WebmastersRe: Seun We Cannot Login Nairaland Via Freebasics by tdayof(m): 6:58pm On Sep 19, 2016
LordScent:

Free basics aside,

Seun you wouldnt by any chance be aware that your site is becoming almost impossible to access every passing day?

Ok lemme put it this way. I have tried on NUMEROUS occasion in the past few weeks (using different browsers and phones) to access nairaland and all i get is "error 402" , "cloudflare bla bla"....or just "check internet settings".......

Just before you say it must been my phone config, i must Say i access whatever site i wish to with so much ease and speed.(same could be said of nairaland before buhari's regime).. None of such ish.

Recently someone noted in my small tech group

"How do nairaland even have 1000 visitors per day with a site that one can barely access without breaking a leg" ....

There and then it occured to me i wasnt alone.

Please seun omo osewa, fix this.

Back to free basics....

I don't know what this free basic of a thing mean but about the cloud ish error, I think it's due to your proxy. I get same issue whenever my vpn is on. It doesn't affect all vpn but anytime I use a specific vpn the error pops up.

Henry240:
Isn't this the best NAF video yet. To think i almost passed it as just another BHT hunting video from the staples of the NAF.

I'm wondering why NAF attacked the position with 3 jets. 2 F-7NI and one Alpha jet. The NAF fuel consumption report did state the NAF flies in formation. So it is, 2 F-7ni and 2 Alpha jets.

The first F-7 drops it loads, the Alpha jets releases a Salvo of rockets. That one unlucky Boko must have thought he was free as he fled, until the 2nd F-7NI butt-blasted him to paradise.
The video is cool. We just need good assets that will be able to deliver a precision guided bomb capable of inflicting more damage.

Doesn't disqualify the fact, a 1950s Radar, basically World War II tech, shot down a top of the line stealth bomber.
Does the radar matter? The modification is the bomb.. I'll shoot down a B-2 with a Rolland after modifications.

It's plainly physics.

Henry240:
.....But it was. Low RCS means sh*t when faced with a 1950's Soviet radar.
Low RCS is doesn't mean invisibility.

Unknown to NATO, Yugoslav air defenses operators had found they could detect F-117s with their obsolete Soviet radars after some modifications.[3] In 2005, Colonel Zoltán Dani confirmed this in an interview, suggesting that those modifications involved using long wavelengths , which allowed them to detect the aircraft when the wheel well or bomb bay doors were open.[4] In addition, the Serbs had also intercepted and deciphered some NATO communications, and thus were able to deploy their anti-air batteries at positions best suited to intercept NATO planes.[4]

So, no big deal. An aircraft with 0.1 RCS will still be detected by VHF or L band.

Henry240:
Bottom line, it was shot down using a 1960s Radar and old Soviet missiles. Not one, but 2 units were hit.
And do you know that a radar with same technology will track a F22, PAK-FA now. It's not the matter of the years. It's physics.
Moreover with a secured RF coms the F117 won't be shot down.

Radio coms gave F117 out in addition to VHF radar. VHF-X band will give present stealth aircrafts out at some range.

Imagine an aircraft as big as this

With a RCS as small as this

Flying at almost mach 1 on your radar screen or the F22 at mach 2? grin grin Clutter must really be bad thing.

You consider the F-7 to be good?

Yes there's something to learn on the ground from it.
After that herd them all to the museum with the alpha in tow
Yea I consider them to be good. Not in battle warfare but for her class she's good to go technologically. I can guarantee you after dismantling the Mig 21, we will be able to manufacture a proper UAV.

the two p18n OPVs cost $42mil each

Nigeria ordered two P18Ns from CSOC in April
2012 [28] for US$42 million each. [19] The first
was slated to be completed in China, with the
final 50–70% of the second being completed at
the Nigerian Naval Shipyard in Port Harcourt ;
CSOC was contracted to upgrade the shipyard
to facilitate this. [28]
NNS unity should better be on her way home.

the F7 is a reversed engineered mig21. Any case those mig 21s and the F7 are not something Nigeria needs. NAF needs a proper multi role advanced fighter witch they seem to be getting.
Yea I get your point. We are kind of really far behind when it comes to aerospace engineering. There's definitely something to learn from a Mig 21 for a country like Nigeria.
