africaken254: definition of RADAR :Radio Detection And Ranging"@tdayof if you clearly understand the definition of RADAR,where is it stated it controls a UAV/UAS!? you something i am done talking with you,you win
You obviously know I knew that already. In short, spark gap is a radar system. Your comment doesn't change anything. Go dip into radar systems then come argue with me.
Am done. I am not ready to derail this thread but when you're done learning about radar systems, you can mention me.
africaken254: A drone that is controlled by radar .WHAT THE F@CK it uses data link because the rest uses magical spell.n@gga i was born speaking English ,you cantanker[quote author=africaken254 post=49810219]A drone that is controlled by radar .WHAT THE F@CK it uses data link because the rest uses magical spell.n@gga i was born speaking English ,you cantankerous fool
You were born speaking English and you lack the ability to comprehend simple English?
UAS- Radio-Remote controlled data link UAV/UCAV- Radar or satellite data link.
Who the hell controls a UAS with a radar data link? Mr man You are just unworldly. English is not your mother tongue, hence reason for your bad comprehension. I can help you by relating my write-up in Swahili.
africaken254: show me a small size UAS exactly like Gulma that is launched like an ordinary aircraft !,most companies making such UAS launch them using catapult or bungee to save fuel and time to prepare a landing strip for a such UAS. your in a isolated outpost with limited resource, how are you supposed to launch a Gulma UAS !? all the footage i have seen of a Gulma UAS it was taking off from a tarmacked runway
That's why they are not used to be be launched in combat but from a base. If the army needs a catapult or hand throwing version, they can be requested but weight and other things will be considered.
africaken254: what i have marked ,what the F@CK are they meant for !reason my friend reason!!use your f@cking thinking capacity and stop acting like we are in kindergarten
Stop being vacuous. Your statements do not correlate at all.
africaken254: those Gulma UAS not UAV can only operate from a prepared air field and from the inception of the project there has not being any proof of them being used in actual operations.
I simply asked you to explain better as I find it hard to understand the bullshit you typed up-there. Then you typed this bull shit that has no correlation with the bold words above which I asked you to explain better.
africaken254: to have such a SUAS small unmanned aerial system closer to the battlefield ,you need to either launch by hand, use a Catapult & Bungee Launchers then recovered drone using a net or skyhook recovery system et.c .they are limited by size and line of sight.
How does this answer my question? Then you replied with an ignorant write up and some dumb pictures of uav tires.
Oh I forgot, you are probably a Swahili speaking guy who lacks the simple knowledge to comprehend simple English. Next time, you don't come at me with the F word.

I know that. It's your previous post that I do not understand
africaken254: those Gulma UAS not UAV can only operate from a prepared air field and from the inception of the project there has not being any proof of them being used in actual operations.
Do you mean that's the working principle of gulma too? Gulma is being controlled with a radar system and probably data link.
africaken254: those Gulma UAS not UAV can only operate from a prepared air field and from the inception of the project there has not being any proof of them being used in actual operations.
the day people start reading rather than assuming things, everything will be much better.
why did i write this
"it will be the 3rd crash for JF17 in PAF service if true"
and what does it mean in plain ordinary english
and the noteworthy responses it elicited 1.tejas is 30+ years old 2.shitty "suppa powa" dream 3.three crashes in one year 4. nemesis meant jf17 is crash prone etc
fault is mine, i should have never posted the news and how was i to know that so called people who can speak with so much authority and conviction on fighter jets and even do comparisons are ignorant of the fact that ALL machines are prone to error, both internal and external. 1.pilot disorientation 2.engine flame out 3.bird hit 4.MRO induced crashes etc etc
as for 3 crashes i stand by it , believe it or leave it . i am not responsible for some peoples ignorance. and also the fact that crashes r in not in any way a reflection of an aircraft's capability if it is caused by external factors , in fact they also serve to improve the safety features if the crash is due to internal facts and r found out during subsequent court of inquiry and remedial measures r introduced.
i am in a Nigerian forum , i have met many good people here and learned and laughed a lot , met people who think based on facts etc and have an open mind , but to expect me to tow somebody's line because u bought a particular jet is being delusional. facts based on technical parameters/technology are facts, sometimes it will be favorable sometimes it will be not ,no amount of jingoism or name calling is going to change it.
so it is better i make a gracious exit. i actually did it before but forgot to log out and saw the mentions.
i wish good luck to all of u ( except for one gyrocopter warrior in diapers )
Henry240: Not even SAAB marketers are as deluded as Patches. This infographic puts to rest the delusional claim of Patches. The Gripen C/D is only as good as an F-16 C/D, that is an F-16 Block 40 aircraft.
