring sorrow, tear, blood and disappointment. We are already seeing it unfold. |
To me, all this is unnecessary. Government should not be the one to decide how Nigerians get their sugar. Why can't we leave it to the hands of market forces and competition. Did we not learn anything from cement. Nigeria became self-sufficient in cement production yet Nigeria is one of the most expensive places to buy cement. Monopolies are never good for the consumer. Government should hands off these things. Take a look at the entertainment industry. It grew without government regulations. Today nollywood is a global brand. Then see what happened with crypto.. before government regulations, we were one of the biggest markets in the world. Again look at rice production.. since 2012 government has pumped billions into rice production still the price of rice continue's to rise. Nigeria has become one of the most expensive countries to buy rice. |
chuksville:Baba go to YouTube and watch alligators you might change your mind |
IdowuRufai:guy, 11km that is ogba to ikeja times 2. It's not common for an individual. It's worth celebrating. |
GorillaApp:The song spoke to me |
After Tupac is was X. There wouldn't be another rapper with such energy. And when he prayed, you felt the sincerity, you felt his pains and all his sorrows. All his life was a constant battle with the darker side. Sliping, falling and trying to get up. It's all over now. His soul is released. Rest in peace DMX. |
gnykelly:Oga, not everyone must be a vegetarian like you na |
Anigreat:Personal I would prefer wealth than a wife or a husband. If having a husband or wife is that important, why are people getting divorced all the time? |
IamBroke:It's one of those courses that adds nothing to the economy. Except you are doing it as a hobby, there are better ways to spend 4 precious years of your life. In today's world, you need to be smart in choosing a career path. University is both expensive in terms of time and money so don't just pick a course for the sake of getting a degree. |
Elsueno:I agree things might have been better then but not like our leaders where wonderful |
Elsueno:Our 1960 leaders were equally corrupt and inefficient. There was nothing amazing about their style of governance. They couldn't even agree on how to move the country foward. Just 3 years into independence, the country was already embedded in crisis. Funny, in our anthem, we sing, the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain. But as a country do we even have heros? Definitely not among our leaders and politicians past and present. We give praise to men who failed their country. Soon after the British left, nepotism, tribalism and corruption took over. Our 1960 leaders build that evil foundation that is affecting us till today |
habsydiamond:I always disagree whenever I see people pointing to agriculture as solution to Nigerians economic problems. Did you know that more than 1 out of every 3 employed Nigerians is in the agricultural sector? That is already too much. Did you know that both this administration and the last spent billions in rice cultivation yet we remain rice dependent and the cost of rice keeps going up? Also not a single developed country has agriculture as the main stay of its economy. What we need is less corruption, a free market economy and an economy that isn't dependent on a single sector.. We need agriculture, oil, mining, manufacturing, high tech and the service sector. Let's stop making the same mistake by thinking that government should invest or empower anybody. Instead let us encourage a free market. Let people, private citizens and businesses invest. Let's make it easier for competition and growth. Let government stop wasting our money in the name of giving loans to farmers.we waste billions each year doing that. Let government instead tackle corruption and the ease of doing business and infrastructure. Then they can leave agriculture and other businesses to investors. |
Whenever I see people posting videos and pictures of the new rail, my heart breaks. These rail projects are one of the worst things our government could do to us. We take loans to build rails. The rails continue to be run at a loss and are very expensive for the average Nigerian and we would pay back the loans with interest. Still we want to continue with the rail project. |
Jashub:Liberia is one of the poorest countries in the world. Go and check out their GDP. That can't be the right model. For now, oil supercedes farming. Already more than 1 out of every 3 working Nigerians is a farmer. Is it until everyone becomes a farmer before we develop our economy? No nation has become an economic power house through farming. And let's face it, crude oil still has a long time. It would take trillions of dollars to change the entire oil infrastructure to wind and solar. By 2050, global population would have increased by 2 billion. The need of energy keeps going up. Let me add, the current and even the past president spent billions on rice production. Yet rice production remains insignificance to our Gdp. What would we plant that other countries are not already growing. |
Jashub:I disagree with you. Of the richest nations, none is dependent on agriculture. The problem with agriculture is that it takes 3 months to grow corn. Within that time Nigeria can produce over 100 million barrels of oil and make 5 billion dollars. We can even make double that from gas. Yes oil and gas wouldn't last forever but I advise we invest in industry and services rather than agriculture. Ivory Coast earns about $4 billion a year from selling cocoa while Mars an American company makes over $16 billion from processing cocoa into chocolate. Let us invest on industry and utilize our oil and gas resources. Agriculture isn't as lucrative as it seems |
meobizy:I thought is was only men that body shame. See you a lady body shaming celebrates for being fat. We all were created differently. Some people are finding it hard to grow big while others just keep getting big. Learn to accept every one the way he or she is. |
ImmaculateJOE:That is not necessarily and. A so called grassroot politician has no special qualities. Maduka lives in the us yet he has impacted his people much more than the so called grassroot politicians. What we need is credible men not grassroots men |
KingZaddy:You obviously don't believe in freedom of speech. The thing with freedom of speech is that you are allowed to say what you like even if you are wrong. Let everyone one say his mind. |
OlayemiAshraf:Haba take it easy. |
Godbest:Good news for us all. More competition means better service to us |
bluefilm:True Google failed but after facebook, we have had, Tik Tok, snapchat, even instagram that was bought over by Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn aND pinterest. Thank God none of their founders gave up and claim it was impossible like you just did. What lesson can you learn from this? It's never impossible. I recommend you read innovator''s dilemma clayton Christensen. He used to be president of Harvard''s business school. It would widen your scope on the matter |
uunwanaobong3:Thanks |
bluefilm:Maybe, but that's why it's a great opportunity. I never said it would be easy |
bluefilm:First you don't know Mr Trump. It's not like he is your next door neighbor. Second, this is a great time for anyone to float a social media company that does not involve itself in censorship. There is a huge market for that. That was what made plarler the fastest growing social media company earlier this year. |
Ezekiel8161:I beg to defer on a number of grounds. 1. Facebook cannot decide if an election was free and fair or not. 2. If no one is allow to doubt or disagree with election results thanks to almighty Facebook, then it would be impossible for people in Uganda, Venezuela and many other countries to speak out. Facebook needs to ban the thousands of accounts calling out the government in these countries. 3. Freedom of speech even if what you say is wrong, you have a right to express it. 4. Double standard's even in America. Stacey Abrams would tell you till today that the Georgian governorship election was rigged. Hilary Clinton has not stopped blaming Russia for her 2016 thrashing yet almighty Facebook did not ban them or as much as fact check them. 5. Speaking about undermining confidence in the system, black lives matter, powerful democrats, holywood and the media have continued to undermine the justice system claiming systemic racism. If the justice system can be undermined, then why can't the electoral system be equally undermined. |

...... This people are making me angry ....