There is no way a Gripen C/D is anywhere as good as this F-16 Block 52, they are not even in the same class. It is impossible, infact should be jailable for anyone to mention a Gripen C/D in the same sentence as an F-16 Block 52.
Henry240: We paid $1million a unit for each of our UCAVs. That's $5 million for 5 units, offcourse that number doesn't include the funds we paid for the AR-1 Precision Guided Munitions(PGM).
For the Yahbon Flash 20, i don't know how much they cost, but i suspect we would also get 5 units.
Talking about UAVs in Nigerian military service, it is unfortunate the level of ignorance coming out of East-Africa. On the tactical drones used by the army, i came across this retarrded comment on twitter.
"Useful armies are using drones the size of trucks Nigeria is playing.."
Also on the Gulma drone.
The Nigerian army uses small tactical drones in close collaboration with fielded forces, to identify and target critical enemy assets, including command centers, logistical centers and concentrations of troops and vehicles.
On the Gulma drone, the Chief of Air Staff, while receiving the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service stated categorically.
"The CAS(Air Mshl Abubakar) stated that the NAF is in a position to partner with NIS for its UAV operation since the NAF has successfully designed and produced 5 versions of the GULMA UAV, as well as been able to operationalise them through collaboration with UAVISION of Portugal."
On the size of Drones, the Nigerian military operates multiple MALE UAVs. Atleast 10 in number (in-service & ordered).
Pictured left: Two Gulma UAVs covered in canopy.
Thanks for the reply. However, a good news base on Nigerian made UAV/can't say how far about the UCAV version should be out by January. Atleast a prototype should be flying by then and all the negative comments can end.
Jarizod: [color=#679267][s]Dammned pololicemen! Hungry set of muhfvckas..instead of protecting the country all they know how to do is suck up to rich kids! But when kata kata/armed robbers show show for igboro na them go first tear race! -- The only time them dey show power na when students dey fight them go dey spray tear gas upandan beating and arresting innocent students and civilians just to show say them get power!
Look at the youngman in the pic below wearing a camo but they didn't beat him up! Why? Cos they have been payed but if na normal citizen dem for don beat am sotey d guy go forget hin name and address join! Nigerian police needs to change!
CuteMorriz: True....but the technology is not his....did he design the boards from scratch...he bought and fixed parts by parts...?
Yea. He obviously bought it and fixed the part. It would have been better if he had design it and asked a company to build up an airframe for him. That would have helped him in getting more credits, but lack of aerodynamic knowledge and others would have affected him. The uav might not fly sef.
CuteMorriz: you can't just do those stuff and start selling in commercial quantities na....they are people's work...those stuffs are already patented....try it and the original owners will fry ur ass in court...
You can only be sued for a technology with patent or process of a technology and not a working principle guided by law of Physics or Aerodynamic.
Etizz: how will Dis be? this is not invention, mind u, secondly, drone is not a new toy anymore, moreover, it has been used by the NA (including camera and Missile carrying drone) but yet no reasonable idea about d whereabout of the girls,
the question is, what is special about Dis one dat it is now a hope of getting the chibok girls..... don't u get it??
By the Nigerian Airforce not army. Not camera carrying drone lol. ISR platform(UAV) and armed drones are called Unmanned combat aerial Vehicle (UCAV)
nemesis2u: it looks like a JF17 crashed in the Arabian sea. no official confirmation though.
it will be the 3rd crash for JF17 in PAF service if true.
The fact that the mission was being flown out of Karachi indicates that the air-frame belonged to the no2. Squadron (Minhas), which operates the recently inducted JF17 block 2. news blackout from PAF sources , but the news broke out because a british airlines flying overhead picked up a distress signal and reported to the authorities. now SAR operations are on.
@henry240 came to know that Nigeria is set to sign deal in November for JF17
Oh. Heard of something like that but it was a PAF F-7. Probably yours is a different news and if so, the PAF just had 2 crashes in 72 hours.
"Beyond Science Fiction" --Chinese Quantum Physics Breakthrough Enables New Radar Capable of Detecting ‘Invisible’ Targets 100 Kilometers Distant Wonder how this invention would have been useless if found made by an African. We will be like does he even know what he's saying ? A breakthrough in detecting low reflective and almost invisible targets? If it's not from the west it's not possible.
Quantum radars for stealth. Composite are very tiny and same with radar absorbent materials. They also have a resonance frequency hence, quantum radar is the best in illuminating targets with low backscattered reflection. It's based on quantum-entalgment. (Photons) comes to mind like wave particles. Even if your radar absorbent composite is impregnated in a lossy material, it will be detected.
krendo: And who told you assembly is not an element of Manufacturing?
Welding, Rivetting? Are these not legitimate manufacturing processes and yet assembly methods?
There is a huge difference when it comes to engineering. However, what they did can be classified as manufacturing because in manufacturing, the company procures the raw material from outside, and then makes the final product.
Japan says it scrambled fighter jets on Sunday after eight Chinese military aircraft flew between Japanese islands.
The planes, thought to be bombers, surveillance planes and one fighter jet, flew along the Miyako Straits, between Okinawa and Miyakojima. China said about 40 of its aircraft had been involved in what it said was a routine drill. The planes did not cross into Japanese airspace, but the move is being seen as a show of force by China. map with zones It comes one week after Japan said it would take part in joint training exercises with the US navy in the South China Sea. Japan's top government spokesman said Japan would be watching China's military movements closely. Tokyo will "continue to devote every effort to vigilance and surveillance and rigorously enforce steps against intrusions into our airspace based on international law and the self-defence forces law", said Yoshihide Suga. The Miyako Strait is a strategically important 250km (155 miles) wide stretch of water south of Okinawa and close to Taiwan. It is also close to a group of islands in the East China Sea which are claimed by both Japan and China. Japan, which controls the islands, calls them Senkaku, while China calls them the Diaoyu Islands.
July 2009: Dead Abubakar Shekau took over leadership of Boko Haram in 2009 following the death of Mohammed Yusuf, the group's founder. It was reported that Shekau was killed during clashes between Nigeria's security forces and Boko Haram. July 2010: Alive Shekau appeared in a videotaped interview admitting that although he had been shot in the thigh, he had been rescued and claimed leadership of Boko Haram.
August 2013: Dead https://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/C010/production/_91386194_2013.jpg An intelligence report suggested that Shekau was shot on 30 June 2013 following a military raid on the jihadist group's shelter, Sambisa forest in north-eastern Nigeria. The report claimed that Shekau had died between 25 July and 3 August, 2013. September 2013: Alive A man who claimed to be Shekau appeared in a newly released video, alive. The Nigerian military claimed that the man was an imposter. Grey line September 2014: Dead The Nigerian army stated that Shekau has been killed, this time by the Cameroonian military, during a Boko Haram attempt to capture Kodunga, a small village north of Maiduguri. The Cameroonian military backed these claims, releasing a photo on social media, allegedly of Shekau's body. This was disputed by local media reports stating that the man in the photo was a Shekau imposter. October 2014: Alive Shekau once again appeared in a video, mocking allegations that he had been killed. Grey line August 2015: Dead? Chadian President Idriss Deby asserted that Boko Haram had been decapitated and Shekau replaced by a new leader. August 2015: Alive An audio message was released on social media in the same month; Shekau announced that he was alive and still the leader of Boko Haram. Grey line August 2016: 'Fatally Wounded' The Nigerian Air Force announced that Shekau had been fatally wounded in air strikes. September 2016: Alive https://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/1683A/production/_91381229_2016.jpg A video was released on 25 September showing Shekau, alive and in good health.
The military's response: Boko Haram degraded In response to the latest video release, Nigeria's Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar told the BBC: "In any war, there is propaganda. People try to present a picture that doesn't exist and with modern technology they can do so much. We have asked our Directorate of Air Intelligence to take a critical look at the video and provide a comprehensive report. However, there is no doubt that the Nigerian Air Force and our security agencies have successfully degraded the capacity of Boko Haram to operate in the way they used to in the past". Grey line The expert's response: Better communication needed Cheta Nwanze, Security Expert and Founder of SBM Intelligence, believes that the extremist group uses the Shekau brand name as a convenient and recognizable moniker to get their information out. He says the Nigerian military's focus should lie on communicating real tangible victories in the fight against the Islamist insurgency. "There is no doubt that the Nigerian military is winning and will win the fight against Boko Haram, but communication needs to be handled better. These claims of death and disclaims by Shekau damage the credibility of the military. This is a guerrilla warfare not a conventional battle and communication is important. The real tangible victories being made should be focused on and announced." Boko Haram at a glance: Founded in 2002, initially focused on opposing Western-style education Launched military operations in 2009 Thousands killed, mostly in north-eastern Nigeria, hundreds abducted, including at least 200 schoolgirls Joined so-called Islamic State, calls itself IS's "West African province" Seized large area in north-east, where it declared caliphate Regional force has retaken most territory.
jln115: Negative G=inverted flight Negative G dive=tdayof made up manoeuvre.
And No its not also called an outside loop....you can fly level and still do an outside loop you don't have to come into the loop inverted...but you obviously don't know that!!
